“Come on people, let’s not let the bastards over at channel eight beat us to the punch! Camera is rolling in three, two…”
A click is heard as the lights come up on stage. The following headline scrolls across the bottom of the screen.
BREAKING NEWS IN KOLOPOK == MATTHEW BALTHORE STARTS HIS CAMPAIGN
“Hello Figueria! This is Toland Forlo with Figueria News Company, bringing you your news as it happens.
In a not so surprising turn of events, Matthew Balthore, Acting head of state, has announced his bid for the Crown Election. His announcement came this afternoon at a press conference in Kolopok, following the morning session of the Upper Circle. FNC correspondent Lorrel Malok was able to ask a question following the announcement, regarding the heightened tensions in the Pacific:
A recording of the conference begins, with Lorrel, easily identified by her well know voice, asking a question.
“Mr Balthore, Lorrel Malik here with FNC, with the election now shifting into full swing, what are your intentions with the conflict in the Pacific?”
Slumping, the acting head of state lets out a brief sigh.
“The crisis in the pacific has consumed much of my time in the past few weeks. It’s actually why is was so late on announcing my bid!” A short bark of laughter escapes his mouth. “But truthfully, it is not Figueria’s, nor any country that exists halfway around the globe, place to intervene. We simply hope that the crisis is resolved quickly and with minimal citizen casualties.” Matthew’s eyes steel, and he directs his attention directly towards the camera. “And to any country who believes we will simply stand by and allow our ideals to be trampled, as of 2pm this morning, I have signed an executive order into effect that restricts unauthorized use of the Panama Canal by civilian or military vessels with intent to transport military supplies, equipment or personnel. Figueria takes care of her own. Any further questions?”

We will be back after the break with our panel of analysts.

“And we are off!”
Roland leans back in his seat, loosening his tie. “Jeez, the Acting Head really wants to start his campaign off with a bang, huh.”
One of the set workers stops briefly to respond. “Well it seems like he wants to set a hardball tone for it, that’s for sure”
Roland exhales a held in breath he didn’t know he had. “Hopefully it doesn’t blow up in his face.”

Headline:[/b]Saianese Battle Groups Mobilize Amid Rising Tensions in Asia-Pacific and deteriorating ceasefire talks.
By Nguyen Ly Huyen, International Correspondent
Singapore, July 23, 2024 — In a dramatic escalation of regional tensions as result of rumored failing ceasefire talks; Saianese Battle Group 02 has been spotted moving swiftly towards Taipei, while Saianese Battle Group 03 advances from Yangon towards Singapore. These military maneuvers come in response to mounting geopolitical pressures in the region and rumored failing ceasefire talks in the Newmerican Hawaiian islands since July 18th.
The Saianese Battle Group 02 moving towards Taipei is comprised of naval vessels, fighter jets, and ground forces, has set sail from Singapore’s strategic naval base of the Southern Division Command. Satellite imagery shows a flotilla of warships, including destroyers and frigates, accompanied by fighter aircraft. The battle group’s mission remains undisclosed, but experts speculate that it aims to assert Saianese territorial claims and counter recent provocations.
Battle Group 03’s Swift Response from Yangon. Meanwhile, Saianese Battle Group 03, stationed in Yangon, Myanmar, has been placed on high alert. This battle group, known for its amphibious capabilities, includes marines, armored vehicles, and air support. Sources report that it is rapidly redeploying towards the Malacca Strait for Singapore, a critical hub carrying about 25% of the world's traded goods, including oil, Breen manufactured products, coal, palm oil. The move is seen as a show of force in response to perceived threats in the Pacific and Taiwanese SSR.
The Asia-Pacific region has witnessed heightened tensions in recent weeks. The regional community closely monitors these developments, fearing a potential escalation into armed conflict in Pan-Asia.

