Five points to remy

Out of curiosity how long does the RP application process usually take? 3 days or more? I sent one telegram to Toerana iii yesterday but not one to Sho. Should I have sent one to both? Don't want to be intrusive. Just would like to RP. Thanks to anyone who could fill me in.

Toerana iii

Your application will have been seen, it's just the map hasn't been updated yet, as it isn't being updated every day haha.

I remember when glutetartes were used as biochemical weapons. I remember when I recurringly shoved people with them too. How Ignacio II of Maritagnia and Rob Swenson of Badivermeraed being eating buddies lol. How I enjoyed the RP festivals with it's mutant stegos and matamatas trying to bite off peoples' fingers.

Czech Germania is glad to hear that Avalonia is open to hosting a Czech embassy. The Czech Director of Foreign Affairs has been commissioned to Köbarnhavn to meet with a representative of the High Commission for Foreign Relations. As the Director will be arriving with a team of advisors and other officials from the DoFA by tomorrow, Avalonia is encouraged to make arrangements for the meeting as soon as possible.

RP - Köbarnhavn
Emilia Renaldi gets out of her special government-issued ecauto, and walked up into the High Commission for Foreign Affairs, in central Government District. With its 18th-century original building and its shiny new extension towering five floors above the centuries-old roofline, Renaldi enjoyed the building and its recent renovation which added a large atrium with natural light flowing into an inside garden café, and at the top, in her office, she could see all of Köbarnhavn - its hundreds of spires, parks, and the skyscrapers of the western business district at the far west border of the city. Entering her office, she said hello to her secretary, Jens, and into her private office. Renaldi dimmed the glass wall to opaque, with Her Majesty's seal engraved in gold on the glass, and sat down to look over her notes on the meeting.

One by one, her colleagues from the State Ministry and advisors and experts from within the commission entered her office, and when they had all arrived, the group went to the conference room to discuss. After lunch, they were ready, and word was sent to the Czech Government, notifying them that the High Commission was prepared to meet.

The Czech Director of Foreign Affairs Thomas Maier, along with his Deputy and 2 other DoFA officials, arrived at Köbarnhavn by plane. The Director, upon leaving the airport, observed the beauty of the city, of the many skyscrapers and buildings that he and many others had always been led to believe were the product of a capitalistic powerhouse economy. Never had Maier imagined, much less seen, such greatness in a socialist state. Suddenly, he was not sure what to expect of the meeting.

After a few more minutes of driving, the group found themselves parked before the High Commission building. Taking in the glory of the building, appearing so old and yet so new, Thomas found himself even more unsure of what to expect. Walking around the parking lot, the Director, his Deputy, and the 2 other officials entered through the front door of the building.

Dino thalassian mission

2 more hours until October 20, the day of voting. Best of luck to all of the other candidates and check out my very informative, detailed platform for Prime Minister here:

Preamble
Hello, I am Dino. I am running for Prime Minister of Thalassia. For those who don’t know me, I have been involved with Thalassia since it’s creation and was apart of Thalassia’s predecessor region, Pacifica, since February. I am running to bring a revolutionary change to Thalassia. One that can benefit it greatly. For those curious, the following contains my conflict of interests.

Embassy Searching
As a High Commander of the Diplomatic Corps of Thalassia, I am seen as the most senior foreign affairs official other than the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and perhaps the Deputy Foreign Ministers. Nevertheless, my duty is to be seen as a senior official and help look for new embassies.

As Prime Minister, I will continue to do this. I have done a great job at opening embassies between Pacifica and Thalassia and keeping the embassy with The North Pacific. I have also helped the and open more embassies. As Prime Minister, I hope to increase our embassies by a lot, but only if they follow our policy and we deem them worthy.

I also want to make sure any future High Commissioners follow in my steps. Thalassia needs to get its name on the field now or never, and when I say we need to become well known, I mean it in a good way. I don’t want Thalassia to be seen as the annoying successor region to a silly region that opposed the NPO.

I also want to make High Commissioners more into a mentor-like position. They are essentially a senior ambassador, with the permission of the Minister and PM, to seek new embassies and to mentor all new ambassadors.

Foreign Updates
I want to keep Thalassia in loop with all of our Embassy partners. I want to try and push out monthly updates. I will work with the Foreign Affairs Minister, the Information Minister, and Information Ministry staff members to write foreign updates for our embassies. I will then ask the Foreign Affairs Minister to let all ambassadors know to send them out.

