After Napoleon was defeated the British shipped continental troops to the US to attack, since those troops were now free from having to fight Napoleon. They burned Washington, were defeated at Baltimore, and were defeated at New Orleans. Canadian attacks into the Great Lakes were crushed, the Canadian invasion of the north west territory was also defeated. The Canadian native allies were defeated as well. I have never seen a nationalistic Canadian but the War of 1812 was a draw at best for Canada and a draw at best for the US as both Canadian and US attacks on each other were eventually repulsed by the other side.

“Fighting to a draw is a textbook win.” No? A textbook win is a win. A draw is a win for neither side. Canada maintained its colonial status and the US asserted its independence to the British. Both sides got what they primarily wanted, hence it was a draw.

Highest quality of life but no moon landing, or Mars landing, or Venus landing

I never said that the specific people who burned Washington were Canadian I said most people on the British side during the war were Canadian And we won because you attacked us and we fought it of and defend our self and lost no territory so that is a win. And we'll you went to the moon 50% of your population thinks Jewish space lasers cause forest fires.

Most people on the British side were not Canadian. Most of the original forces on the British side in Canada at the start were Canadian, but over all British soldiers vastly outnumbered Canadians in the war.

By your logic the US won because the US defeated the Canadian invasion and lost no territory. By every metric the war was a draw.

If 50%, which isn’t even close to accurate, think that and yet we still went then what does that say about Canada who has never gone?

No it's a win for us since we were the defenders and it means that you people we're smarter before you broke the new deal consensus.

Again, by your logic the US also won since we repelled your attack. Let’s not forget the British really started things by kidnapping Americans so the US really won since we defended ourselves. At least by your definition of win

No you wouldn't have won because it was a counter attack and it started because of some British trade legestlation that pissed people in New England of, so since it was during the period of time were New England merchants controled the country, they declared war eventhougth the offending trade laws had already been repealed and that fact was In transit to America when war was declared in one of the many ironys of history.

Doesn’t matter, applying your logic the US won since it repelled British attacks and the British no longer kidnapped Americans

You must be from Quebec, where the French influence gives some wild definitions of win

Wentsworth and Tristandecuhna

Before anyone asks, no, I don’t have anything better to do

I don't know what this is about, but I'm gonna say Americans won.

We just can't be beaten in certain things. Wars, science, space, COVID death toll.

Alberta is not that bad.

The best Canadian province by far is saskatchewan though.