Newmerican Ceasefire Talks
Kaunakakai City Hall, Kaunakakai, Moloka’i
July 23, 2024 [Day 5 of “Talks”]
[Meeting Intermission]
[Entire Conversation in Mandarin]
Admiral Zheng He emerges from the conference hall after another day of observing fruitless ceasefire negotiations. The discussions primarily involved heated exchanges between the Mathornian and Breen delegations, while the Saianese representatives quietly observed, adhering to orders from Hanoi to contribute minimally to the talks.
Li Yingluo, an aristocrat, and the Emperor’s niece was already standing outside the conference hall, reflecting on the meeting. He walks over.
Admiral Zheng: “May I ask why is the Breen delegation would risk such potential escalation in Asia in support of a regime that is ideologically different in every way from the Celestial Empire?
However I will add that I am relieved that the Celestial Empire has not engaged with USSR forces since we’ve entered the theater with the rest of our fleet.”
Li Yingluo: “The Empire needs firm allies in the pacific and that Nancy Jones is that ally She would also say that their forces will eventually engage with each other if Saian doesn't stop encroaching on Kauai.”
Admiral Zheng: “Saian was once one of the Celestial Empire's strongest ally. However now we are facing off each other, unnecessarily ruining Newmerica while being the sole surviving nations in Pan East Asia.”
Admiral Zheng and Li Yingluo pause to reflect for a moment before CPT Pham Ly Quang overhearing their conversation, walks over.
He salutes Admirial Zheng before engaging into their conversation.
CPT Quang: “Admiral Zheng, I respectfully disagree. Our previous friendship with the Breen was a fallacy. Their decision to revert to imperialism betrayed the unified Asia experiment in pursuit of their false Mandate of Heaven.”
Li Yingluo: My family and families like hers have ruled for thousands of years and the Empire has prospered.
CPT Quang: “Of course, the rich prospered off the poor. That's the only reason why your family had ruled for thousands of years. Subjugation and suppression of her own people runs through her blood. I will not allow the Celestial Empire do the same to the Newmericans.”
Li Yingluo waves her hand dismissively
Li Yingluo: “ The Empire has held onto its traditions and culture while Saian has forsaken it.”
CPT Quang: Our traditions and cultures are vast and diverse that spans across the vast Savashanist Republics. Yet, we still hold to it while ensuring our people are equal and free under the new laws of governance. While your people are still frozen in the past.
Li Yingluo: “It appears that you lack awareness and may have lost touch with your true identity.”
Li Yingluo gracefully return into the conference hall as Admiral Zheng clears his throat.
Admiral Zheng: “Comrade Captain Quang, I empathize with the challenges you’ve faced in Lihue, which we both share. However, it’s essential to maintain patience, and humility. Let’s not overlook the fact that you also have Chinese heritage. While Li Yingluo is a Breen Imperial aristocrat, and we are Saianese military commanders, ultimately, we are part of the same Chinese family, just under different unions.”
Captain Quang’s youthful and fiery emotions gradually subsided. He saluted Admiral Zheng He before re-entering the conference hall.

Newmerican Ceasefire Talks
Kaunakakai City Hall, Kaunakakai, Moloka’i
July 23, 2024 [Day 5 of Talks]
- In the bustling halls of the grand conference center in Kaunakakai, diplomats, At the heart of the Imperial delegation stood Princess Li Yingluo, the Emperor's niece, a figure of grace and poise and military leaders from three of the world's great powers gathered to discuss the fate of a nation torn apart by civil war. The air was filled with tension as representatives from the Celestial Empire, the Socialist Republic of Saian, and the United Provinces of Mathorn sought to de-escalate the conflict that has engulfed Newmerica.
At the heart of the Imperial delegation stood Princess Li Yingluo, the Emperor's niece, a figure of grace and poise who had led the Imperial mission to Saian almost two years prior.
On the sidelines of the talks, as aides and advisors milled about, Li Yingluo found herself approached by Saianese Admiral Zheng He.