Will they always be monthly? Perhaps not. Maybe by-weekly, maybe every month and a half, I don’t know. But I’m open to suggestions on the topic.

Alliances
Before anyone jumps to conclusions, by Alliance, I mean an agreement between more than one region on a certain subject. I don’t automatically mean a R/Ding alliance.

With that resolved, I am open to forming alliances with our currently existing embassy partners. When embassies opened with Tatenda, we intended to have a cultural, special pact. Unfortunately, that never came true because Tatenda right around then was transitioning into its merger stage (it’s still in its merger stage) and Pacifica shut down. But I intend to make new alliances for Thalassia. Whether cultural, roleplay, military (though its safe to say that probably will never be discussed due to a lack of a R/Ding force), or something else.

Potential Minister nomination
I have no problem with keeping Ayeinc as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I’ve worked with Ayeinc many times before and he is a very good person to work with. Especially with his enthusiasm and experience.

Entertainment
At the moment all Culture really does is just act as a Roleplay Ministry. As Prime Minister, I will officially repurpose the Ministry. For now on, it will only serve as an “Entrainment” ministry aswell. I will continue keeping all roleplay matters to it but if thr only thing Culture does is roleplay, we may aswell rename it to “Ministry of Roleplay”.

This new Culture Ministry will host community events and games. Most likely I will have the ministry sponsor a community event every week or maybe twice a week. It could be just a Jeopardy type of game, to .io/other games with everyone in the region online asked to come and join us, and etc.

I will also have the Culture Ministry officially encompass all graphics relating to regional affairs and government. It will want our regional members want to join Culture just to be involved.

Culture will handle both entrainment and roleplay. Making it an one stop ministry shop type of ministry. :P

Alternative route
Alternatively, I could break up Culture into two new ministries. Making having another Minister exist. I will consider this idea too but I mainly think that a mega-ministry is best. I’m open to all thoughts, though.

RolePlay reform
When I become Prime Minister, I will officially establish a Cartography staff and work with the Minister to form a “Worldbuilding Guides” team and expand our “RolePlay Moderation”. I also think we should integrate our Roleplay into a mega Roleplay with another region. We tried that with Tatenda but never officially got released. I think having a mega roleplay map will lead to more roleplayers, bigger culture staff, and more room on the map (essentially a bigger map.)

Potential Minister
I think keeping Toer as Culture Minister is a wise option. Alternatively, other opinions could include Sho, Marit, and Rocky (if he hasn’t the President.) I am open to other candidates, though!

Quick note
I won’t be releasing my full intelligence platform because of reasons. We’re an intelligence ministry after all. :P But, I will disclose as much as I legally am able to.

Intelligence Pact
As I said, I can’t disclose everything. But I will look into forming an intelligence corporation pact with one of our embassy regions. We attempted to make one with Tatenda but never got off the ground. That’s all I’ll say.

Covert Operations Reform
The Ministry of Intelligence has a major issue with it comes to covert operations. I will work with the Minister to allow covert operations, but only with both Minister and PM approval and pose tons of rules when it comes to covert operations. I don’t like the idea of covert ops. Especially since we haven’t been the most resourceful when it came to considering them. But they might be helpful one day.

Confirmed Minister nomination
I will be keeping Bad as the Minister of Intelligence. As his Deputy, we have worked to slowly expand the ministry at the size required and helped promote security.

Row Lists
This is something I tried to establish back in the old days of Pacifica and even then-Prime Minister Wymond liked it. I will create “interior templates” for Home Affairs ministry members to use. Then, in a channel, I will post a list of rows of nations you need to telegram. Each row will include 8 nations (the Max you can technically telegram without stamps.) Then, ministry members will claim a group of rows and will telegram those nations with the template.

I will release a full guide within due time and I will work with the Minister to make the templates. The templates will include “Join the World Assembly and endorse the Delegate”, “join the civil service”, etc. You get the idea.

Regional Mentors
I will formally make a regional mentorship team. Every time a new nation comes to Thalassia, whether recruited, randomly found out about us, or found out by us by embassies or Pacifica, I or the Minister will assign a mentor to that person. They will telegram the new nation a template with information and every couple days for one month will continue being TG’d as a check up unless they asked to not get the telegrams anymore.

