No it like hordes of zombies. It's that kind that they die for a little and then they wake up as a zombie.

Edit: The zombies might (will) eventually evolve and get smarter and stringer and etc

Treadwellia wrote:Although the frequent, unconscious expenditures of Tubbius Magic are naturally burning some of the calories, Dr. Biggenbottom-Tubbius expects that The Chubby Caboose will soon become even chubbier as Tubbius becomes accustomed to this occasional, unbidden Magic use, thus seeing less actual exertion from it and feeling even less drain and fewer ill effects.

The doctor has already discussed the possibility of such things with Mrs. Tubbius, and both have agreed to watch with muffled glee the results. They have even started a private betting pool among the palace staff and the Bellies as to when His Rotundity will begin complaining about needing another trip to Tubbabies or to Big and Tubby because His clothes keep shrinking.

It seems that Mrs. Tubbius Herself has won the first round of the betting pool. Midday grumbling and complaining about Tubblouse buttons popping open on their own and a Tubbex elastic waistband digging uncomfortably into His middle sent a partially disrobed Tubbius to visit Dr. Biggenbottom-Tubbius and his talking scale. Apparently, His Obesity is up fifty pounds in just under three days, now setting the scale to creaking at 12.8 Tubbs. Thus, with a playful jab of pudgy pointer deep into His Immensity's belly button, the doctor wrote an equally playful, emergency prescription out for the Tubbius family to make a trip to Piggy Cliff Mall's clothing stores.

There is the advice, though, from the doctor to mmph MMPH: "Slow down a bit!"

Culture shock in Leonism!

Loftegen 2 tourists visiting the Imperium for the first time report a stunning lack of personal motor transport!

"There aren't any cars!" one person exclaimed in shocked disbelief. "They expect us to take a train, or a bus, or ride a bicycle or- or- or even walk!

Truly a perplexing conundrum: how can any first class nation lack an extensive InterCanton Highway System (or equivalent)?

Will our tourists adapt? Or survive!? Someone should probably write a guide book.

Don't look at me, I hate tourists.

INN International News

The Imperial Tourism Bureau (ITB) issued a joint statement today with the Ministry for Science, Research and Technology (WIFOTE), the Ministry for the Imperial Economy (IVOWI) and the Foreign Ministry:

We would like to correctly recent reports in foreign media whereby there were no cars in the Imperium of Leonism and tourists were forced to walk or use public transport.

It is factually correct that there had been a ban of private cars in several cities in Leonism earlier this year. This at no point applied to Taxis or rental cars for tourists. The ban has since been overturned, nationwide.

It is correct that we discourage the use of private motor vehicles for short range trips under 1 km, however, contrary to some rumours there are no laws forbidding this.

We are confident that the transport options available to tourists and locals alike are by and large excellent. Trains, Trams and Buses have been upgraded in the recent years, especially in areas with lots of tourists. Walkways and bicycle lanes are generally clean and even, encouraging everyone to walk short distances or take a bicycle. Rental bicycles are widely available in tourist areas for small fees.

Whenever personal motor transport is required, Taxis are available. Rental car companies are available at every airport and several city centres, ask for details at your local ITB office.

A vast network of superhighways, the Autobahn, is linking cities and provinces in Leonism. It has no speed limit and a minimum speed of 100 km/h (61 mph)
Foreign drivers are advised that traffic should keep to the right lane except when overtaking. Speed limits on country roads are 100 km/h and 50 km/h within city limits (30 mph).

Whenever you are uncertain about your travel options in Leonism, feel free to contact the ITB or - when already inside the country - visit our local offices, widely found at airports and in city centres.

On behalf of Imperator Konsul Leo himself, who is noted as an avid private pilot, we'd also like to remind all foreigners in possession of a pilot license that General Aviation infrastructure is well established in Leonism and rental aircraft are widely available. Depending on your background, additional training of at least one hour with a local flight instructor might be necessary to familiarize yourself with local airspace design, Imperial air law, radio transmissions and aircraft types.

Perchan and Loftegen 2

While at Piggy Cliff Mall tonight, visiting both Tubbabies and Big and Tubby, His Adiposity had the brilliant idea of ordering up an extra-extra-large pizza as a snack. It turns out that the pizza parlor in the food court does indeed deliver anywhere in the mall. Then again, with Treadwellia being fifth in the world for pizza deliveries, this is no surprise to anyone. Since Mr. Claus was at Big and Tubby at the time, the restaurant even tossed in a free, extra-large bib to cover His Heftiness' lovely, white beard.

