The French will be interested in purchasing power, taxes, pension reform and all sorts of things that affect their pocketbook.

Personally, I will support Macron. I find him very competent. There are many reasons, even if he is not right about everything. I am a pragmatist first and foremost.

Hm... competent means adequate, not exceeding.

France Europe is taking no prisoners today lol.

I personally agree with Le pen 51% of the time to Macron’s 49%. Though the thing that kills me on Le pen is her NATO stance. So pick your poison

He is more than competent in fact. But my pragmatism will never make me say that a leader is exceeding.

What is the general opinion on le pen in France, has her support grown/diminished?

Whats her NATO stance?

When you don't live in France you don't realise all the nonsense that Marine Le Pen says. One day she says one thing, the next day the opposite. Her doctrine is simple: say the opposite of what Macron says.

Le Pen's party was founded by her father who said that the gas chambers "are only a negligible part of history". This is one of her flaws. But there are many others: she knows nothing about economics, and the only area where she intervenes massively is immigration, as if it were the heart of politics.

Clarifying, I support Macron more on the Economy, I am a staunch support of the free market and less taxes. I support Le Pen more on Social issues. On foreign policy I ten to agree more with Le Pen.

Many people support her, because extreme ideas always seduce people, like in the US or in the UK I guess, and many other countries. She is ranked 2nd in the poll after Macron.

Basically, leave NATO, leave the EU, say NO to the US and say YES to Russia and China.

So is it a similar situation to last time?

My Number one problem with Marine Le Pen

I liked it until I read China.

China? Something seems terribly wrong with this rhetoric.

Yes... And this is a problem for the french democracy if extreme ideas still have such a big impact. But it's still not certain as there are no official candidacies for now, just a few people announcing they will run.

Supierland

Whoops didn’t mean to suppress that

But that is not all. Macron knows how to organise G7s and international summits and how to change the mind of the Iranian President or force the Saudi Crown Prince to do what he wants. Le Pen, on the other hand, only knows how to scream into the microphones of public radio.

Why do people support her then? Whats her selling point?

According to several experts, Marine Le Pen does not want to win the election because she knows she is not capable of presiding. That's why she sabotaged a bit the televised debate of the second round of the election when she saw that she was close to Macron in the poll. What she wants is to be in opposition to keep her place as leader of her party.

Immigration, Islam, security, border control, anti-EU. She shouts loudly and uses shock phrases.

Interesting, though I would say it is a bit counterintuitive