Gameside Moderation
I will remake the Gameside Moderation team. It will be timezone based. They will moderate the RMB with the Ministers and will promote government updates, events, etc.

Thalassia Republican Armanda?
Again, before anyone jumps to conclusions, this is only a consideration. Most likely this won’t happen, or at least under my term. But it will be considered.

Now, I might consider making a R/Ding military. The catch? It will be liberation/defender only if made. I’m a raider myself as an officer and Captain of the North Pacific Army. But, I don’t think we should become a raider region. As a wise person once said, we don’t want to align ourselves with the ideology of the region which exiled residents of St Abbaddon and caused the official start of Pacifica.

For example, if we have embassies with regions with executive delegates, we can help them in their Delegate transitions. We could act as “fendas” and stop raiders from tagging small regions. Finally, we could in general assist in piles. But in no way should we become a raider army.

This is somewhat more of a Presidential issue so if we do try and make a TRA, I will discuss it with the Cabinet and President.

Potential Minister
I will considering either keeping Wymond as Minister or making The Giled Star the Minister.

Regional Newspaper
I want to work on forming an official regional newspaper. It will be done on images but I think also making a word-transcript one also works. Just put it in the spoiler with the newspaper article with images. Other than that, there’s not much I can expand upon in that area.

Press Secretary
I will establish the office of the Press Secretary. Every few days or every time I, the President, or the Cabinet announces a regional change, the Press Secretary will announce a region-wide telegram to all of the nation’s of the change and link a dispatch of the change and press release.

Radio Broadcast
I think it’s best if we form a regional radio broadcast network with Mixerr or another program. It will be a very interesting concept to implement. It can be used for getting Thalassia out there. The North Pacific does this and so does Europeia and they do very well. We may aswell dip into this field, too. It can also expand Information greatly.

Potential Minister
I am divided on making either Czech or Wisk my minister nominee. Both are very talented writers. I am open to other candidates, though.

The new ministry
To keep Thalassia running, we must grow! I am announcing that I will propose a Constitutional Amendment to have a mandatory recruitment ministry. It’s not mandatory to add a proposed ministry to the Constitution to become a Ministry but I want it to be a permanent Ministry for all PM leaderships. It’s needed to survive and grow.

Recruiter strategy
All ministry members will be added to the official recruiters list. Every 12 hours or every day, I will work with the Minister to have ministry members send out very informative and very attractive telegrams (you can have your own custom ones with Minister or mine approval) saying why you should join Thalassia.

They will send out telegrams the same way Home Affairs will do it. We will also have a row system. I can explain more at another time.

Bringing back the old guard
I like having new blood, but Thalassia needs it’s old members back. I will work with the Recruitment Minister and a group of members if needed to recruit old members back one at a time.

Potential Minister
I am open to applications for Minister if elected.

Deputy Prime Minister
I will appoint the first Deputy PM upon my election. It will be one of the Cabinet ministers I trust. I won’t say who will be my Deputy PM until I confirm my full Cabinet, whether during or after the election.

Their only job is to be my main advisor, my back up in my absence, and to Chair cabinet meetings. That’s right, I will be delegating meeting chairship to my Deputy. It will be similar to how the irl U.S. Vice President is the President of the Senate.

Chief of Staff
Probably my highest civil advisor will be the Chief of Staff job I am forming is to just be my main advisor excluding the Deputy PM and to schedule Cabinet meetings and Prime Minister questions. They most likely will be someone who used to be a long time Minister, former President/PM, or even a non governmental official that’s very active and someone I can trust.

Advisory Board
I will be forming an official advisory board. They most likely will be either very active residents or former ministers. They will advise me and the Cabinet on how to run this Administration.

Community Discord
I’m very wary on making a new community discord. The only reason why our government discord is safe is because it’s private. Plus, we have proven to be a very active community onsite community instead of off site.

If people have any inquiries, I will make an official onsite pinned list of contacts or put the list of contacts in the welcome dispatch. It will include my and the ministers’ discord contacts and maybe even Skype contacts if any of you still use Skype. :P

But anyways, I personally don’t support bringing back the community discord. But once we get 200 or 300 members, become more active, more people ask for a community discord, and we can work on a new security system, then I might consider a community discord. But at the moment I don’t support bringing it back and not a main worry at the moment.

Also, you can read my full stance on socializing the Government discord here.