"Princess Li," Admiral Zheng began, his tone respectful yet probing, "I must ask, why does the Celestial Empire risk a larger conflict in Asia to support a government in Newmerica that it does not ideologically align with?"
Li Yingluo regarded the Admiral with a measured gaze. "Nancy Jones is an ally," she replied, her voice steady. "The Empire needs allies in the Pacific to maintain stability and protect our interests."
Admiral Zheng nodded thoughtfully. "I am glad that our forces have not engaged each other directly. It would be a tragedy for our nations to come to blows."
Li Yingluo's expression hardened slightly. "If Saianese forces continue to encroach on Kaua'i, Admiral, we may soon find ourselves shooting at each other which is something neither of us wants."
Admiral Zheng sighed, shaking his head slightly. "Saian was once one of the Celestial Empire's strongest allies. Now we risk war and, in the process, destroying Newmerica. Is it worth it?"
Before Li could respond, a young officer approached them, his uniform crisp and his expression steely, his disdain for the Imperial government was obvious.
"Admiral Zheng," Captain Quang interjected politely, "I must disagree. The Empire's support for a fascist regime is a clear indication of their imperialistic ambitions. They have no place in Newmerica. It's their imperialism that led to the failure of the United Asia experiment in the first place."
Li Yingluo's eyes flashed with indignation. "My family and others like it have ruled the Empire for thousands of years, Captain. During that time, the Empire has prospered."
"Only the rich prospered," Captain Quang retorted, his voice rising slightly. "Suppression and exploitation run in your family's blood. We will not let the Empire do the same in Newmerica."
Li Yingluo waved her hand dismissively. "You have no respect for the legacy and culture of your own people, Captain. Saian has forsaken its heritage, while the Celestial Empire upholds it."
Captain Quang's face darkened. "The peoples of Saian are equal and free under our new laws. We live in the modern era, while your people remain frozen in the past."
Li Yingluo shook her head, "Empty words, Captain. You replaced the Emperor with party cadres and the Gods with Socialism. Your revolution brought change, but not enlightenment"
With that, she turned on her heel, her robes flowing behind her as she walked away, leaving Captain Quang fuming in silence.

Admiral Chen Xiang Hua Launches Offensive Amidst Stagnant Ceasefire Talks
17:02 July 24, 2024
By Amanda Lambert, Staff Writer
Lihue - In a bold move, the Saianese military has initiated Operation Tides of Destiny, launching an offensive from Lihue to Poipu on the picturesque island of Kauai. This strategic maneuver comes amidst stalled ceasefire negotiations in Kaunakakai.
Saianese forces, backed by naval and aerial support from the Taiwanese SSR Battle Group 01, have surged forward along the coastline, aiming to secure key positions and gain territorial advantage. The offensive route spans from Lihue, the capital city of Kauai Island, to the serene beaches of Poipu. Syndicalist Troops, and the People’s Red Marines are advancing swiftly, encountering light resistance as most of Patriot Vanguards Forces have been retreating towards the north eastern half of Kauai, and entrenching around Kapaa. Sunny skies and calm seas favor the Saianese forces’ amphibious operations.
Despite ongoing peace negotiations in Kaunakakai, both sides remain entrenched in their positions. Diplomatic efforts have stagnated, leading to frustration among mediators. Residents in affected areas report heightened tension and uncertainty. Schools and businesses have closed as a precautionary measure.
The international community closely monitors the situation. The sun sets over the Pacific, will Hanoi’s Operation Tides of Destiny tip the scales toward peace or escalate a conflict in Asia?

Cathedral of St. Michel, Saint-Michel, Maui, R.F. Newmerica 22:45 July 24, 2024 Joint-public address to the Nation
The grand cathedral hall of Saint-Michel, dimly lit by flickering torches. The air is thick with tension as President Ryan Beaumont and Mathornian President Zoe Sharp address a crowd of surprised citizens.
