Oh, yes, absolutely! Sadly, there will always be trolls around who will either want to create a bad name for someone, or to annoy them (and others) that way. Although I think there was even an Issue written about it, that a newly formed nation took on the same name as yours.

I recall from January last year, not an impersonator, but just someone who tried to defame me. Overweight Call Centre Staff. That nation tried to defame me. I've never sent them a TG, but yet somehow they knew my tg style and claimed I tg'd them some pretty nasty sh*t (which I never did)

So yeah, you're right. There's always people who'll try to smear another's name.

But this comes from a Russian name Anatoliy (am I correct?) which means there are some chances to meet similar nation which owner (or ruler) is Anatoliy

this is correct, however if you type in "Anatoliy" in the dossier all you'll find are my main nation, 3 puppet accounts and a nation called Anatoliye, which is based off of Turkey, not Russia.

Oh, right, I forgot about Anatolia region. So the chances are higher now :P

So far the ultimately unique nation name I've ever witnessed is "Eaischpnaeieacgkque bhcieaghpodsttditf" which CTEd but I have their legendary trading card. I know nation name is not the reason for such high level card but in this case it is purely justified.

I'm really sorry to hear that :( I hope things got cleared up and that nation was banned

When was Forest founded ? There's a post by me on page 1 of the RMB ! 10 years ago ! I must be one of the oldest natives...

This iteration of Forest was founded on the 8th/9th of June (timezone dependant), 2007. The original founding was August, 2005.

Damn, that's crazy. 10 years is a long time...

Also, that moment of sadness when you realise one of the 5 people from that first page still around isn't in Forest anymore.

I have met several nations with similar flags and at least one nation with similar name. Now we have Rivierenland and Rivienland whom I also confused at first sight. But it's pretty hard to match with unique names like Ypogegrammeni, Middle Barael, or Frieden-und Freudenland (as of the latest posted nations on this RMB). Sorry for the pings but you are not new to NS and I am really curious if you have ever seen your NS-twin.

Despite having a name you could probably expect to get duplicated, I have never encountered a Lura lookalike.

honestly, not much. NS has been pretty quite lately with events. We did have a spike in trolling, but that seems to have died down (but seriously like one day this week there were like 30 reports)

The nation got deleted by site moderators, and most Europeans supported me against OCCS, believing me as i never said anything bad to him. He thought i said bad stuff to him whilst i didn't. However, the European government at the time used his false claims against me as evidence of me being rude to people which ticked me off massively, considering that OCCS' false claims were 40% of the evidence in that case.

I'm still salty about it, and i should've charged OCCS for defamation at the time. Considering that he knew my telegram style, despite never receiving an actual telegram from me, i expect that it was a puppet of someone who tried to troll me. I still don't know who, but i'd really like to know who tried to defame me

Wait, do legendary cards not become CTE cards when they CTE?

no, you're just learning that?

Why would I know that? I just open packs when I get them and then ignore them.

I can't say that I've ever run across an impersonator, but I feel one probably has to be active to be impersonated? I was for a long time (and in fact my older nation is still) camped out in Gay, but in neither case have I been particularly out and about on the RMB (unless you count that brief stint five or six Gay governments ago); I stop by NS occasionally to make sure my nations don't CTE and to wave hello (and I guess jump in for hamantaschen) and I can't imagine that lends itself very well to someone looking at an activity log and going "you know who I'd like to duplicate..."

As for duplicates, well, I suppose I would be thrilled to find another fan of Ancient Greek/katharevousa writing conventions out there. Or of Lithuanian-Hungarian mashups, I'm not particularly picky in this regard.

I don't really know how it works to be honest. Some cards do show "ex-nation" instead of flag but as for the one I mentioned it's still a regular card. Also I believe I have seen many other cards of CTEd nations that look okay.

So, if I'm remembering correctly...

Cards were initially released as a joke of sorts. A card was issued for all extant nations at that time. Later it was decided to make cards permanent. The information was refreshed for all the carded nations, which then reflected the CTE status of some that no longer existed when the change was made. This resulted in the "Ex-Nation" cards. No new Ex-Nation cards were created after that finalization regardless of whether they CTE'd after that time, nor do existing cards update to reflect a CTE that happens later than that one update. All Ex-Nation cards are Season One, and will remain Ex-Nation even if that nation has since been resurrected.

When Season Two came along, they did a new snapshot, and nations that existed at the time were again issued cards. Knowing that they would be permanent, all cards were frozen immediately to reflect their extant status at the time of S2 creation. These cards will never update, nor will there ever be Ex-Nation cards from Season 2.

Hello, my nation is aiming to have the #1 best environment on NS. Wish me luck...

Good luck! That is a herculean task. Even getting to #1 in Forest is very challenging to put it mildly!

Aw, long name is CTE. :( He was a good issue writer.

The most amazing thing about that was that apparently it wasn't even a random mashing of the keyboard. He said it meant something in, I believe, Czech.

It is definitely not Czech though. At once I thought it could mean something (in my theory it was Welsh or so) but then I doubted it. I never read what this nation said about it but if it means something (and if it’s in European language) I’d bet that it’s in Welsh or Basque. Or in a made up language.

Ecofriendly wrote:Hello, my nation is aiming to have the #1 best environment on NS. Wish me luck...

this is going to be one extremely difficult task, it could take years for you to even reach top 10 nations. A good place to start would be top 0.1% for eco-friendliness or environmental beauty in Forest. That's a little bit more achievable.

Nah, it's definitely not Welsh.

EDIT: I should probably clarify that the letters k, q, v, x and z don't exist in the Welsh alphabet.
