Fishergate or any member of the Unity Party, what does it mean to be “anti-establishment” when your party is tied to be the largest party in Thaecia and you have many representatives in the government?

Being the person who drafted most of the Unity Party Manifesto, let me explain our idea with that specifically:

When I suggested we should adverstise our party as an "anti-establishment" one, I was more or less considering the fact that neither the PPT, TSP or FAlP had ever governed the region, we were always opposition parties, at best we got the leadership of one chamber or the other, however we never lead the government itself. I thought we should advertise the party as this big tent anti-establishment movement, considering how the people were starting to notice that the TPU wasn't always the best, and how other people in opposition parties were as competent, if not more competent, then those who had been governing the region since it's creation. The fact the party is now tied with the TPU in polls doesen't really mean anything, we have seen anti-establishment parties in real life such as 5SM in Italy get into government, at best the party will need a rebrand when it does get into government.

The party is already in the government, in some major positions too. It seems odd to position it as “anti-establishment” when the party could be considered a part of it, in some ways. To cite another part of the manifesto: “The main objective of the party is creating opposition to the current mainstream political parties.” Again, a potential issue because the UNI is currently a mainstream political party.

No the party itself doesen't govern the region, it leads the House of Commons only, however I would consider the governing the region by itself as having the Prime Minister position, similar to how the Democrats control the House in the USA while the government itself (the President) is a Republican. As for the part referring to opposition to mainstream political parties, that was written back when the PPT, TSP and FAlP were all polling below the TRP and the TPU, the fact our party would grow and poll as high as it is polling today wasn't taken into account when that was written.

Then it seems like some revisions are needed, and the party may need to shift its philosophical focus, given its prevalence in regional politics. Though surely you must have foreseen that combining three parties would have formed a formidable group. In the first TPI Party Support poll following the merger the UNI was the same size as the TPU and significantly larger than the Reformists. Was there a lack of foresight about the inevitable size and power of the UNI?

Well yeah, I think noone realised that when the manifesto was published. I recently brought revisions up with the Unity Party leadership, those should be happening following the current elections.

Interesting, that’s good to know given the current position of the party.

It doesn't change your point, but this just bothers me (don't be offended, I'm paranoid when it comes to the government). The President is not the government, he is the head of the executive branch of government.

Snowflame wrote:Bit of advice, continuously posting your factbook may not be the best way to campaign 😁try engaging in debates with other candidates about policy or talking to the people of the region. That way, they get a better hint as to who you are, something a factbook doesnt do well at describing. Of course, you can campaign how you want to...but I think you'll see a huge difference lol

Something came up so i was very busy so i just posted a factbook when i was available

Hey. I have been inactive due to some RL troubles and unfortunately, until they get fixed, I won't be able to be active again, so kind of good bye everyone. Also I want to apologise for all of the things I have said during that rough period in our history, am sure we all or many at least did things back then that we regret and so did I. So bye everyone, idk if temporarly or permanently.
