A song by Eurielle, inspired by Arwen's and Aragorn's story.

Arwen's Promise

It is done,
I have decided
No going back now

I have seen
And I believe
You'll return somehow

Since the first time I saw you,
I knew The shadows in your heart withdrew

Though the world grows darker every day
And hope seems all but a memory
Nothing can dim or extinguish this flame
Ignited long ago deep within me

It is done
I will be mortal
As I once promised

Long ago
Do you remember;
In the forest?

Since the first time I saw you, I knew
The shadows in your heart withdrew

Though the world grows darker every day
And hope seems all but a memory
Nothing can dim or extinguish this flame
Ignited long ago deep within me
No-one can break my will, nothing can change
My path is laid before me

Closing the gates of the city, until our founder comes back from visiting the undying lands.

Sorry for that. Thanks Arwen!

No problem. A pleasure to see you back.

Back. This time the pyre did no permanent damage.

LOL

Imagine Denethor surviving, getting the bitterness out of his system, and somehow getting along with the new generation... Okay, in Arwen's case, a much older generation. Her birth year is T.A. 241. Actually, Denethor was born in T.A. 2930, and Aragorn in 2931. They might have exchanged memories and grown to like each other? A reconciliation between Denethor and Faramir is difficult to imagine though. Madness or no madness, better stay away from the parent that tried to murder you. That seems an obstacle too high to overcome in one human lifetime.

Wouldn't a son always love his father?, and more in that horrible situation! In my mind Faramir was one of the fairest in Middle Earth, noble as few, so why not reconciliation and Denethor playing with his grandchildren?