I will add more to my platform over time. I am open to all suggestions and willing to compromise.

RP - Central Office of the High Commission for Foreign Affairs

A cheery receptionist greeted them upon entry. "Væljekomena! Welcome!". After quickly typing their arrival down into her interface, she guided them to the elevator and up to the top floor. In the elevator, she handed them each a small little pamphlet to learn about the Avalonian trade system, as well as a copy of the simplified text of the treaty that Avalonia is constitutionally obligated to when it comes to neutrality and demilitarization. She told them that she hoped it may have some useful information for them.

THE AVALONIAN FREEDOM
The High Commission for Foreign Affairs

The Imperial Welfare Union of New Camelot of Avalonia
.

Terminology

Freedom, in the Avalonian context, refers to the Imperial Welfare Union's unique material economic system. While the first idea conjured by the Freedom may be the state of being free from something, in Avalonia, Freedom refers to a centuries-old state policy of goods and services being provided without direct charge to the people. In Old Avalonian, the Freedom is "Frejdereijket", and is formed by "Frejde-", meaning offered for free, and "reijk", meaning the state/entity. It was translated to Freedom in the way the Avalonian word for Kingdom, "Dreijnarjareijk") is translated: Frejde/Dreijnarja (Free/King) + Reijk (dom).

Today, the Commonwealth refers to the political organization of the nation, and the Freedom refers to the economic organization of material goods and services (as opposed to post-materialist aspects, which characterize Avalonia's post-materialist economy. We in Avalonia sometimes refer to the superstructure formed by both the State and the material Economy as the Commonwealth-Freedom. For instance, an embargo removing a certain nation from being able to trade with Avalonian companies or deal with the government may be characterized as "An embargo implemented by the Commonwealth-Freedom". Though in an official capacity, we refer to Avalonia as the Imperial Welfare Union, many politicians also refer to the nation as the Commonwealth-Freedom when expressly not referring to the post-materialist economics. When talking purely about the material economy, many say the material economy, or iron economy (Using the Old Avalonian word Isijenkomonij) as we call it, but some say Freedom if they are referring to the economy in the material context of everything being free, or in the context of international trade. Today, for Avalonian Citizens and Permanent Residents, and select other status-holders everything is free, but for some status-holders, not all goods and services are free, meaning that not all those in Avalonia are in the Freedom. The separate materialeconomy for those not with statuses granting access to the Freedom is referred to as the Exchequerie. But in Avalonia, as a post-materialist country, the economy refers mostly to the post-materialist aspects. The post-materialist part of the economy is referred to the Amssjajlshandele (Meaning Soul-Trade in Old Avalonian). Therefore, the Avalonian Economy refers to and consists of both the Freedom and the Amsjajlshandele (shortened as the Amsdel). To refer to the state and only the Amstel, the Welfare Commonwealth is used. In the context of this article, economy is used without specifying reference to the material economy, as it is generally understood that economics in regard to the Freedom refer only to material production and consumption.

The History of the Freedom

The idea of Avalonian Freedom dates back to 1672, in a southern province of Suèditje Region Avalonia. In 1672, the southern Suèditje state of Skaaåne attained semi-autonomy from Avalonia. They established their own neutral, non-militarized government, and as a province with a well developed (material) economic support system, the state extended their existing support to the inhabitants of Skaaåne to encompass all goods and services. Many would call this communism, but in reality, it was the earliest view into Avalonia today - a democratic, egalitarian society of state-owned industry serving all people. The state named itself The Freedom of Skaaåne (Skaaånes Fririk), it was called, meaning that everything was free in Skaaåne. The name was changed in 1673, to the Commonwealth of Skaaåne (Skaaånes Samäldet), and Freedom was instead used to describe only the materialist economic system. In 1738, after the Matignon Revolution and the Great Disunion Collapse of 1733, the Commonwealth of Skaaåne was integrated into the Duchy of Köbarnhavn-Stenorholm, and the system ended.

In 1745, Her Majesty The Queen Amalia, who is considered the greatest of Avalonia's enlightenment rulers, and who had a keen interest in economics decided that the system should replace the existing welfare system at the time. This was an extremely expensive proposition, one that was met with much opposition by the nation's elites. But with her and the Royal House's vast fortunes as the largest private interest in Avalonia's economic empire, the Royal House funded the a three-decade transition into the freedom, which paved the way for the thriving economic system Avalonia has in place today. These original three decades, from 1745 to 1775, contain the origins of many of Avalonia's economic terms. For instance, for those in Avalonia, like Tourists, who do not have free access to goods and services, are instead part of a separate economy, known as the Exchequerie. This comes from the Her Majesty's Exquequerie, which was the Royal Account established in 1752, to manage the requests of special Aristocratic families that requested special goods and services for their lavish balls and social events.

