Political and geographical map

As you can see, here's the map of Jerakhstan. For almost a year our proud researchers, subsidized by the Ministry of the Culture, explored our land in order to designate with precision the diversified areas of our Country. We divide this Factbook in two sections: a political section and a geographical section.

Political section

As you surely know,The United Democratic States of Jerakhstan is a federative republic actually located in Lazarus and ruled by our leader Jova Dimawela. What you surely don't know is that our Country is divided in 13 States which are composed by a certain number of regions. 5 of this States are islands that they're named as "The 5 Archipelagos Site". All the States have a president and each of their regions have a Prefect. But both of this two charges answer to the Leader who governs Jerakhstan and now held by Jova Dimawela. Each State has a Capital City where there are all the offices of the State and each region have a Chief City where there is only a "Regional Building", usually a don't so great construction, where the Prefect works and execute his functions.
The States are the follwing:

THE LAND

  • Stawela Albahan Jerakhan (The Jerakh City State|but the English name is the official one)

  • Stawela Mati (The Mixed State)

  • Karwela Verdi (The Green Horn)

  • Dasawelai (The Deserts)

  • Drawa Risi (Only Rivers)

  • Lawabama (same in English)

  • Stawela Gatahan (The Cat State)

  • Drawa Ni (Only Snow)

THE 5 ARCHIPELAGOS

  • Tra Slawela (The Three Islands)

  • Demewela (The Circle)

  • Slaweli Mughan (The Jungle Islands)

  • Telwela Orwa (The Luxuriant Land)

  • Plamya (same in English)

Here's below the political map of Jerakhstan.

Geographical section

We can start saying that Jerakhstan has an extremely various environment. In fact a just one look to the main map is enough to understand this interesting and charming variety. But, although the notable differences between the natural areas of our Country, is necessary to read this part of Factbook to realize (and we hope, to know also how you can move into Jerakhstan if you want to travel here) the spaces which make up the Nation.
  • Snowy areas: Are represented by the WHITE and cover a large part of Dasawelai, Drawa Ni, Lawabama and Stawela Gatahan. There are some little snowy areas in Stawela Mati and Telwela Orwa but they aren't as big as the previous ones.

  • Mountainous areas: They are represented by the BROWN. It seems that the predominantly mountainous areas aren't so frequent to sight than other ones. They mostly made by young mountains, so they're really high. The higher mountain of Jerakhstan is the "Freedom Peak" with its 7940m which is located in Drawa ni. The others are:
"The Equality Peak", in Stawela Mati (7800m); "The Cat Peak" in Stawela Gatahan (6890m); The "Luxuriant Peak" in Telewa Orwa (6340m).

  • The cold forests areas: They're represented by the LIGHT GREEN. You can sight a cold forest almost always under the mountain ranges. They're famous in the Country because they mostly make up the wood chipping industry... A curious fact! Did you know that in all Jerakhian family there is a little pine tree? Because this is an old tradition which our ancestor, before the Discovery of Jerakhstan, used to do to adorn their huts. Anyway, this areas are located in Lawabama, Dasawelai, Stawela Mati and, in a minor density, in Drawa Risi. We can find also that two islands in Tra Slawela are composed only by cold pine tree forests.

  • The flat land areas: They're represented by the GREEN. It's enough to know that they're the most expanded areas of our Nation and that there we can find the largest cities of Jerakhstan. The Government is actually financing the farming activity to boost the economy and give a job to the not so big number of unemployed.

  • The jungle areas: They're represented by the DEEP GREEN and they makes up a large part of Jerakhstan, especially in the all 5 Archipelagos Site, which are an important tourist attraction. In fact the islands represent almost the 56% of the incomes which come from the tourism industry. In the jungle areas there an incredibly high biodiversity, so you can find animals like tigers, pumas, chimps, parrots and, in the lakes and through the rivers, large fish groups. The other States where you can find jungles are Stawela Mati and Karwela Verdi.

  • The desert area: It's represented by the YELLOW. There isn't so much to say about this relatively small area, except that is located only between Stawela Mati and Dasawelai. There is a little oasi where the few animals in this zone are concentrated. It's also the least expanded area in Jerakhstan.

There are also some rivers and lakes. The longest river is the Risawela Jerakhan which borns in Drawa Risi and flows in the Jerakh City gulf. The biggest lake is the Lagawela Verdi located in the Great Jungle of Karwela Verdi. Below there is the geographical map of Jerakhstan.

So, we hope the reading of this Factbook was helpful and enjoyable! Remember always: "Freedom and Equality".

