World Factbook Entry

The Dragon Ridge is a volcanic mountain range, whose jagged peaks bite into the sky like the fangs of the beasts from which the mountains draw their name. The surfaces of the mountains are riddled with caves - which are warmed by the molten stone flowing behind their walls - in which dragons, the fearsome monsters of legend, dwell. The fertile lands beneath the range, as well as the valleys between the mountains, are home to numerous other creatures and beings.

I'm in my school orchestra, so we're being taught there.

Well done, not everyone has the talent to play an instrument.

It just takes practice and ignoring the pain in your fingers.

Pain in your fingers? How long do you play for at one setting?

Mystic Dragon wrote:Pain in your fingers? How long do you play for at one setting?

Well, its more fingertips because you have to hold down the strings and they kinda dig into your fingertips.

That does sound painful.

You get used to it. Besides, on 2 or 3 days of the week (depending on schedule) I have lunch as a break in between my two orchestra periods.

Would it be possible to harden your fingertips without loosing sensitivity to play violin?

I use to play the Violin, but i'm not sure about that one exactly. Depends how much pressure you use; sounds like to me what Lunit says about it quote: Digging into your fingertips. Could most likely be due to putting too much pressure on the strings, yes, you'll develop calluses but until that point, you'd be correct about your other statement of it being a bit painful.