President Beaumont (raising his voice): “Citizens of Newmerica! Our beloved land, once a beacon of freedom, now groans under the oppressive weight of the Patriot Vanguard. Their iron fist has attempted to silence our voices, extinguished our dreams, and left us shackled in fear. But today, we gather not as victims, but as warriors!”
President Sharp (her accent noticeable): “My friends, I hail from a distant land, but I stand here with you. I’ve seen the rise and fall of tyrants, the ebb and flow of revolutions. And I tell you this, Newmerica’s spirit cannot be snuffed out. It smolders like embers, waiting for the winds of change.”
President Beaumont (clenching his fists): “The Vanguard claims to protect our heritage, but they’ve twisted it into a grotesque parody. They’ve rewritten history, erased dissent, and branded anyone who opposes them as traitors. But we know the truth, the blood of patriots flows through our veins!”
President Sharp (leaning on the podium): “Our defensive alliance stands united against tyranny. We’ve smuggled weapons, forged alliances, and rallied resistance cells across Newmerica. But weapons alone won’t win this war. We need your hearts, your courage, your unwavering resolve.”
President Beaumont (locking eyes with the crowd): “Look around you. These faces farmers, teachers, artists they are the heartbeat of our nation. They’ve lost loved ones, endured torture, and whispered defiance in the darkest corners. Today, we ignite the spark of rebellion on Kauai, and the capital island of Oahu!
The Vanguard’s grip tightens, but they underestimate our desperation. They think they’ve crushed our spirit with the introduction of the Celestial Empire, but they’ve merely stoked the flames. We’ll strike when they least expect it when their arrogance blinds them.”
President Sharp (nodding): “But we need you. Each of you. Spread the word. Gather in secret. Recruit your neighbors, your children. The Vanguard fears unity, for it threatens their fragile dominion. Let them hear our battle cry: For liberty, for Newmerica!”
President Beaumont (voice unwavering): “And listen well, my friends. Victory is within our grasp. The Vanguard retreats, their ranks fractured. Our guerrilla fighters harry them at every turn. But beware the winds carry whispers of reinforcements from Asia. More troops to bolster the Vanguard’s crumbling regime. When their imperial troops arrive, they’ll find not a conquered people, but a nation rising from the ashes.”
The crowd stirs, eyes aflame with determination. Outside, thunder rumbles a harbinger of change.
And so, in the dimness of that grand hall, the call to rise echoed a symphony of defiance, a promise to reclaim Newmerica from the clutches of fascism.
As the leaders spoke, across the scattered islands of Newmerica, people huddled together in dimly lit rooms. They tuned their makeshift radios, eyes wide, listening to the clandestine broadcast. The message spread like wildfire, whispered from ear to ear: “The time has come. Rise, Newmerica, rise!”
And there, amidst the crowd’s fervor, surprise flickered a collective gasp as they beheld the Mathornian President herself, a symbol of solidarity from distant shores.
And so, in the dimness of that grand hall, the call to rise echoed a symphony of defiance, a promise to reclaim Newmerica from the clutches of Nancy Jones, and her Patriot Vanguards.
Executive House, Aduenam City, Oahu, P.V. Newmerica 23:38 July 24, 2024, Public Address to the Nation
A dimly lit office, where a President Nancy Jones steps is seated to adress the nation.
President Jones (voice unwavering): “Citizens of Newmerica, I stand before you not as a foreign dignitary, but as a voice of reason a counterpoint to the fervor that has swept through our islands. Disgraced President Beaumont and Foreign President Sharp have spoken eloquently, but let us consider another perspective.
First, let us acknowledge that the Vanguard, for all our brutality, did not emerge from thin air.
We rose from our own divisions, our own complacency. We cannot ignore the seeds of extremism that took root within our society.
President Beaumont speaks of bloodlines and heritage, but what of the blood spilled by our own hands? Our history is not pristine; it bears scars of intolerance, prejudice, and power struggles. The Vanguard exploited these fault lines, and now we face the consequences.