Mzeusia wrote:
It was the day after the Shimmering Ants had dug in and Antisia was assessing the situation. According to intelligence, there was a portion of Crimson Guard still at the Mountain of Claws, but the main force was concentrated in the Red Menace nest that her army was camped by. The Trapjaw ants had rushed to defend their nest, and Antisia trusted that they could at least hold off the enemy there. That would tie up those Crimson Guard, thereby stopping them from joining the battle at their nest, and the Shimmering Ants could more easily take the main nest.

She waited until dark to cease the repeated skirmishes and press forward. The plan was for a frontal assault combined with teams of ants tunnelling into the enemy nest, taking them by surprise and overwhelming them. The order was given and thousands of ants charged forward onto the ground surrounding the nest entrances. The Major Ants crashed against the enemy first, and fought their way into the tunnels. From here, the fighting would be extremely bloody, but as the Shimmering Ants made contact more ants broke through to the nest in several places, pouring into the gap and slaying the foe left and right.

The battle raged, and despite a stiff Red Menace defence, the overwhelming numbers of the Shimmering Ants proved too much. Antisia was doing battle herself, down one of the tunnels, her ferocious mandibles snapping shut, formic acid leaving red ants twitching on the ground. Casey herself was fighting in a different tunnel, and the walls pressed around her as she took out ant after ant, having already dismounted from the Major Ant she had ridden.

Little by little, the hopelessness of the situation brought several enemy ants to their knees, and they surrendered to the invaders. Within the hour the nest had been cleared of all resistance. The other ants were taken out of the nest and forced to kneel in the dirt. As they were doing this, the Shimmering Ants took care of the brood, and hauled the carcasses of the Queen ants out into the sun.

Upon seeing the bodies of their queens, a number of enemy ants cried out in shock and attempted to resist their fate, but they were swiftly overwhelmed. Antisia approached them as they were forced into a line. The remnants of the nest were gathered before her, and with a steely gaze she gave the order, staying silent the whole time. With a nod of her head, the enemy who had surrendered were set upon and killed by their captors. Antisia gave a grim, satisfied nod and spoke to her army.

"We have won the day. The enemy has no more queens and their colony is therefore doomed. There are still a number of them fighting at the Mountain of Claws, and this, my great warriors, is where we shall now march.

Präfekt-Commander Lina Buchheim was a modest naval officer. The 41 year old woman did not become a captain in the Imperiale Marine to impress others or gain personal glory. No, she always wanted to "do something with people". Originally she thought of becoming a nurse or midwife after school. When she did her year of compulsory military service at age 20, fate (or rather, the Imperial military bureaucracy) had her assigned to the Marine.

She, the country girl from Leonism's northern mountain provinces, who grew up thousands of kilometers from the sea, fell in love immediately. It turned out the camaraderie of a naval crew fulfilled the "doing something with people" aspect better than she had dreamt of, and the sea had been a pleasant change of scenery from the valleys and hills of her home.

After her compulsory year was over, she applied for a full-time military career in the navy and studied oceanography at Blaumeisehaven Marine University. After five years of academic studies, she was accepted into the naval officer training program and began her rise through the ranks.

Now, 15 years later, despite her calm and modest character, she was on the way to become a living legend of the Imperial navy. Over the course of several months, the ship under her command, the Protector class frigate Seehund, had discovered more countries than any other Imperial vessel.

Now, just off the coast of The New California Republic, Lina had added three more countries to her already impressive list in the last three days:

The Außenministerium (foreign ministry) would soon send diplomats to all three countries to establish formal diplomatic relations.

Lina, meanwhile, would continue her mission and follow the coastline of the continent of Thule further north-east...

I have put this in a spoiler as some of it may be distressing to some readers. Reader discretion is advised.

Discretion definition as defined by Dictionary.com 'the power or right to decide or act according to one's own judgment; freedom of judgment or choice'

Snudgeskooge looked out of his office. The day was clear. No clouds, no rain, nothing but bright blue sky. Too bright. He turned from the window when he heard mumbling outside the door. A second later, a servant opened the door and the head of the Imperial Snoodian Intelligence Services walked into the room. The tall and thin looking man spoke softly. ‘The Imperium of Leonism is performing exploratory exercises Your Great Divine Majesty.'

Snudgeskooge looked at the man. ‘Well, as long as they are aware of the no-fly zone above Snoodum, they should be fine.’