Perchan and Loftegen 2

Ooooo! Treadwellia is back up to the 79th most rotund in the world! It seems that His Portliness' decision to order a personal three liter Tubb Cola with His pizza snack nudged the ranking over the edge.

That's a neat idea! :) Also if you ever decide to join the map and were interested, I could create an individual image for your nation including smaller subdivisions and towns etc fairly easily with the program I use.

Is your nation divided into smaller states/provinces/districts? If so what role do these play in governing the country?

Perchan is divided into two main sections; The Imperial Domain of Outer Perchan (commonly referred to as the Imperial Hinterland, or just the Hinterland), and the Imperial City of Perchan, which is divided into 11 Zona. The Hinterland is also divided into Zona, of which there are 3 and they are all named after their capital townships.

I need to think about that because I don't even know how many states I actually have anymore! But thank you for the offer! By chance are you using Cartographer or a different map-making program?

Your imaginary friend wrote:Is your nation divided into smaller states/provinces/districts? If so what role do these play in governing the country?

Denado is divided into multiple different states. The states are governed by the Elector-Dukes of the House of Lords, the noble house in the empire's legislature. In effect these are hereditary governorships that stay within the noble house running them, and when an Emperor passes on every duke is eligible to be elected the next Emperor. Beneath these governorships are county/parish divisions, which are similarly ruled by hereditary counts that form the elector-duke's court and advisors and aid in the management of the individual states. Beneath these are the cities, which are the only truly democratic part of the nation's leadership. Every city mayor is elected in either a direct democratic election or by a republican convention, and every single mayor is considered de facto a part of the House of Burghers. Since the Burghers are directly involved in the management of their individual cities, the House of Burghers convenes seldomly by itself and often is only convened to standardize across the cities of the nation or to bring grievances to the House of Lords. Every Burgher in the House of Burghers has a single vote, and every Lord in the House of Lords has a number of votes equal to the number of Burghers within their demesne. The clergy, while they do hold land of their own in the nation, are considered separate from the actual legislative or executive part of the nation's government (save for the Emperor in Regency during interregnal periods). Their role is primarily more judiciary. There is a lack of king-tier leaders between the Emperor-Elect and the Elector-Dukes, and this is primarily because the Emperor gains the titles of King of Thäne and King of Akkitún as part of his office - in a way, the Emperor's title exists solely as a combination of two Kingly titles.

As a side effect of this particular setup, incorporation of new cities is a time-consuming ordeal littered in red tape, as every new city founded rocks the political equilibrium in both Houses. For this reason, Dinaden cities tend to sprawl or, as of very recently, utilize a lot of very high-density zoning.

Your imaginary friend wrote:Is your nation divided into smaller states/provinces/districts? If so what role do these play in governing the country?

Loftegen 2 is divided into cantons, which select the members of the national legislature. The cantons, via their local councils, select members of the Council of Cantons (upper house) with each canton getting two members; while the people choose members of the National Assembly in proportion to their canton's population. In addition to crafting the law of the land, the national legislature nominates and elects the Prime Minister, and confirms appointed officials (upper house only).

More details may be found here:

Loftegen 2 is divided into thirty-eight cantons whose size and population vary widely. The legislative body of each canton (known as either a Grand or Cantonical Council) choses two people to represent the canton in the upper house of the national legislature (the Council of Cantons).

Each canton is assigned a number of seats in the lower house of the national legislature (the National Assembly) in proportion to its population. Each seat is associated with a district within the canton it is assigned to. These districts are usually referred to as municipalities, although the terms borough and county are used in some cantons.

Each canton is free to chose its own method of electing members to the Assembly. Some hold a canton-wide vote and assign seats to the various political parties according to the proportion of votes they received; the rest vote by district and either require the winning candidate in each district to receive a majority of the votes cast and use a run-off voting system, or use a plurality or 'first-past-the-post' method.

The National Assembly nominates candidates for the office of Prime Minister, choosing as many as six names to forward to the Council of Cantons, who select the winner. Anyone may be nominated for the office (assuming they meet the residency, age, and citizenship requirements), including members of the National Assembly and the Council of Cantons, though if a member of either body is chosen, they must resign their seat at once. Nominees must accept the nomination, of course, and some (perhaps more than you might expect) decline the honor.

