Intermarium union

Intermarium union wrote:Ministry of Defence - Announcement

In 2017 the Ministry of Defence officials and navy officers have started to work on a project referred to as the 'Orka', whose aim has been to determine future needs of the Navy with regards to submarines and to prepare a base for future negotiations. Consequently, Minister of Defence of Intermarium Kazimierz Lisiewicz has initiated talks with Saab Kockums AB corporation earlier this month. The goal of these talks has been the acquisition of 3-4 new diesel-electric submarines based on either the Gotland or A-26 class. New submarines are to replace Intermarium's aging fleet of submarines of Kobben and Kilo classes. The whole process of acquisition of new submarines is expected to take several months; the submarines could be launched and commissioned for use by Intermarium's Navy by late 2021 or early 2022 depending on details of the order.

Ministry of Defence - Announcement

Following the previously mentioned talks and contract negotiations with Saab Kockums AB corporation, the MoD is pleased to announce that an agreement on terms of a contract for the “Orka” project has been reached. On behalf of the government of Intermarium the contract was signed by Minister of Defence Kazimierz Lisiewiecz, who applauded the results of the negotiations and said he is looking forward to future cooperation with Saab Kockums AB corporation.

According to the terms of the contract, Intermarium will acquire a total of 4 diesel-electric submarines of the Orka class, based on the oceanic segment of the A26 class fitted with a Mark 4 Stirling air-independent propulsion (AIP) system, for a total price of $1.890 billion ($472,5 million per unit). The vessels will be built and launched in the Saab Kockums AB dockyards and later moved to Intermarium's Gdynia shipyards for finishing works. In Gdynia shipyards the ships are to be tested, outfitted and armed and ultimately commissioned for the use by Intermarium's Navy. The first batch of two ships is to be supplied in Q4 2021 (126 RL days; December 6, 2019), while the other two ships will be delivered by Q2 2022 (151 RL days; December 31, 2019). Once operational and ready for deployment, the Orka class submarines will replace the aging Kobben and Kilo class submarines that are in service with the Intermarium's Navy as of now. Crew training and other services are included in the contract and Intermarium's navy officers will be gradually and continually educated and trained on the use of the new ships starting in early 2020.

National Strike Day 2: Even stronger
~ OBBC News

While three million demonstrators gathered to take part in the 3-day-long National Strike against the Inclusive Society Act on its first day yesterday, that number has been blown away by the estimate for the second day of the National Strike. In total, it is said that more than seven million people participated in one of the many protests nationwide.

The largest of these protests was held in Westminster City, where approximately two and a half million people turned up to demonstrate. Despite the vigorous opposition to the Inclusive Society Act, the demonstrators remained remarkably calm. There were a few minor incidents of damaged properties, but the number of arrests did not exceed one hundred, a police official told us.

On the other hand, the police was taking all potential threats to order and calmness extremely serious. They too turned out in relatively great numbers. All leaves have been cancelled for officers in Westminster City as well as Birmingham, the Internal Affairs Secretary announced yesterday after the numbers of protestors were made public.

One demonstration in Amsterdam was cancelled, because the police had been anonymously informed that one of the groups who sought to attend the event would bring firearms to the scene. Social media footage shows that the police did not hold back there and demanded with violence that the people went back, using batons and horses.

Prime Minister Nichola Pankhurst MP herself did not pay much attention to the demonstrations: she is on a temporary leave to her countryside home to “recover from the busy parliamentary work” for a few days. It is expected that she will return to Westminster the day after the National Strike ends, a source told us.

The Westminster City Stock Exchange (WCSE) lost some of its value, but economists say that the fall was “expected and is relatively mild so far”. One argument for this is potentially the now ever more visible opposition to the Inclusive Society Act, and the hope it brings to investors that the Government will eventually come to sense and repeal the Act, even though so far no indication has been given that such a thing will happen. In fact, Mr John Brand MP (Vox Populi) announced that a counter-demonstration will be organised tomorrow in Amsterdam to show the support there is in favour of the Act. The police has already been informed and will make sure that the two groups will not be able to directly face off each other, as that might cause an outburst of violence if the talks get angry...

