Hey guys quick campaign plug. I'm an incumbent MP and I'd appreciate it if you'd vote for me!

Nova Anglicum for House of Commons!
Introduction
Well it's time for term two. I am currently Deputy Shadow Speaker of the House, Premier of New Thaecia Now, manager of the Citizenship Verification Team, a welcome officer, and a member of the military. I have also authored a constitutional amendment to establish a 6 month term for justices and amendments to L.R. 045. Overall I hope you will vote for me!
My Policies
As a MP, I support:
  • A constitutional convention

  • Reworking the Thaecian Legal Code

  • A 6 month judicial term

  • The use of the Thaempirial Army

  • Increase in party politics

  • Roleplay legislation and the Assembly of Roleplay

  • Transparency in government

My Plans for a Second Term
Overall, this first term has been filled with controversy in the house. I hope to change that in my second term. Specifically I will be doing this:
  • Run for Speaker of the House

  • Push for a constitutional amendment to establish a 6 month term for justices.

  • Get the Assembly of Roleplay Act passed.

  • Reduce restrictions on the military.

  • Increase communication with the Senate and Executive Branch.

Endorsements

New ikesandria wrote:In regard to the debate as to whether the House of Commons and the Senate should have oversight into the military, here is my proposed solution. Apologies in advance if it is vague, but I hope it helps!

Preamble: Following amendments to the L.R. 040 Military Commission Act of 2020, there is some confusion over whether the House of Commons and Senate should have oversight over the military, and the extent of that oversight. Here is a proposed solution.

I. The House of Commons and the Senate should have oversight over the Thaecian Armed Forces. This will allow an extra buffer in order to prevent tyranny and misuse of the Armed Forces.

  • Ia. The Prime Minister should be re-given power over the military, in association with the President and the Secretary of Defense.

  • Ib. The Chairpersons of both the House of Commons and the Senate should deliberate on military matters with the Secretary of Defense.

  • Ic. Both the House of Commons and the Senate must agree by two thirds vote whether to declare war on another nation or region, and then said declaration must be approved by the President and the Secretary of Defense. The Prime Minister does not have to cast a vote in this situation.

  • Id. In terms of defensive war, in which Thaecia is attacked by another nation or region, it is up to the President whether to return hostilities or not.

II. All other amendments filed that do not interact with the House of Commons, Senate, and the Prime Minister's military position, are considered to directly affect the military, and not it's governing body.

  • IIa. The previously mentioned amendments in Section II do not need to be changed in order to resolve the HoC and Senate oversight issue.

I have memorized a few of my favorite color names, such as chartreuse, which is a better green. Use the above list to determine the color name you want. The hex code is also provided. However, these 140 colors may not satisfy your needs. In that case, I have a couple of useful resources. LinkThis is my personal favorite html colorizer. It provides gradients and hex codes, as well as bbcode, for the colors you select. This is an example of what it can do. LinkThis is an intuitive color picker, which can help you find the hex code of a certain pixel on an image. These two resources are basically all you need to create a well colored dispatch! http://html-color-codes.info is another useful site, thank Abhichandra for this useful resource.
Applying color
Color can be applied in 3 primary ways: The [background-block] tag, the [color] tag, and the [background] tag.

Examples:
[color=goldenrod]Goldenrod![/color]
becomes: Goldenrod!
This can be used throughout the site, except on the RMB.

[background=goldenrod]Goldenrod![/background]
becomes: Goldenrod!
This can also be used throughout the site, except on the RMB.

[background-block=goldenrod]Goldenrod![/background-block]
becomes: Goldenrod!

This can also be used throughout the site, except on the RMB.

Alternate Way:
You can also use hex codes to apply custom colors. The hex code for goldenrod is #DAA520. Use

[color=#DAA520][/color]
instead of

[color=goldenrod][/color]
Aaaand... that is all you need to know! If you liked this dispatch, upvote! TG me if you have something to add, questions, or suggestions! You can use these three tags to create headlines, well colored dispatches, and more!

I got a Factbook with the links to all active party manifestos right here:

The Unofficial Guide to Thaecian Political Parties
Note: This is not made by the Thaecian Government. I cannot guarantee that the parties listed are currently active. If you have any comments TG me.

Solidarity Party of Thaecia (SPT)
nation=dendrobium/detail=factbook/id=1468375
"Solidarity is a progressive and positive popular movement and one of a wide arrangement of parties and organizations in Thaecian politics. Concerning Thaecian politics, we are generally speaking of the progressive and interregional side of the political spectrum; wishing to constantly seek ways to improve our wonderful region and to co-operate in a peaceful way with our neighbours. That mentality has been and still is at the roots of our beliefs in what we think Thaecia should look like, and will become clear throughout this manifesto."

Thaecian Conservative Union (TCU)
nation=marvinville/detail=factbook/id=1508814
"Our goal is to uphold Thaecia’s long standing regional beliefs and to revive the focus on regional politics where we can return to our best days as a region. We stand with the idea of bringing back friendly party rivalries in the region where we can bolster regional politics once again."

Examples:
[color=goldenrod]Goldenrod![/color]
becomes: Goldenrod!
This can be used throughout the site, except on the RMB.

[background=goldenrod]Goldenrod![/background]
becomes: Goldenrod!
This can also be used throughout the site, except on the RMB.

[background-block=goldenrod]Goldenrod![/background-block]
becomes: Goldenrod!

This can also be used throughout the site, except on the RMB.

Alternate Way:
You can also use hex codes to apply custom colors. The hex code for goldenrod is #DAA520. Use

[color=#DAA520][/color]
instead of

[color=goldenrod][/color]
Aaaand... that is all you need to know! If you liked this dispatch, upvote! TG me if you have something to add, questions, or suggestions! You can use these three tags to create headlines, well colored dispatches, and more!

You should telegram MPs. You need 3 sponsors to get it on the floor, and from there you need 2/3s of the HoC and Senate, and 3/5s of the populace. In depth process of idea -> bill -> law is this: Resident comes up with an idea, writes it down, TGs MPs, gets 3 of them to sponsor the idea. The idea is now a bill on the floor of HoC. The bill then needs 50% + 1 support to pass if it's an ordinary law, but since you wrote it as a constitutional amendment, you need 2/3s. From there, if it passes HoC, it goes to the Senate, where it also needs 2/3s of the vote. If it goes through all of those hoops, it goes to a region wide vote.

The Unofficial Guide to Thaecian Political Parties
Note: This is not made by the Thaecian Government. I cannot guarantee that the parties listed are currently active. If you have any comments TG me.

Solidarity Party of Thaecia (SPT)
nation=dendrobium/detail=factbook/id=1468375

Thaecian Conservative Union (TCU)
nation=marvinville/detail=factbook/id=1508814
"Our goal is to uphold Thaecia’s long standing regional beliefs and to revive the focus on regional politics where we can return to our best days as a region. We stand with the idea of bringing back friendly party rivalries in the region where we can bolster regional politics once again."