President Sharp, with all due respect, represents a distant land. Her intentions may be noble, but her understanding of our struggle is filtered through geopolitical lenses. We must question whether her alliance truly serves our cause or merely advances her nation’s interests.
And what of unity? Yes, unity is a powerful force, but it must be genuine not coerced. We cannot rally behind slogans while ignoring the complexities of our shared pain. Unity means acknowledging our differences, our grievances, and finding common ground despite them.
The reinforcements from the Celestial Empire yes, they come. But let us not forget that they, too, have their own reasons for intervening. We must tread carefully, however their arrival have guarantee not only our recognization as the true government of Newmerica, but also provided safety and security for the people of the Patriot Vanguards; they heard our calls for help, while President Beaumont had let the syndicalists run rampant, and now the Savashanist Saianese are on our lands.
My fellow Newmericans, let us rise not as blind patriots, but as critical thinkers. Our revolution should not be a mere inversion of power; it must be a transformation of our collective soul.”
The room stirs, nodding in agreement. Outside, the thunder still rumbles a reminder that change is inevitable.
Dawn of Defiance 20:27 July 25, 2024A dimly lit cellar in a small village, somewhere in Patriot Vanguard Controlled Oahu.
The air hung heavy with tension as the clandestine meeting began. In the flickering candlelight, disparate figures gathered men and women from all walks of life, their faces etched with determination. They were the heartbeat of the Strips of Liberty, fueled by a shared purpose, to reclaim their homeland from the iron grip of the Patriot Vanguards.
Émilie, a young school teacher with fiery eyes, stood at the center. Her voice, though soft, carried unwavering resolve. “Comrades,” she began, “we’ve hidden long enough. The time has come to strike back. To answer President Beaumont’s calls.”
Around her, the room buzzed with anticipation. Marcel, a former mechanic turned saboteur, leaned against the damp stone wall. “Émilie’s right,” he grunted. “We’ve gathered intelligence, mapped out targets both the Vangaurds and Imperialists won’t know what hit them.”
Kekoa, an elderly farmer, coughed into his handkerchief. “Our sons and daughters are fighting on other islands,” he rasped. “It’s our duty to fight here to ensure they return to a free Newmerica.”
Émilie unfolded a tattered map, tracing her finger along the winding roads. “Our first offensive,” she declared, “will cripple their supply lines. We’ll sabotage bridges, derail trains, and cut their lifelines.”
The room erupted in whispered agreement. They were no soldiers, but they were patriots. Their weapons: ingenuity, courage, and a fierce love for liberty.
Outside, rain tapped against the windowpane. Émilie’s gaze swept over her comrades the baker, the seamstress, the retired professor, the store clerk. Ordinary people, now bound by extraordinary purpose.
André, a wiry man with a scar across his cheek, stepped forward. “We’ve secured weapons,” he said. “Stolen from P.V. stockpiles. Enough to arm every willing hand.”
Émilie nodded. “Today, at dawn,” she announced, “we strike. The H3 highway tunnel, their lifeline to the front. We’ll sever it.”
As the meeting dispersed, Émilie caught Jacques’ eye. “We’re writing history,” she whispered. “Our children will read of this night.”
And so, in the pre-dawn hours, the Strips of Liberty emerged from the shadows. They moved like ghosts, their footsteps muffled by mud and determination. The tunnel entrance loomed ahead a symbol of oppression. As the first explosive charges echoed, Émilie knew: this was their baptism of fire. Their defiance would echo through the ages, a beacon of hope for a nation yearning to breathe free once more.

Resistance Group Emerges from Patriot Vanguard-Controlled Oahu
By Amanda Lambert, Staff Writer
21:01 July 25, 2024
Aduenam City, Oahu — In a dramatic turn of events, a clandestine resistance group has emerged from the shadows on the Patriot Vanguard controlled island of Oahu. The joint Presidential address from Ryan Beaumont and Zoe Sharp sparked civic unrest in the populace, the Stripes of Liberty a name whispered in hushed tones have answered the calls of resistance.
