Well, this is about IRL.
We all know about the Global Pandemics ongoing, we are in lockdown here, and I've been reading and playing games to keep my sanity, thanks to my introversion I have little or no social needs, in fact the little social life I have from WhatsApp is just annoying me, because everybody is feeling lonely and is interrupting my meditations (no Darth Vader jokes here please).
Each day I saw what I thought was crazy things from political conspiracy theorists said, the end of paper money (well I was not using it so much anyway), surveillance, and what I fear most:
THE DESTRUCTION OF PRIVACY.
We turn on our smartphones, notebooks or computers, we log in, well, they know were we live, we make a search, they know what we like, and face recognition is becoming acceptable, even desirable by most of cattle that humanity is, always prone to destroy freedom in the name of security.
I sense like we are on the Third World War, not like people made joke about USA and Iran crisis before this happens, but a Third World War against a non-human enemy, the problem is that behind the curtains, like US, UK and USSR were doing while fighting the Nazis, the world powers are changing everything to their will easily, we are adopting Chinese surveillance mode and people is just reading news about celebrities, stalking other people on social media or doing videos on Tik Tok, when they are not making a vanity competition on Instagram of course, dying for external validation, doing anything for a single like.
I am not buying the political conspiracy theory about who is behind that, I think this is happening naturally from 200 years ago to now, with the western intellectual betrayal of our values, since XIXth century they have been on the academia speaking of the necessity of controlling people, thinking themselves as a superior elite, as an academician myself, that we for having knowledge have the right to control those who don't read so much books as we do.
People are falling under control, having their privacy stolen, even worse, having their privacy removed by their own will, just to have positive validation on social media, to see that beauty nude photos or check what others are doing. When we became a bunch a vigilant jerks?
The Internet was a technology made to set us free, it begun as a secret military project, yes, but it was first put into universities and to civilians to share information, it was supposed to grant a refugee of anonymity and privacy, a refugee.
And we are all into it, we don't know the true name of each other here, and this is good, people who want to tell the true name have the freedom to do it on NS game but it is not mandatory.
But on social media, and even if you log into search engines I have my data stolen, my smartphone may reveal my position, and what I think.
Censorship of internet media is going on a full high and I was already concerned about this before the pandemics. What you think may not be put on the web with the risk of having it on the web forever and ruining your life. Your face may be used to track you.
It is a fact that this disease is being used by governments around the world to build control systems that people would never agree before. I'm feeling like on a mix of 1984, Brave New World and Idiocracy. It is happening but people are just trying to be cool and socially "acceptable".
I am beginning to agree with extremist libertarian AND conservative theory that governments and people are stealing our freedoms to profit or have control upon us.
And now, when it's maybe too late I think that maybe THE CUCKOOLANDER WAS RIGHT.