President Marcos Pérez “You know this will cost us a billion dollars. Not metaphorically by the way.”

Chief of Staff Cristian Armenta “The American’s have ships. Labyrnna has ships, hell Furstia has an aircraft carrier and you basically called them out on national television last week.”

Commander Sebastian Montoya “Not to mention we are in a region that has dealt with Neo-Nazi uprisings not to long ago.”

Pres. Pérez “They mostly dealt with those uprisings, and 2 of those countries are allies. Furstia and Viertoise are nations I will agree the western world will have to deal with at some point, I’ll concede.”

CoS Armenta “Let’s get a cost estimate on purchasing and maintaining an aircraft carrier, or at least a fleet of amphibious assault ships.”

President Pérez ponders, with the thought of the next election on his mind

Pres. Pérez “Alright. Let’s get the estimate from the Americans. I’ll have the State Department and Defense Department reach out. We will get cost estimates for an aircraft carrier or a fleet of amphibious assault ships. And a rock I can beat you both with.”

President Pérez “Fellas, I am impressed with your growth and expansion over the past month. When I first heard about the acquisitions, especially the ones made in the U.S., I was ecstatic.[/b]

CEO of B&R Marine Group Sandra Oliva “Mr. President, I think I can say for all of us that we are excited as well. With this growth we can not only re-invest in our own companies, but into our nation’s economy as well. Already my company is writing up plans for distribution centers on the island of Cuba and Hispaniola, and we are working with other companies to make these high tech. In total we are looking at around 1,000 jobs, with many more to be made.”

CEO of Cortez Coach Group Marcos Cortez “I’m especially excited about our acquisition of G5 Outdoor Supplies and Feed out of Florida. They have a wide range of products and we do plan to open up G5 Feed distribution down here to work in conjunction with the agriculture industry. Our acquisition of RV dealers across the country is simply business, but it’s going to allow us to sell more units that we manufacture as well. We are going to be shipping these units out to the new dealers over the next several weeks. The first ones to see Cortez Coach Brand units will be in Florida.”

Pres. Pérez “Incredible. but why now? Why not before?”

CEO of Origin Energy Ana Saiz “Simply put Mr. President, current internal projects say that the Martín Economy is going to grow, especially based on renewable energy and growth in other sectors. With re-investment, this country can grow stronger as well.”

Pres. Pérez “I’m sure you’re all looking forward to Q3 GDP growth announcements as well. Congratulations all, and I look forward to working together more.”

National News Broadcasting Corporation of Viertoise

An increased police presence within major towns and cities in the (Prince) Edward Island Special Autonomous Region has seemed to fail to deter further separatist terror attacks.

Last evening, at around 11:20pm, a small improvised bomb was detonated in a restroom at a music venue in downtown Eagotsville. The blast claimed the lives of 3 people, injuring 5 more.

Shortly after, at 1:12am, a letter bomb went off inside the Central Prince Edward Island Police Headquarters, injuring 2 officers.

The Prince Edward Island Fusiliers (PEIF), a dissident separatist paramilitary, quickly released a statement this morning, accepting responsibility for each of the bombings. "Prince Edward Island will soon be free of unlawful Quebecois control, and our armed campaign will continue until more autonomy is granted to our region."

The Ministry of Interior Security of Viertoise has officially classified the PEIF as a terrorist organisation, the first time they have used the label for a domestic threat.

The Ministry of Interior Security and the Department of National Defence of Viertoise are now working to coordinate a deployment of 220 Viertoisean National Army troops to the island to assist local police forces, and provide extra security at Viertoisean government buildings and other potential targets of the PEIF.