Operating covertly, the Stripes of Liberty have launched a series of audacious attacks against key Patriot Vanguard military logistics. Their actions include sabotage, espionage, and disruption of supply lines, notably the H3 Highway Tunnel that directly connects Château de Foix, to Aduenam City. Reports suggest that they have infiltrated critical installations, leaving the Patriot Vanguard scrambling to contain the situation.
The backdrop for this uprising lies in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations between the Patriot Vanguard, Republican Federation, and foreign powers. While the talks aim to bring stability to the region, they have also ignited public anger across the entire Newmerican island chain.
Tensions on Oahu have reached a boiling point. The Stripes of Liberty, fueled by a sense of hope, have rallied the disenchanted. Their rallying cry: “liberty for Newmerica!” The streets of château de Foix, and Richardson, Newmerica’s 4th, and 5th largest city, echo with protests, police clashes, and impassioned speeches.
The Patriot Vanguard, caught off guard by the emergence of the resistance, has intensified security measures, especially in Aduenam City. Curfews are in place, and checkpoints dot the island. Yet, the Stripes of Liberty continue to strike, their actions daring and unpredictable.
Foreign diplomats closely monitor the situation. Some express concern that the Stripes of Liberty’s actions could jeopardize the delicate ceasefire negotiations. Others see them as a symbol of hope a beacon for those who refuse to accept facist nor imperial subjugation.

Violence and Treachery - 07/26/2024
- General Itagaki stood resolutely on the command post balcony, overlooking the bustling activity of Imperial forces preparing for their next movements. With a determined look, he called Colonel Zhang forward, his voice firm and unyielding.
"Colonel Zhang," General Itagaki began, gripping the hilt of his sword with a strength that matched the conviction in his eyes. "I am assigning you 2,000 of our finest men. Your task is to fortify and defend Kauai. The Saianese forces are not to be engaged unless they advance upon your position. Under no circumstances are you to give ground. Is that clear?"
Colonel Zhang saluted sharply, his face a mask of determination. "Yes, General. I understand."
As the two officers exchanged their orders, a sudden explosion reverberated through the air, echoing ominously from the distance. Both men turned towards the sound, eyes narrowing as the ground seemed to tremble beneath their feet. Moments later, a scout rushed in, breathless and wide-eyed.
"Report!" General Itagaki barked.
"Sir," the scout panted, "communist partisans have sabotaged the H3 highway tunnel. It has been completely destroyed."
A muscle twitched in General Itagaki's jaw as he processed the news. His grip on his sword tightened, knuckles white with barely contained rage. He muttered an expletive under his breath before speaking more clearly, his voice a low, dangerous growl.
"The Newmerican army is f*cking incompetent," he spat, turning his gaze back to Colonel Zhang. "Be on guard on Kauai. These partisans will stop at nothing to disrupt our operations. Stay vigilant."
Colonel Zhang nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I will, General. I won't let you down."
General Itagaki turned sharply, his eyes locking onto a Kempeitai major standing nearby. His voice cut through the air like the edge of a blade.
"Major!" he shouted, causing the officer to snap to attention. "Round up the families of all suspected partisans. We will not tolerate this insurrection. Make sure they understand the consequences of their actions."

“Shadows of Defiance” July 30, 2024
A dimly lit basement somewhere in Patriot Vanguard Control Aduenam City.
The air hung heavy with tension as members of the Stripes of Liberty gathered in their secret meeting place. The flickering candlelight cast shadows on the faces of men and women who had risked everything for freedom. Among them is a young former schoolteacher, Émillie, a fierce fighter with a heart burdened by loss.
Émillie’s brother, Henri, had been captured by the Kempeitai. They had raided their family home, tearing it apart in search of evidence of resistance activities. But it wasn’t enough for them to imprison Henri they had taken his wife, Marie, and their two young children as well. The screams of Marie still echoed in Émillie’s nightmares.
