Dear friends of the Isles,

As requested, the Imperial navy shall take part in regional military exercises with the Royal Navy to better solidify relationships between our two prestigious peoples'; as well as participate in training scenarios that simulate protecting joint-interest trading lanes on the sea. We commend you upon your bravery during the current political hellfire that tarnishes Europe's once glorious past. We realize that sending our naval forces to aid you in training will be reviewed by those, particularly the Imperial Eagle and The ottoman state as an act of perceived aggression. We by no means, will display ill intention to these two states; however we will take defensive postures and display our intentions for these listed nations and the world to observe.

We ask that the Royal Navy synchronizes with the Imperial fleet inbound to the Isles, we shall approach from the south and then veer to a western approach, away from Labrynnan territories, intent to evade physical detection. Once near, we will approach the coalition fleet, with your provided guidance to them, and from there; our nations fleets will begin to participate in the exercises, while showing our dear friends that we have no intentions whatsoever to do them any harm. You and I, are honorable people, we must expose them to proper sportsmanship and mannerism.

Union Navy visit Cadiz, Labyrnna

In a surprise visit to European waters, the Union Navy has made a port of call in the port city of Cadiz today and what a port of call it is. Containing the most powerful and advanced ships ever built by human hands, the pride of the Union Navy, the Liberty Class Railgun Arsenal Ship USS Arizona was the first of the over 40 ship strong force to enter the port. It remains to be seen why the Navy has sent such a powerful force across the Atlantic, though some have theories it is a show of force following the recent incident in the Mediterranean Sea some time ago. Rumors floating around state that Emperor Aphras and Minister of Defense Vaquera will visit the fleet and tour the ships while it is in port.

USS Texas (BBG-03) near Brest, Labyrnna

Commander Jackson looked out from the command bridge of the Texas and towards the Maryland, New York, California and the various escorts and carrier. Admiral Richardson had sent him ahead of the main force to enter the English Channel and to stay outside the national waters of the United Kingdom. Jackson smirked as he looked in the direction of the UK. He had never liked the way they acted, stemming from a meeting long ago when one particular officer bragged at the Royal navy was still a force to be reckoned with.

"We'll see just who rule the waves Brit.....It may not be the whole fleet but this force is more than what you can field on your best day."

Looking at the helmsman he spoke aloud

"Helm, bring us to heading 220 and set course for the Channel. We're gonna make some Orange cream soda by the time we leave the Channel and circle their isle. Let's see what kind of welcoming party the rest of the fleet can expect to meet"

As the ship heeded to port and the rest of the task force followed suit, Jackson only looked out of the horizon and towards the UK, a grin on his face

Sobiraniya votes in favor of compulsory vaccination

The debate surrounding compulsory vaccines has for years been controversial and divisive. Progressives and intellectuals have maintained that it is ridiculous not to have your children vaccinated, as it voluntary puts their lives in danger. According to such lobby groups, it is in the nation's interest to mandate vaccination in order to avert preventable public health disasters. On the other hand, conservative groups have rejected the idea. They claim that since their religion does not allow vaccines, mandatory vaccination conflicts with their freedom of religion. More importantly, they argue that it is not the government's right to interfere with their health, especially since some claim that vaccines cause autism.

However, today, the Sobiraniya has voted in favor of making 11 child vaccines mandatory, alongside barring non-vaccinated children from public schools. The Infinian government has stated that it is their purpose to 'root out growing skepticism towards vaccinations, which increasingly lead us to preventable public health disasters. With 456 votes in favor, 80 against, and 24 abstentions, the vote easily passed. It is expected that the High Council and the Empress will not be any obstacles. The Infinian government has also resolved to spend significant funds towards the creation of a licensed, mandatory vaccine against malaria, a disease which has caused significant damage in the Imperial Federation.

Nadya Rivua, a leading figure in the anti-vaccine movements, has briefly reacted with a tweet 'see you in court.'

Union Fleet nears OB waters
~ Royal Naval Forces HQs, Orange-bourgogne

Brigade Admiral Robert Sainsbury RNF entered the office of the Defence Secretary, Captain Lewis Martins MP RLF. He carried with him a paper with on it the latest satellite photographs from ships near Orange-bourgogne.

Brigade Admiral Robert Sainsbury RNF: “Sir, please take a look at this. It seems as if the Union Fleet from Imperial Eagle has setup a taskforce ahead of their main fleet. They are heading towards the English Channel.”

The Defence Secretary took notice of the information and thought for a moment.