National Strike Day 3: Innocence lost, patience is up
~ OBBC News

On the final day of the National Strike, things have turned for the worse. Approximately five million people participated in the Province of England alone, and another five million are said to have been involved in other protests across Orange-bourgogne.

With no sign from the Government that the Inclusive Society Act will be repealed, or indeed that any change whatsoever will be made to it, the protestors were much more aggressive today when compared with the previous days. For example, slurs were sprayed on homes and businesses, and threats were made by both sides.

More than 70 people, including about 15 police officers, were injured in clashes in a suburb of Birmingham today as extremist demonstrators fought with riot police during an anti-Inclusive Society Act march attended by more than 25.000 people.

The injured from this particular clash in Birmingham were transported to a nearby hospital. In the meantime, officers confiscated five petrol bombs, numerous tear gas bombs, and sticks. The protestors wanted to march past the local government’s head office, but the police created an exclusion zone to keep them away. Violence broke out when some of the protestors tried to break the cordon. Our reporter said that the march began largely peaceful until a section of the group pushed forward in an attempt to break the police lines to reach the government buildings. Riot police reinforcements moved in to hold the line, but within minutes it turned into a violent and ugly confrontation.

Despite police charges, minority protesters’ groups held their ground. Mounted officers were deployed, as the streets virtually became a battlefield. Stewards tried to restore order, but were overwhelmed by the demonstrators who continued the fight. Marchers at the end were unaware what happened at the front, and remained relatively calm and well-behaved. Some rioters on the other hand even taunted the police. They were met with tactical movements by the officers who tried to break up the protestors into smaller groups. Most rioters wore masks and scarfs to avoid identification.

Two hours after the fighting began, the marchers finally began heading to a playing field for a rally. There the tensions calmed down, and later the protestors began to return home.

More on this later.

Respected members of the council,

I would like to thank you for reviewing Infiny's official application for membership of the organization, and I am happy to hear that the evaluation has been favorable. Allow me to quickly address the various provisions that you have named;

- The provisions for the free trade of goods and services between members of the European Free Trade Organisation and Infiny will be accepted. We would, however, like to know whether this provision automatically extends itself to partners of the EFTO, such as Infiny and the Qing Dynasty.
- The right for individual member states to refuse the entry of products and services which do not meet the relevant legislation is unequivocally accepted.
- The absence of influence of this treaty on individual agreements between Infiny and individual member states of the EFTO is also accepted.

Therefore, we have no objections to anything outlined in your kind response, with the exception of the minor question in the first point. We are looking forward to many years of prosperity as a non-European partner of the EFTO.

Royalty hold rally in Alexandria, police watch on
As the government passes the Cradle to Grave bill with diversion of Oil funds to finance the initative, Alexandria is gripped by a rally held by Princess Helen Veranos, the last remaining royal from the royal family. In the 70's, Mursia was still ruled by a Royal family and although most of the world liberalised, the Veranos's still ruled absolutely but the peace was kept when the old Anax Theodore ruled benevolently, but in 1968 his son Anax Cyrus rose to the throne. He stamped his authority by rounding up opponents and democrats who opposed his rule, claiming he was appointed by god to rule. His reign lasted 6 years, until his tyranny was too much to bear and the palace was stormed by University militants with the Anax and his two sons killed in the fighting in the palace. The university militants took the reins of the country in an unusual revolution as the military leaders family were in the palace, meaning they had the unique opportunity to craft a new country with the Athenian Democracy system. However, that system has come to an end and the entire royal family wasn't wiped out. An uncle of the royal family survived the revolution, dying in 2010 but leaving behind a daughter who claims the throne. Helen Veranos has held rallys in Alexandria today claiming that the position of Archon is rightfully her's, as she wants to instate a constitutional monarchy. She claims to have been overlooked in the creation of a new constitution, in which she was held in custody by militiary forces during the attempted coup, for "her own safety" but she claims it was to stop her making a claim to the crown.