The Intelligence Head smiled. Snudgeskooge always thought this gesture was a bit forced and a bit thin, but he couldn’t hire people on the smile they gave, and this man had a long and distinguished career masterminding many critical and dangerous operations in far-flung corners of Lazarus. Civil wars didn’t exactly start themselves after all. ‘God-Emperor, I came here to ask whether we should share our intelligence with the Imperium. They would seemingly benefit from what we know, and we could always use powerful allies in the fight against terrorists, climate change and the many other dangers out there.’

‘Tell the Foreign Ministry to initiate talks. Perhaps there is something they would need that our satellites can provide.’

The man’s smile was back on as he nodded deeply and rubbed his hands together. ‘In other news, Your Divine Majesty, my spies have been getting reports of trouble brewing in Maxtopia. The dictatorship is facing stiff opposition and some reliable little phoenixes tell me the rebels are gaining ground though they haven’t yet breached the capital. I was wondering if I need to reassess our mission parameters in light of the new information.’

This was one of those moments that Snudgeskooge wished he could arch his eyebrow. ‘We’ll hold off on support until we fully understand the situation there. I’ll authorise Special Forces to support the embassy. This is being done to protect Snoodian interests and citizens abroad, you understand.’

‘Certainly, Your Divine Majesty though we are holding the rebel leader’s wife there. The government has been getting increasingly angry with us so if we choose a side in the conflict, it should be done quickly. I could have my agents end the revolution at any time. They have infiltrated Garlo Ferloar’s inner circle after all. And then there are the aid workers we sent to help.’

‘Yes, the Maxtopian government isn’t known for their hospitality. I knew you could do a good job though. No, no. We should hold off, see where the winds are blowing, prep statements supporting either side and maybe some others that justify troop placements. Maxtopia will have Snoodian backing in the end though.’ He paused to take a drink of sugar-water.

The Intelligence Head spoke as Snudgeskooge looked at him through the glass. ‘The skeleton crew of the embassy are increasingly worried the rebels will bomb them. They want to come home.’

‘Yes, I understand their concerns, but we have to be seen to not just land troops in there, using the embassy as a staging ground. It has to still maintain its original function and pulling it out would be seen to be supporting the rebels. We can justify holding the rebel’s wife as supporting either side so far though we can’t remove our embassy.’

‘Yes, God-Emperor, I’ll have my men relay the information. The embassy should be safe for the foreseeable future.’

‘Thank you and do let me know if there are any further developments.’

The man nodded, smiling again and backing out of the room. Snudgeskooge would have to think on this one. Maxtopia was essentially a minefield. Both literally and figuratively. At least it was allowing Snoodian aid workers to develop treatments for child victims of IED’s and shrapnel from barrel bombs. That was one good thing though it was very tempting to send in the troops to restore order. The medical advances perfected in Maxtopia could serve the world a few years from when they were perfected. Even bionics weren’t much use when it came to factoring in the still-growing bones of children. Snudgeskooge shivered, thinking of the satellite images he’d seen of bombed out medical clinics, schools and once-busy shopping streets.

Yours, God-Emperor Snudgeskooge,
May we civilise the world with an iron fist.

Beer leader had a weird flash back while he was painting. definitely a thing he had traumatically blocked out. So right before beer leader tried to get stinky into marriage counseling (which she refused) and before the ultimate break in the relationship (this is literal, not figurative), beer leader and stinky were living at her parents while building a new house. The week before the closing of the new house beer leader and stinky went out for dinner to celebrate their wedding anniversary (11th I believe?). At the dinner, stinky was drinking and accused beer leader of taking too hot showers at her parents house and causing mold to form on the wall. So this was obviously ludicrous, but led to an argument and fight. This led to leaving the dinner early and driving around arguing in the car. Beer leader began to see the triangulation that stinky had always done. Beer leader began to see that stinky always had to blame someone (usually him) tor her bad behavior and misery. Beer leader began to have panic attacks realizing whawhat he had gotten himself into and tried to figure out a way to get out. Even considering suicide (he got into counseling right away on his own accord and onto some anti anxiety medication). He himself stopped drinking (he was drinking very heavily as well which was not his nature). He attempted marriage counseling and talking with stinky. Then 14 days later the break happened. She began chasing him around the new house threatening him and attempted to lock him in to keep him from leaving. His counselor agreed she is abusive and that leaving was in his and the twins best interest. And so on and so forth . . . Just interesting because I hadn't remembered the context of the fight at the restaurant until painting the bathroom today. If any of this makes sense.

NGUVU NA KIBURI has a completely different mission than the other account. but I cant stay amongst hackers so. . . peace out.
