SEVEN
A Thaecian Musical Inspired by Auphelia and Six

It should be noted that this story is entirely fictional. If any parties involved take offense to their characters, contact me.

ACT I

The show opens with the seven MPs performing live and in concert, and each of them briefly describes their experiences as a legislator. (“Ex-MPs”) Each one had to put up with some crazy stuff. They then break the fourth wall to describe to us what we’re about to witness: a contest to see who will become the lead singer of their newly formed band. Will it be the fierce The marconian state, the feisty Korsinia, or the quiet and outspoken Great memel? Could it be the loud and uncompromising Fishergate, the inexperienced Rayekka, or the smart and clever Lemonadia? It’s even possible that the newest of the bunch, Greater conexus, could pull off a win. Only time will tell.

The marconian state starts off the race by describing the horrible things he was asked to do in exchange for one of his bills getting passed. Other MPs tried to trade their votes for money, their own bills passing, and even for The marconian state to not dunk on and simultaneously destroy them on the issue of media ethics. He then notes that not once did he give in, and that he found different ways to get his bills passed. He then describes how another MP (Korsinia) tried to steal away favor with the Speaker and now he was almost kicked off his committee as a result. (“No Way”) The marconian state claims that he is unbeatable and that the others may as well give up, but they object.

Since Korsinia was attacked in the previous song, the other MPs decide to let him go next. Korsinia explains that currying favor with the Speaker was the only way that he could fulfill his promise to the voters, since none of the other MPs would take him seriously. He cites his nickname “Godsinia” as a reason why, claiming that because of it, people assume that he’s just a meme. He also notes his young age as a detriment, as the other MPs tend to listen to the senior members of the chamber. He then notes how he was recalled and kicked out of office due to him sticking to his beliefs. (“Sorry Not Sorry”)

Great memel stakes out the next slot, and the others ridicule him, saying that he couldn’t possibly have had it worst, because he was Deputy Speaker, and always had a hand in everything. Great memel refutes this notion, saying that having power meant that he had to sacrifice his ideas and keep them quiet to please the others. He tells of how being Deputy Speaker also meant that he had to stand by his superior through all the mistakes and scandals that rocked his tenure. He then explains that he also had to leave the congress before he was ready, due to health issues. (“Heart of Stone”)

The MPs then collectively head for Pirate Pete’s Pizza Palace, the official restaurant chain of the PPT, for lunch, and grab a table before ordering. As the rest of the group goes up to get their slices of Captain Cerdenia’s Crazy Cheese, Fishergate recalls the many food fights which always seemed to break out here when the MPs inevitably talked politics at dinner and lunch. Just as he recalls how he always ended up covered in random food, a flying piece of pepperoni flies through the air and hits him on the head. Over at the food line, Korsinia and Greater conexus are arguing and hurling the toppings off of their pizzas all over the cafeteria. Fishergate sighs and goes to wash off. (“Food Fight at Pirate Pete’s”)

After the MPs clean up the cafeteria and apologize to the janitors of the facility, Rayekka ties up his colleagues and drags them one by one to his basement. He claims that it’s his turn and says that clearly he had the worst time as an MP, because everyone else thought (correctly) he was a criminal and wanted him removed from office. He then describes how even though he stopped doing bad things and only had a few bad habits left, the other judgy MPs (and judges) never saw him the same way. The opposition was given ammunition against him, and even his own party despised him and secretly hoped for him to leave. He describes how alone he was, and the others get teary and admit that he had it bad. (“Reformed”)

Greater conexus decides to withdraw his name from consideration for the job of lead singer, and Lemonadia is next up. He starts off by describing the raid which he was alienated or left out, but then stops, realizing how this whole thing is... wrong. They should be deciding who the lead is by there accomplishments, not by their grievances. They should be remembered for the good, not the bad. When the other MPs ask who should be the lead singer, he says that they should all share the title. After all, look at their accomplishments. The marconian state and Fishergate both led the chamber. Greater conexus formed a military. Korsinia built an entire embassy system, Rayekka essentially regulated the whole darn government and Great memel ran a giant game for everyone to play! They all did so much and should all be honored for it. (“I Don’t Need That Job”) With only a few minutes left before their day ends, the MPs decide to rewrite their stories and replace the good with the bad. (“Seven”)

Two weeks later, the MPs are all the rage and are topping the charts with their new hot single, “Seven”, and Lemonadia has an idea for their next song: the story of how the band came to be, or “Megaseven”. At the end of their first big concert the MPs embrace, having looked past the hardships of politics, and on to the bond that holds them together. Friendship. (“Megaseven”)

For you Brits, this info might be interesting: the original musical was about the six wives of Henry VIII. Greater conexus does not have a corresponding wife, but:

The marconian state: Catherine of Aragon
Korsinia: Anne Boleyn
Great memel: Jane Seymour
Fishergate: Anna of Cleves
Rayekka: Catherine Howard
Lemonadia: Catherine Parr

One more thing: after the current poll, we’ll be holding a run off of the Oscar poll! “So, You Got Banjected?” and “Godsinia Among Us” both achieved an equal number of eligible votes.

Also, in the Constitution, it appears that the ministerial right to call a snap election has been removed. Anyone have a reason? 🤷‍♂️