Captain Lewis Martins MP RLF (Defence Secretary): “Thank you for the information, Robert. We will leave them alone for now as they did nothing stupid. Please keep me up to date with their manoeuvres. We do not want to see them crossing the baselines of our territorial and contiguous waters… Also, would you be willing to inform the Prime Minister about the current situation? Just for if things were to escalate. She must also be aware of what is happening.”

Brigade Admiral Robert Sainsbury RNF: “Do we contact their ships too, sir?”

Captain Lewis Martins MP RLF: “Not yet. As of yet, we are at a friendly footing with them and we do not need to risk another incident. If there is to be an engagement, let them be the aggressors. Then the world can once more see that the Union will use violence and power to get what it wants, even if they have to sacrifice some lives for it. Just inform the PM, and the Royal Aerial Forces.”

International Focus - World Leaders
Today:
Rebecca Dawes, President of the United States of America

Adriana: Buenas noches. Welcome to "International Focus". The program where we evaluate and report about all ongoing events across the globe.

This time, in this special edition of "World Leaders", I'll be interviewing a Head of State that had to endure and persevere over a very troubling time for her nation. Today, the American People and the rest of the World are aware of her dedication, skills and what she is capable of doing to protect the Union.

This woman is; President Rebecca Dawes of the United States of America.

Thank you for this opportunity, Mrs. President.

Dawes: Hello Adriana. I am pleased to be a part of your program.

A: Thank you once again for saying that. That is really nice of you. But, Mrs. President, believe me when I say that People around the globe are waiting for this interview and your responses. I've seen this "hype" across social media and when I'm not on TV.

D: We should begin then, don't you think Adriana?

A: *smiles* A strong woman and leader, through and through. Let's begin.

A: Mrs. President, let me start by asking, has the US Government completely recovered from the tragic attack that killed nearly all elected officials?

D: Fortunately and proudly I can answer that question with a solid "Yes". The US Government has completely recovered from that deadly blow. It was very difficult, but we Americans were strong enough to weather another storm. And here we are today.

A: Is there a way in which this tragic incident could have been avoided, Mrs. President?

D: No one can predict what will happen in the future, but more strict security measures have been enacted.

A: How were your first hours as President of the United States?

D: The first few hours were pretty hectic as we worked to uncover who was alive and who was dead, while also working to uncover who was behind the attack.

A: Mrs. President, does the US Government have credible evidence that Islamic extremists elements, based off Afghanistan, were involved the attack?

D: We have no concrete evidence that points to Islamic terrorism, as we are still investigating. I can't reveal much, as most of that information is classified, but we have reason to believe it is a homegrown group.

A: Changing the subject, Mrs. President, which role does the Union play in the crisis between Orange-bourgogne and the Ottoman Empire (The ottoman state)?

D: Concerning the crisis between the Ottomans and Orange-Bourgogne, I hope a peaceful solution is reached but, we cant condone what the Royal Navy did.

A: Do you believe it will see a peaceful resolution, or there will be more stand-off situations before a compromise is reached?

D: With the state of the world at times, we can't afford to have a major war occur. However, the Union stands by its allies and hopes for the best.

A: Mrs. President, do you wish to conclude with a personal statement?

D: In ending this interview, I wish to remind the World that the Union is not an enemy but a friend. If you need any kind of help, be it from natural disaster or other hardships, we will help rebuild. We've made a more Perfect Union but together we can make a more Perfect World.

A: Thank you for your time and your sincerity, President Dawes.

D: Thank you Adriana for interviewing me. Goodbye.

Adriana: Ladies and gentlemen, those were the clear and precise words of President Dawes. Next program, I will be travelling to Abidjan to interview another female leader: Queen Nkruma Ngige III of Western afrika. Stay tuned to TVEF and I'll see you soon. Good night.

Cadiz, Gibraltar Province, Labyrnna

Emperor Aphras III stood at the docks of the Imperial Navy Yard of Cadiz. These docks have enabled the defense and continued safety of the Empire for as long as it has existed, and the location of these docks in this bay near the Straits of Gibraltar has given it a fabled history that has spanned millennia. It is no surprise to the Emperor in this case that the main naval base of the Empire would be host today to the Union Navy in their journey across the Atlantic Ocean.

As he stands there with the Minister of Defense standing next to him along with a small entourage of security, he cannot but help to contemplate what sort of events may unfold from here. As many in the Empire and across the world are aware, the Empire's opinions of Orange-Bourgogne's recent actions has been abysmal to say the very least. Furthermore, the particular incident near Ottoman waters has sent metaphorical ripples throughout the world. The combination of these opinions and events can lead to some potentially unsavory outcomes, but as the Emperor had stated in previous weeks, he was ready to defend the Empire from whatever troubles may lie ahead.