The cell leader, Kainalu, addressed the group. His eyes bore the weight of countless secrets and sacrifices. “Our families suffer,” he said, his voice low but resolute. “The Celestial Imperial invaders think they can break us by targeting our loved ones. But we will not yield.”
Émillie clenched her fists. She had seen too much suffering the kidnappings, the occupiers parading through the streets, the curfews that choked the life out of Aduenam City. She had vowed to fight back, to be a thorn in the side of Breen imperial forces.
Kainalu unfolded a map of Aduenam City, its corners frayed from countless consultations. “Tonight,” he said, “we strike one of the veins that pump blood to their Kempetai central command. The Aqua Aston Hospitality, their largest Kempetai station outside of their central administration headquarters. We’ve learned that they’re holding a secret meeting there, planning their next move.”
Émillie’s heart raced. The Aqua Aston Hospitality, a grand building that had once symbolized Newmerica’s thriving tourism industry, now acting as a foreign military police station. “It was time to reclaim it” Émillie thought.
01:12 July 30, 2024 Aqua Aston Hospitality
1850 Ala Moana Blvd
The Stripes of Liberty team moved silently through the darkened streets. Émillie clutched a satchel filled with explosives. Her comrades carried pistols and determination. They slipped past Patriot Vangaurd patrols, their footsteps muffled by the concrete.
Inside the Aqua Aston Hospitality, the Breen laughed and drank, unaware of the danger closing in. Émillie pressed the detonator, and the world erupted in chaos. Windows shattered, flames licked the walls, and panic swept through the building. Kempetai Jotohei(s) stumbled out, disoriented and vulnerable.
Émillie watched the inferno from the shadows. She imagined Marie and her children, safe and free. She thought of Henri, imprisoned but unbroken. The sacrifice was worth it, the message clear: The Stripes of Liberty would not bow to tyranny. Émillie vowed to keep fighting, to honor the memory of those lost. As she disappeared into the night, she clutched her st michael cross necklace, a symbol of strength, courage, and protection.
In the aftermath, the Patriot Vanguard further tightened their grip on Aduenam City. But the resistance had struck another blow, one that resonated beyond the flames and rubble. Families of partisans found hope in the darkness, knowing that their loved ones were not forgotten.
Itagaki's Fury - July 31st, 2024
- General Itagaki strode through the smoldering remains of the Aqua Aston Hospitality, the once-grand hotel now a ruin of twisted steel and shattered glass. Smoke still billowed from the remnants of the Kempeitai headquarters, the acrid scent of explosives lingering in the air. His boots crunched on the debris-strewn ground as his stern gaze swept across the devastation.
An aide hurried to his side, struggling to keep up with the General’s determined pace. "Sir, preliminary reports confirm it was a communist attack. They planted explosives within the building. Major Tanaka is among the casualties."
Itagaki halted, his jaw tightening as he processed the news. "Tanaka..." he muttered, eyes narrowing. "Idiots," he hissed under his breath, though it was unclear whether the remark was directed at the fallen Major or the attackers. He resumed his march, purpose radiating from his every step.
A convoy soon whisked him away to the nearest detention center, a grim facility surrounded by barbed wire and guarded by heavily armed soldiers. Inside, the atmosphere was tense, the prisoners' fearful whispers filling the air.
He paused before one cell, where a man sat in silence, his eyes fixed defiantly on the General. This was Henri, the brother of a known resistance fighter, recently captured with his wife and children during a Kempeitai raid.
Something about Henri’s stare irked Itagaki.
"Do you have something to say?" he barked in Japanese, his voice echoing through the cold, stone walls. Henri remained silent, not understanding the language, but his eyes spoke volumes.
Henri muttered something under his breath in French, his voice trembling with anger and frustration, the words lost on Itagaki and his staff, unable to grasp the meaning of the words but recognizing the tone of defiance.
General Itagaki's patience snapped. He gestured to two of his guards. "Take him and two others outside. Now."