A Breakdown of the Freedom in Avalonia

This brief overview references statuses that are assigned to all people in Avalonia, and to some people outside of Avalonia. You may find information on the tiers and statuses here
.

**Note: This document uses the words Goods, Services, and Opportunities here. As defined by the Ministry of the Economy and Her Majesty's National Ombudsman, Goods refer to articles with intrinsic use or value. It can include anything from an electric vehicle to a organically cultured tomato, but excludes money and securities. Services can include plumbing services, going to a restaurant, education, healthcare, and wifi. Services refer to activities performed by one for the interest, benefit, or requisite of another, as well as the provision of certain resources and systems. The latter refers to State Services, the provision of important resources like electricity, water, wifi, healthcare, education. State Services are only available through the State, and can not be receive through Free Access of Goods or Opportunities. Opportunities refer to a small amount of goods, services, and experiences sourced outside of the Freedom for which Avalonians would require foreign currency. Opportunities include vacations out of the country or studies in another country. Most times that an Avalonian leaves the Freedom, they will be receiving Free Access of Opportunity through the Opportunity Stipend.

The Right of Access is central to your place in the freedom. The Rights of Access, also known as the Freedom Right, defines one's access to the Goods, Services, and Opportunities that the Freedom provides. All Permanent Residents (even if that status is temporary) have Rights of Access, meaning they have free access to the Freedom Economy's goods, services, and opportunities. Statuses 1-3 and 6-9 have the Rights of Access.

If you are a citizen or a permanent resident (Status 1-3):

  • Everything is free (Goods, Services, Opportunities)

  • Tax rate is 100%

The reason for there being no difference between Citizens and Permanent Residents is that all Permanent Residents may receive citizenship after 6 years, and the Avalonian Government does not distinguish between the Citizens and Nationals in matters of all other rights, except for voting abroad. There is, for the most part, effectively no difference between Citizens and permanent Residency.

If you are a Special Status Holder (Tier Four)

  • Everything is free (Goods, Services, Opportunities)

  • Tax rate is 100%

If you are a Temporary Resident without a Special Status (Status 4 Holder):

  • Goods and State Services are free

  • There is no income tax, but there are special payroll taxes

If you are a Permanent Resident of a Special Economic Zone:

  • State Services, with the exception of Education, are free. Education comes at a special income tax.

  • There is no income tax.

If you are on a Visitation Visa

  • State Services are free

  • No income tax rate, as there is no work permit for Visitation Visas

We hope this has been informative.

Foreign Goods and the Avalonian Freedom

In the unique Freedom system, varied choices of goods exist, yet foreign trade is not managed by the individual entities that directly provide such goods to Avalonian consumers. Instead, foreign trade is managed by a massive economic administrative superstructure that balances Avalonian needs and desires for foreign goods.

The system of Avalonian exports is simple - an order may be made through the Avalonian Economic Repository, and through an efficient order system, the goods then arrive on the shelves of the foreign country. As part of the Avalonian Economic Repository, all goods are labeled according to their industry, and their individual company. For instance, a Francés Soap produced in the Provence would be Provence-Anjou French Soap UIR. Geographical markers are also used for specific lines of a company. For instance, as shown above, the Pré de Provence is used for certain types of soaps produced that are exports to certain markets. It is easy to spot Avalonian produced goods - they will have a Company Name (ending in UIR., standing for Unionized, Incorporated, and Registered), and then the Foreign Goods Distributor's name, Sonderburg Incorporated Commonwealth. With regards to trade policy, as a full integrated global exporting economy, the Avalonian Government always pursues reduced tariffs for Avalonian Goods.

Avalonian imports is more complicated. Avalonia imports many goods from many countries, majority of which are free market countries. When goods leave a free market country, they cost money, and the nice businessmen and women expect to get paid for their goods. But when it arrives in Avalonia, in the established Freedom, the goods are totally free, to be taken by an Avalonian that has need for it. In between those two stages, as money must have been exchanged between the Avalonian Government (which buys all foreign goods on behalf of the Avalonian people) and the business that produced the goods, there exists the massive Avalonian importing superstructure.