As he stares at the blue waters of Cadiz Bay, he cannot help but see the truly impressive fleet of Union ships laying in harbor. Such a showing of military strength through some of the most important waterways in the world not only indicates to the Emperor that there is such an erstwhile ally on his side, but that it will almost certainly be a wake-up call to some of those in Westminster. Or, at least, the Emperor hoped that would be the case. After considering this, he called over an aide and informed him to request the highest ranking official available from the Union Navy.

Such troubling times warrant such discussion, after all.

Commander Jackson looked towards the English coast, a mere 15 miles away. The task force was taking care to remain outside the 12 mile limit and was sailing in a single line formation with the carrier further to starboard near the Labyrnnan coast. Having been alerted the Oranges had aerial assets in the area he smirked

"Seem they know we're in the neighborhood but I expected more of a response. A pity really...I wanted their sailors to see what a real navy looks like. Helm, keep us on a steady course. And Comms, have the Hancock get within 1 mile of the limit and stay in contact with both us and the Oranges. It's only fair they know just how close we are afterall." Union Fleet in the English Channel
~ Royal Naval Forces HQs, Orange-bourgogne

For several hours Brigade Admiral Robert Sainsbury RNF had been monitoring the manoeuvres of the Union Fleet from Imperial Eagle. At first he found it interesting to see how the Union would deal with the baseline. Yet, after he saw that they stayed well-off the borders of Orange-Bourgognian territorial waters, he had no real further interest.

However, when he saw that the Union Fleet closed in even further after some more time, he once again gained interest in the matter. ‘So they do have some courage to come near to our coast’, he thought. ‘Well then, if you really want it that way, you can have it.’

Admiral Sainsbury called with the Defence Secretary, informing him that the Union Fleet was closing in on our borders. The Defence Secretary then agreed with Admiral Sainsbury that some kind of message had to be sent that the United Kingdom of Orange-bourgogne was not to be messed with.

A squadron of stealth fighter aircrafts was sent into the air, and they speedily moved themselves towards the Channel. In the meantime, the Royal Naval Forces also contacted all of His Majesty’s Warships in the areas nearby. Admiral Sainsbury got back to his map in the Briefing Room and started to think of the best way to deal with the present situation…

Five minutes later.

The squadron of the Royal Aerial Forces had arrived at the location of the Union Fleet, and now circled above it. They closely monitored any and all changes in the course of the Union Fleet. Wing Commander Timothy Montagu RAF thought it time to present themselves right before the eyes of the Union, so he flew his airplane under the clouds and flew alongside the Union ships at a mere distance of only 50 metres with a speed of approximately 800 kilometres per hour. After him, two more jets followed his example and did the same.

Yet it seemed that the Union Fleet was not impressed at all. They did not change their course in the slightest. So, Wing Commander Montagu made the decision to give one final warning, as the Union Fleet had now located themselves within one mile of the territorial waters of the United Kingdom.

His entire squadron, twelve fighter jets in total, buzzed around the fleet. Two of them also shot flares near the fleet, but not too close for the flares to accidentally hit any of the ships. “Good work, mates”, Wing Commander Montagu said through the intercom. “I am sure they will get the message now. Let us create some distance between them and ourselves. If necessary, we could always close in on them rapidly.” Yet before doing so himself, Wing Commander Montagu sent this message to the Union Fleet:

“The Royal Aerial Forces have intercepted your fleet. Do not close in on our borders any further. Change your course accordingly at once. If you fail to comply with any of these demands, we will receive that as an act of aggression and an act of war. This is your final warning.”

Commander Jackson looked on with amusement as the RAF buzzed the fleet and could only shake his head in amusement

"Helm, Keep on the same heading. We're still outside their waters and thus breaking no laws. Comms, advise the Hancock to maintain their heading and watch their radars carefully. If they think they're the only ones with stealth fighters...well they're going to learn soon enough."

Just as he finished giving orders, he heard the Radar operator say fast moving contacts coming off their starboard, the fighters from the Enterprise had arrived. Grinning more, he looked out towards the coast and nodded in satisfaction.

"Balls in your court now. What wil you do? Fire on vessels that are not inside your waters or chicken out? The choice is yours friends..."

Union Fleet in the English Channel
~ Office of the Prime Minister, Orange-bourgogne

Prime Minister Nichola Pankhurst MP had called for an emergency meeting with some of the most senior persons from Orange-bourgogne. Attending this meeting were the Defence Secretary, the professional heads of both the Royal Aerial Forces and the Royal Naval Forces, several other senior members of the armed forces, a representative from Londinium Palace, and several other senior politicians.

A direct communication was established between Wing Commander Timothy Montagu and the Prime Minister’s Office, so that all present in her office would know exactly what was going on.