The guards dragged Henri and two other men from their cells, their protests falling on deaf ears. Outside, under the harsh glare of the sun, they were forced to kneel in the dirt. General Itagaki drew his sword, the steel gleaming wickedly in the light.
Itagaki unsheathed his sword, its blade gleaming ominously. Without a word, he swung it down with brutal efficiency, on Henri's neck, the blade slicing cleanly through flesh and bone. Henri's head fell to the ground, his body slumping forward. Itagaki moved to the next man, then the third, his sword rising and falling with lethal precision.
When it was done, he kicked Henri's lifeless body, his face contorted with fury. "Distribute the remaining prisoners as human shields around all major installations," he ordered, his voice cold and merciless. "If the terrorists want to kill their own families, then so be it."

Westward expansion of the Sibir II oil and natural gas pipeline into remote northern #Tovinye is being met with small but noticeable protests from university students in the major city of Krustotye. The city has been the center of historical head-butting between its own residents and the Nomadic Government of Tovinye. Pamian foreign secretary Vitaly Karushchev is expected to conduct a foreign visit to the city, in hopes of calming the tension between the two parties. #pamisec

Aw man, inactivity
Well, such is life. I randomly remembered this on the day of my senior year homecoming lol (GTN was created when I was in Elementary School if I remember correctly). Time flies. I hope you’re all doing well!
I like to think that this isn't inactivity, rather that we are just focusing on other things in the background. This will always be here so yeah. It's just like clapping, we never stop clapping, the pauses in between just get longer :p
But yeah, time flies especially in college

- - - MBC News - Mathornian election a dead heat as the first round of voting on Tuesday next week - - -
The nation is on tenterhooks as the first round of the presidential election will take place on Tuesday next week. Adam Carver and Lewis Wood head into election day deadlocked in the polls, and everyone in Polaris is thinking the same thing. Two sources on either side of the political divide have said similar things; "This is what democracy is all about." and "Its time for the people to decide.".
Mathornian Presidential Elections are run in two stages, a first round of voting is held on the first Tuesday of November. Thereafter, the two candidates who receive the plurality of the votes progress into the second round of voting, held on the second Tuesday of November, where the candidate who receives a majority of the popular vote is elected as president, who will be inaugurated on January 20 2025. Elections in Mathorn are administered by the Federal Elections Commission, a government agency who is responsible for setting up polling stations, voting, maintaining the electoral register, counting the votes and enforcing campaign finances laws and legislation.
Latest polling indicate that Adam Carver, former president and Lewis Wood, Conservative Senator, are certain to make it through to the second round run-off election on Tuesday 12 November. But the two candidates are polling neck and neck in two-party preferred polls.
Adam Carver has run an insurgent campaign, banishing past criticisms of his presidency's foreign policy to haul the Liberal Party back into the fight. Adam Carver is promising to keep the nation on a similar path, the economy is slowly ticking back into life, more infrastructure spending and a lowering of business/corporation taxes. Meanwhile, Lewis Wood is promising radical change; lower income taxes, lower public spending and to take more of a hard-line foreign policy stance on the international stage.
Congressional elections will also take place on the 12 November, where all 650 seats in the House of Representatives and 34 out of 100 Senate seats are up for election. The race for the House of Representatives is predicted to be as tight as last time, with Right-wing party's currently holding 331/650 seats, with left-wing party's holding 319 seats. The Liberals are expected to suffer losses in the Senate, defending 12 (35%) of seats, whilst the Conservatives are defending 3 (20%) of seats.
Provincial elections are also taking place on 12 November, with gubernatorial elections taking place in 6 Provinces, with 5 Conservative governors up for re-election, 4 of whom are in tight re-election races in Wales, the North-East, East Midlands, West Midlands and Wales. Scott Benton is currently expected to win re-election comfortably in the South-West of England, as is Sarah Clover, Labour governor of North-West England. All 11 provinces are holding legislative elections, with all 1,100 Provincial Legislative seats up for grabs.
