Yea, we are tired and it might be a good idea and lay low for a little bit. We probably should get back home anyway. People might get suspicious if we are gone too long.

Priestess Groa smiles as she begins the story.
"I am a Valkyrie..."
Astrid stares at Groa.
"Go on?"
Groa smiles and takes Astrid's hand.
"You need to understand that we aren't mythical beings that choose who dies in battle. We are instead a group of human-like beings with extra strength. That is how I managed to toss Jarl across the room, it is how I can lift you and carry you with ease and it is how I can eat boiling hot stew! Additionally, we have increased senses so I was able to hear Jarl attacking you."
Astrid looks at her and thinks about what she is hearing.
"So kind of like those horse people from Central?"
Groa laughs.
"In a sense but it's nearly impossible to distinguish us from typical humans. In ancient times people just assumed that we were gods or rather god-like beings in human form."
Astrid nods.
"I think I understand Groa... So exactly how old are you? Does anyone else know?"
Groa smiles.
"Well, if the average human lifespan is 100 years then our lifespan is around 250 years. I am around 70 years old despite appearing only 26 years old. Other than you and Princess Runa, my immediate family knows and my half sister knows or knew rather..."
Astrid nods again.
"Who was your half sister?"
Groa moves closer to Astrid and plays with her hair.
"My half sister was your mother, she was a half breed and I believe Jarl knew and that's why he killed her!"
Astrid looks Groa in the eyes and starts to tear up.
"I have Valkyrie DNA?"
Groa nods.
"That is why we must win the trail and get him sentenced to death! If he is allowed to live then you and I will probably be killed and Runa will become his wife!"
Groa looks at Runa with sadness.
"You have to speak at the trial if you want her to live! Your father may blame you for what happened but you have to risk it!"
Runa nods sadly.
"That is a lot to process. It's so overwhelming and I need to think. Leave us please."
Groa nods and stands up.
"I understand Princess. If you love Queen Astrid then you have to speak!"
Runa nods and Groa leaves the room. Astrid holds Runa close and sighs.
"Please do this!"
Runa nods.
"I know and I will speak..."
Runa closes her eyes and quickly falls asleep in Astrid's arms.