Nichola Pankhurst MP (Prime Minister): “What is the current situation, Wing Commander?”

Wing Commander Timothy Montagu RAF: “Prime Minister, the Union Fleet, apparently led by the USS Texas, is still closing in on the baseline of our territorial waters. They are now well-within one mile of the border. We expect them to be within our territorial waters within a minute if they do not alter their course.”

Nichola Pankhurst: “Is there any sign that they will comply with our demands?”

Wing Commander Timothy Montagu: “No madam.”

The Prime Minister walked away from the phone for a minute to look at the map laid out in front of her. She looked at every single person before going back to her seat and give her final orders. Some nodded, others only looked worried. But all remained silent.

Wing Commander Timothy Montagu: “Prime Minister, the first ship is within ten seconds of entering our territorial waters. What are my orders?”

Nichola Pankhurst: “Wing Commander Montagu… Sink it.”

Union Fleet in the English Channel
~ F-35 416, Royal Aerial Forces

Wing Commander Timothy Montagu RAF had just received an order to sink the USS Texas. He communicated the following message to the USS Texas:

“This is Flight four-one-six to the USS Texas. I am instructed by His Majesty’s Government to warn you that if you do not respond to my orders at once, I must engage and sink your ship. You have reached the baseline of Orange-Bourgogne’s territorial waters. Do change your course to the southeast immediately.”

The ship, however, did not respond but followed the baseline instead. Therefore Wing Commander Montagu positioned himself to open fire upon the ship. The remainder of his squadron protected him and half of them went out to intercept the incoming aircraft from the USS Enterprise.

As Orange-bourgogne had done everything in their power to settle the matter peacefully, it was now time to use less diplomatic means. Wing Commander Montagu once again flew alongside the ships, but as he approached the ship closest to the shores, he dropped a bomb fifty metres away from it, resulting in a massive fountain of water and an underwater explosion, which visibly shook the ship and presumably made several instruments, especially the more sensitive ones, malfunction.

The squadron prepared for another attack, but finally the Union Fleet seemed to come to reason again as they slowed their ships and made a minor course change. This resulted in a reluctance for further aggression and Wing Commander Montagu ordered his men to abort further attacks until new orders to engage would come.

As soon as Wing Commander Montagu annulled further attacks, he reported the situation back to Westminster, where they felt extremely relieved that it hath appeared to be that yet another skirmish came to an end without any losses.

USS Texas, English Channel

Commander Jackson looked out from the bridge with an eerie calm as reports flood in that several systems had suffered malfunctions, key among them the railgun systems. The system was up and running again but Jackson just nodded in apparent approval.

"Well well....they do have balls after all. Are there any wounded from that bomb going off?" He asked the XO

"No Sir. Only things that are messed up are some of the AA weapons and the railgun systems. We've rebooted the system and it's back on line now. The Hancock also reports no problems. Your orders Sir? Do we return fire?"

Jackson just shook his head as he looked towards the coast. The fleet had moved away from the baseline and was now in a steady course 6 miles from the limit.

"No need Sam, It went better than we thought. We held our fire whereas they dropped a bomb. Thankfully no damage but it is nice to see they do have some bite to their bark. We'll keep to the operation and circle the isles before heading back to Brest. Keep an eye on their ships and planes. They're gonna watch us as well."

As he finished speaking, he turned towards the bulkhead door and waked out, heading to his quarters.

The General Manager of the Men's National Ice Hockey Team for Qing China, Ru An, will attend this meeting.

Board of War --- ENCRYPTED TO Imperial Eagle

In light of the recent 'skirmish' between the Union and the British Crown, know that the Qing Dynasty is prepared to support the Union in their endeavours. Military or otherwise.

Officially, the stance towards the OB-led occupation of Jeju Island is cordiality, but between both our nations, we seek the decolonisation and destruction of the British colonial hegemony, and the rightful return of Jeju Island to the Korean people under our Dynasty.

If requested, the Qing Navy can marshal a carrier strike force, consisting of 1 Type 055 missile destroyer, 1 Dokdo Helicopter Carrier, 1 Ulsan class frigate, 1 Jianghu V frigate, 4 Chungmugong Yi Sun-shin-class destroyers, and 5 Chang Bogo-class submarines to assist if needed.

Encrypted reply from the Department of Defense

As we hve learned, no loss of life has occurred and it is likely that the status quo will be maintained. Also, as our ships were still outside UK waters, it will be viewed by most that the Union did no wrong, broke no law while the Orange-Bourgognians will be looked upon in a dim light for opening firing even with no loss of life or damage. Though we appreciate your offer and should a hostile power act against us in the future, we will know you offered and call for your aid