Essentially, the Avalonian government manages the supply of goods to Avalonians to not eclipse the demand excessively.

The Avalonian Ministry of Consumption: This Ministry distributes and monitors the consumption of both foreign and domestically produced goods. There are two important commissions: The Avalonian High Commission on Foreign Consumption, and the Avalonian High Commission on Domestic Production.

  • The Avalonian High Commission on Foreign Consumption monitors the consumption of foreign goods in Avalonia, and distributes them throughout Avalonia.

  • The Avalonian High Commission on Domestic Production monitors, controls, and distributes the production of goods inside Avalonia, and monitors the consumption of the domestically produced goods inside Avalonia to decide how much should be sold on international markets. In reality, the HC on Domestic Production operates as multiple industry-specific commissions, which receive information and directives from the central High Commission.

These two commissions work hard to keep stable the supply of all goods for Avalonians and it is their biggest priority to make sure that the eclipse of demand by supply does not grow wasteful.

STEP ONE: CONSUMPTION BUDGET
The two commissions use value indicators of the per capita budget and the national budget for consumption. They then use data of consumer trends to carve out of the budget the amount of money needed for foreign goods consumption in one year. The other money is used to go back into Avalonian domestic industry. Every purchase made in Avalonia has a record sent to the central Ministry of Industry. There are hundreds of thousands of processors and backup processors making sure that this information is kept safe and back loaded, so that in case of a malfunction, there is excess data to keep the economic information production, and therefore the nation, running smoothly. Records are also printed to paper, which can be processed in the extremely unlikely event of a malfunction that effects all electronic processors. There are twenty five automated timber farms and mills that ensure the records do not run out of paper supply.

STEP TWO: TARIFFS
6 months after establishing the budget for foreign goods consumption, and 6 months before the goods will be bought and enter the Avalonian Freedom, the two commissions meet and decide if anything has changed - if domestic industry will need more resources, etc.. After doing so, if there is a need for more resources for Avalonian domestic industry, the Avalonian High Commission on Domestic Production and the Avalonian High Commission on Foreign Consumption will set tariffs together on the goods they established a need for the year before.

These tariffs will come into effect 3 months later, 3 months before all goods will be bought and enter into the Avalonian Freedom. This is a little different for agricultural goods.

STEP THREE: PREPARATION:
For the next three months, 6-3 months before the goods are bought and enter into the Avalonian Freedom, the Avalonian Ministry of Consumption will work with the Avalonian High Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Avalonian Commission for Foreign-Bound Goods Production (A sub-ministry of the Avalonian High Commission on Domestic Production) to settle any trade disputes that might arise due to the tariffs set. The Avalonia Ministry on Foreign Consumption will also monitor trends for consumption of foreign goods. For Avalonian Tariff Policy, if a tariff is placed, there is usually a 1-2% wiggle room set.

STEP FOUR: GOODS BOUGHT
For two months, the Avalonian Commission on Foreign Consumption works the budget out, preparing budgets, factoring in tariffs, and preparing Blue Papers of Demand. They meet with the producers of foreign goods, the businesses, etc., that they may order from. Then, after those two months, and one month before the goods will enter the Avalonian Freedom, the Avalonian Commission on Foreign Consumption finalizes the Blue Papers of Demand and publishes it, as the Whitepaper on Foreign Consumption. They then order from their chosen companies the chosen goods, and for the next month, the goods are on their way to Avalonia! When they arrive, they enter the Avalonian Freedom, and are made available to Avalonians.

Please note: this explanation explains this as though all goods are bought at the same time. This was a simplification of the process, in reality, goods are planned out to be ordered, and rationed over the year, so that the supply always meets the trends of demand for the specific seasons. The commissions review trends not holistically from one year, but in seasons, even breaking them down into months and weeks as they plan the order of goods from abroad. Some industries function faster than others, which is why the High Commission for Foreign Consumption has many sub-commission departments. The agricultural imports, which are imported on a weekly and even daily basis, for instance, enter the country through a process much faster than the one explained above. All departments have special sub departments to react to any shortages in other countries, or any contamination crises of goods that will be ordered.