This is because the Prime Minister's oath of office is often (but not always) administered by Lady Zaharra herself, and unlike the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (who administers the oath in her absence), she doesn't congratulate the new Prime Minister and shake his or her hand. Instead, she steps forward and whispers in their ear, "Remember, I'm always watching."

Your imaginary friend wrote:

The Imperium of Leonism has a federal structure. It consists of 58 Provinces, many of which were sovereign states in their own right earlier in the Imperium's history. The Provinces have their local parliaments which in turn elects a local Präfekt who rules the province. The provinces send delegates that make up the Imperialer Senat, the upper house of parliament, according to regional elections.

Provinces have a certain degree of autonomy in politics, they are responsible for provincial road networks, the Provincial police units, cultural policies and education. Many Provinces are culturally slightly distinct from their neighbours and often use local dialects in everyday communication.

The Provinces are subdivided into Kreise (districts), these reflect another even more local unit of government. Large cities may be a Kreis in their own right.

The smallest administrative units are Gemeinden (communities). These can either be a whole (small) city, a borough of a larger city or - in rural areas - an assembly of small villages. Each Gemeinde is headed by a Bürgermeister.

The overall principle in Imperial politics is that the closer the administrative unit is to the citizens, the more influence they should have on its politics. Accordingly, democratic control over the Gemeinde and Kreis is the strongest, with frequent elections and citizens assemblies, while Imperial elections only take place every 5 years to allow the government plenty of time to govern without having to go into "election mode" constantly.

Sinyal wrote:Emperor Ja'Hua picks up the line, and talks in an urgent tone to the leader of Perchan. He tells him that they are currently OK in the palace, and the outbreak has not reached the biggest cities yet.

Meanwhile, in the cities in which the outbreak struck, Orofuar, Calnis, and Yuuzigenzer, people are rushing to evacuate, and government employees are helping evacuate the magic area of Sinyal, which is to the south of the towns. Based off aerial view, there are about 100 zombies that have been seen. Choppers are being sent in to try and gun down the zombies, and ground forces are going in to help with the evacuation.

(RP with actual 'characters' fighting zombies coming soon.)

"Sorry to interrupt you, Lady, but there's been a zombie outbreak in Sinyal." The words were spoken by an acolyte who approached her in her library.

"<censored> me!" the Lady exclaimed, throwing up her hands. "Are they realistic zombies or fantasy zombies?" she demanded, sounding none too pleased with the acolyte.

"Fantasy zombies, Lady: the Sinyalians claim a virus is responsible, but these seem to be corpses reanimated by unknown means," the acolyte answered.

"Well, if you already knew that, why isn't Team Z on its way to Sinyal to deal with them?" The Lady's normally black eyes were flickering with red light, a sure sign she was furious.

The acolyte backed away nervously. "I'll dispatch them at once, Lady," he said, before fleeing from her presence.

She glared after him, then picked up what she had been working on. 'Where was I,' she thought. 'Oh, right. An eight letter word for a street vendor's vehicle.'

Tubbius and Mrs. Tubbius are now off to bed. His Corpulence is happily enjoying His new, larger nightgown with its fluffy, soft, pink fabric. His new Tubbra, up two sizes in three days, hangs on a rack near the bed alongside His equally enlarged Tummy Sling and a new red shirt, pair of green trousers, and candy-cane-striped suspenders, belt, and socks. Red loafers rest where fat, flat feet can wiggle into them.

The Tubby One is awake, wobbling about in His nightgown and slippers as He checks on His children in the nursery. He even has gifts for them, bought from Tubby Toys last night: plush, extra plump piggies, one per infant. As He gently rocks Baby Tubbius back to sleep, His Flabbiness thinks again on just how many more little ones Her Motherhood is carrying, undetectable for now by science due to Her magical connection to mothers-to-be all over Treadwellia. There could just be one, or there could be a great many. Either way, Her Gravidity is keeping coy and quiet, maintaining Her special secret with a simple HRM of MORE even after basically two months.

While pondering all of this, His Immensity is reminded again just how comfy this rocking chair is; He finds Himself nodding off again in it after returning Baby Tubbius to his crib.
