Due to historical relations betwixt our nations your offer of establishing bilateral relations was initially met unwell within the Första Kammaren (Senate) and resulted in several days of tumultuous arguments amongst Senators. After much deliberation and thought however, the Första Kammaren has voted in favor of establishing bilateral relations with our Slavic neighbors to the East. We believe that strengthening ties between Vaustein and Podnebesna is a good way to help bring unity and stability to the European continent, extinguishing any potential conflicts before they may arise between our nations. I personally would like to cordially invite your heads of both state and government to Stockholm, to discuss matters regarding establishing official embassies in Stockholm and Moscow alike. I look forwards to hearing from you soon.
Warm regards.

Capitol Building rebuilt, President Dawes gives speech
After a delay in finishing the Capitol Dome and topping out, the Capitol Building has finished the rebuilding process and Congress can now once more take control of the building. In a speech on the Capitol steps, President Dawes had this to say:
"Though We still mourn for those that lost their lives in the deadly Capitol Bombing, we stand here today to reaffirm our commitment to the rule of law and justice. This building is much more than a symbol of Union power, it is a symbol of pride. You the people once built this building from the ground up over 200 year ago and finished that great dome after a terrible civil war. And now, just like our forefathers before us, we have rebuilt that symbol and made it even grander than before! Our determination to rebuild from the tragedy that befell us will show those still at large and mark my words they will be brought to justice, it shows them that we are not cowed, that we are not afraid and this nation, created for the people, by the people and of the people, will not perish from this Earth and that the Union as it has in the past, shall hold at all cost!"
The President's speech received great approval from throughout the nation and her approval ratings have since gone up to 70% and are holding steady

Greetings. We are pleased to hear that your Senate of sorts has passed the motion to agree to diplomatic relations. I would not see any good reason for the motion to be argued over to simply formally start diplomatic relations, our two peoples have been connected for ages and in various ways. There was indeed faults in the past, but those faults were from another time, a very different time. They should not hinder our country nor yours. Opening relations is mutually beneficial for both of us and can lead to great things in the future.
As for a meeting between our leaders, that will not be able to occur at this time as the President is preparing to go on a nationwide tour for the next two weeks. A meeting could possibly be held after this time, if that would work for your leadership as well.
Regards,
Minister of Foreign Affairs