When they reached the top floor, Emilia Renaldi was waiting for them. With a pendant of the state seal, and Her Majesty's Government pin, on a white blazer, High Commissioner Renaldi had a degree from the nation's top school, a powerful position in the government, a successful marriage, and a style of subtle and understated modernity. Featured as the Woman of the Year in three magazines in the past two years, and as the Fifth Most Powerful Avalonian, Renaldi's office was constantly bombarded with requests for interviews, appearances, and keynotes, almost all of which were unfortunately turned down. But none of this would help Renaldi today in the meeting. A foreign nation that Avalonians didn't know much about, this meeting would be baseline educational. If she was lucky skilled enough (Renaldi hates the idea of luck), the meeting could be productive. Putting out her hand, she greeted the foreign dignitaries with a smile and a Welcome, and guided them to the conference room, with its wide views of Köbarnhavn and portraits of Her Majesty and the Prime Minister. Sitting down in the sleek and comfortable seats, she asked them how their journey has been, and if they could share a little bit about Czech Germania.

“The journey’s taken us quite a while, and I, if not my colleagues here, as well, am exhausted. Although, I must say, the city here is beautiful, and refreshes the mind after long hours on a plane,” responded Maier to Renaldi.

She then asked a second question, to which Maier responded, “What Czech Germania is like is dependent on which part of the nation you’re referring to. In the West, blue and silver skyscrapers block out the Sun, whenever it can be seen beyond the grey sky (which is one of the things present all over the nation), and advanced technology is seen around every corner. In the South, many everyday items are manufactured and shipped across the nation. Items that are to be exported are shipped over to the East, where the majority of Czech exports flow out of. The only area that the Czech economic boom hasn’t yet hit is in the North, where the cold climate and close proximity to Yaldia (with whom relations have been shaky for a while) have essentially made the region into a gigantic military base, with over 300,000 troops deployed or awaiting deployment in border cities.

Overall, I’d say that the majority of Czechs have a good life and good reason to be proud of their country, but that the government often exaggerates our image to the people and to the world. In my opinion, it’s good to get out of Czech Germania every once in a while and witness the glory of other countries like Avalonia, so that one doesn’t get caught up in the clouded politics back at home.”

The candidates for the sovereignship of Maritagnia arrive to meet Edward I of the Owl Archipelago. "Nice hair! Try some glutetartes!" In fact, the best course of action is to-" Of course, before he could start blabbering his mouth off, Caroline comes and matter-of-factly states that, "Enough about strategems right now. We are to give the King of the Owl Archipelago a tour of the capital. Also, Claro, stop bringing out those boxes of glutetartes, they are for the others."

King Edward had a tour of the capital of the Kingdom of Maritagnia, San Agustin. He got to know the place better and every time when he spotted a pub he memorized where it was.

The king decided to go out in the night. He went to quite a lot of pubs in the streets of San Agustin and drank a considerable amount of alcoholic beverages. He never ate a glutetarte. Surprisingly, the king managed not to pass out before returning to where he was staying.

Why YOU should vote for Czech in the PM Elections

  1. He's experienced in the Ministries
Czech is an active, experienced member of multiple ministries whose active and has played a key role in Culture, contributing heavily to the projects we put it. Alongside this, he's the Deputy Minister of Information, which actively works to ensure everyone is informed, knows what the government does, and slowly works to make it more transparent.

  2. He's active
Activity is a of great importance to the role, and voting for Czech ensures that the role will be filled by an active, experienced, well respected member of the government.

  3. He's community focused
Czech's primary aspect of his campaign is that he is community focused, wishing to open up the government, make it more transparent and encourage membership. He wants the best for the community, in terms of both activities and safety. His community orientation will work to ensure that the government is working with the region as an entirety in mind, not just those within the government.

Vote Czech - 20th-23th of October

Disclosure: Unlike everything else on this nation, this is not government related.

Are there any specific rules for the rp?

Lopinia wrote:Are there any specific rules for the rp?

Yes, we have RP rules and guide on the WFE

Thalassian RP Rules and Regulations

Hey, welcome to the Thalassian RP rules. These rules are in place to provide a fun and friendly RP experience for everyone.

1. Rules

Nations wanting to participate in role play on the Thalassian RMB shall:

1.) Have a dispatch containing their role play stats, which has been checked and declared valid by a Stats Distributor.

2.) Always follow official RP stats when participating in role play (for example by not exaggerating their nation's military size beyond its actual, official size) and use NationStates stats as a guideline for other areas of RP (for example by making sure their population's average IQ in RP is somewhat close to their NationStates IQ stat).

3.) Abide by RMB rules.

4.) Type [RP] at the top of each of their RP posts on the RMB to differentiate from Out-of-Character writing.

5.) Try to maintain realism while role playing by:

a. Transporting troops realistically (not moving hundreds of thousands of troops, much less in an insanely short amount of time).

b. Keeping their technology at or below a level of advancement coinciding with the loosely modern time period that Thalassia's RP is set in.

c. Accepting defeat in war and not writing the plot in their favor when it is unrealistic to do so.

d. Listening to RP Moderators when told that their actions in RP are unrealistic.

6.) Write RP posts in the third person by default or, if they wish to write an RP post in the first person, indicate at the top of the post the perspective it is being told from, and never write from the perspective of their nation in the first person. (Third person is "The nation of [blank] declares war on [blank]," while first person is "I run down the street." Role players may not write as their nations in first person.)

7.) Not perform RP actions on behalf of other nations such as, if fighting a battle on another nation's soil, declaring the weather conditions in that location, since the weather in a nation is in the domain of that nation only.

8.) Follow all orders given by RP Moderators, and deliver to the Minister of Culture or Prime Minister any complaints they may have in relation to those orders after they are followed.

9.) Only participate in wars if they are on the regional role play map.

2. Moderators

The following nations will moderate the regional RP, with hopes of preserving fun atmosphere for every nation participating in RP:

1.) Arenado

2.) Czech germania

3.) Zentata

How To Get Started
To Get Started in Thalassia, you're going to need some essential things for the roleplay. This will help your roleplay experience, and while may take a little bit of time to set up, depending on how much free time you have, it will enrich your roleplay experience and make roleplay easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

The Map
The Map is the primary part of Thalassia's roleplay, it places everyone in a set geographical location to progress and create interaction between neighbours, friends and allies. Alongside this, it adds a sense of realism, making sure that everyone knows how far away they are from each other and how long it will take to travel places. This can be crucial in times of war, as the map also gives nations geographic features to work with, mountains and rivers, alongside the Ocean in its entirety, allowing key choke points for trade.

The Map is mandatory to partake in wars and Roleplay Events, every member of the regional roleplay must claim some land on the map to partake in these. As the regions gets larger, there is a possibility we will expand the map.
The Map is located here. To claim a section of land for yourself, telegram Toerana iii or Sho with your desired claim. You can do this by telegraming us using this format:

Nation Name:
Desired Capital City Name:
Desired Nation Slot:
Desired Capital Position [Optional]:

Nation Name: Toerana III
Desired Capital City Name: Derai City
Desired Nation Slot: 5
Desired Capital Position [Optional]: N/A

Dispatches & Stats
Dispatches are required to partake in roleplay. The dispatches only have to be short and sweet, but they have to have some required stats in them.
Theses stats are your Military, Population and GDP. You may retrieve these stats by telegramining Czech germania or Toerana iii requesting these stats.
The proper format to collect these stats is as follows:

Hey,

Can I have my roleplay stats for Thalassia?

Thanks
[Name]

You are permitted to update these stats once per week by telegraming either of us to retrieve an update. Only stats inside dispatches are valid, roleplay mods and Culture staff keep a record of all stats. The Dispatch for the stats may be as extravagant as you wish, but must include the 3 stats given to you by the staff. It can be as basic as just those 3 listed. For all other roleplay affairs, it is recommended you specify your skills and stats inside dispatches, although it isn't mandatory. For aspects and areas of RP that aren't given to you, we use NS stats as a guideline, allowing people to differ from there stats a bit but not drastically.

Warning - Military includes the Army, Navy and Airforce, the figure given is the number of soldiers at your disposal, not just ground soldiers.

We recommend Ponderosa's dispatch guides located here for good quality dispatches.

Post Differentiation
For all Roleplay posts, it is required you use the [RP] heading to display it as different from regular posts. Failure to do so will mean your roleplay posts are declared as not valid and you may be punished by roleplay mods.

Alongside this, becoming angry and using all caps lock is not acceptable, and you must remember that any posts made with the [RP] tag are not personal attacks or attempts at flame baits on another user, what happens in roleplay has nothing to do with non RP posts and the regional government.
