Curze's flagship, the 'Nostraman Sun' moves to dock, with the other three ships waiting in orbit. After docking, Konrad and his Terminator-clad Atramentar, sans all weapons, step out of the ship and onto the landing platform. Out of all of them, Primarch Curze is the only one not wearing a helmet, although someone of shorter stature would still have trouble seeing his face, due to the ridges of his armor.
The area would be completely dead space, though it would seem this was a purposeful choice. Floating in the void was a large space station of sorts, elegant in its design and curves. Though it seemed unshielded at first, upon closer inspection the space around the station shimmered faintly, though subtly. Some small camera drones floated around the outside of the area, generally monitoring the environment. Though the station itself stood free, there did not seem to be a fleet anywhere in sight. (yes i'm using the same description sue me)
As the corvette arrived, they would likely be greeted with the sight of the other vessels, as well as a now swarming horde of sensory drones that buzzed around the shimmering hull of the station, cameras swiveling and preparing. The small vessel was hailed nearly instantly by the same monotone voice many others had heard.
"Welcome, Children. I question you not for that is unimportant, all that matters is your willingness to accept peace. Thusly, leave any weapons and convictions with your vessel, and please, if you so choose, dock so that my representatives may see to your accommodations. I ask you, be not afraid, for your best interest is mine as well."
As this was transmitted, a boarding dock lit up as a guide.
“You heard them guys. I am going in alone.”
“OK, but... That’s the worst possible idea. Worstest most—”
“<Sigh...> Look. We both know what we got on our side. If push comes to shove, her gift upon us will not be wasted in rightful defence.”
With the slight contrast in ideas, when it comes to legitimacy of protection subsided, Mésru alone steps out, after the ship is docked. Walking out to into the grasp of the station. The same outfit as ever. Half-hesitantly confident in her assessment...
"Interesting. And we have something for you." He hands them a small handheld device. "It's a vox communicator that connects right to the Church. You can also access Sakooran literature, movies, games, and much more."
Tyth and his guardsmen show the Imperial Salute (basically holding their arms out while balling their hands into fists and crossing their wrists together), towards the Dwarven people as a sign of good faith
Eventually, the hovercar arrived and Besaid called Rolling Stone back. Once they were back in the car, Aryn, who was inside, looks back towards them.
"I saw you met with a Lapsian. You know who she is?"
"Vell vee hav' two o' dem who ar' intrinsicly linked. Yer brother Vulkain explained dat while vee would be vassals wee would still be mostly independant. Tha dawë already pretty much work like dat, every dwarven forts is a self-governed democratic nation, tha confederacy only exist ta find a communal ground ta regulate internal trade between forts, create a communal army an' handle diplomacy with otha nations. Wee dinnae mind paying a tithe ta create a communal army, especially if it give us acess ta trade route and new technology. But tha dwarven confederacy is an' alliance where all forts are equal. Bein' a vassal mean being under tha authority of tha emperor and vee are 'fraid dat he vould abuse dat authority. Yer brother sworn he wasn't dat kind of mind, but it vould bee mor' acceptable ta have a garantee it vouldn't happen and vould be ready ta made concession ta get it."
Ulric took his breath, letting Durza continue
"Vee think dat Vulkain was bein' honest but vee tink o' one case when tha emperor and tha dawë might butt heads : how ta handle xenos. Vee had heard dat every alien ya encountered had been woefully hostile one. But dit hadn't bee our case. Fo' exemple one of our neighboor tha Siluth is an' artificial intelligence who wiew intelligent life as holy an' collect biological an' cultural samples ta preserve civilisations an' intelligent species in case o' genocide. Wee are affraid he vould command us ta go ta war with until den peaceful civilisation."
Durza paused and Rorik continued "tis is more dan reluctance ta war. Wee had no problem drawing blade ta defend erselves and wee did so in tha place, imposin' dwarven sovrenity in our territory at gunpoint. But tha imperium is literally on the otha side of da galaxy. If a war with our neighboor was declared it would take lottsa time ta tha legions ta come ta help. Fo' dis reason vee don't vant to lose tha freedom ta deal with otha nonhostile species in a peaceful way if possible.
Bofur took the device before and his men bowed to the sakkoorans "vell, tis is carved in stone den. I hope tis will be tha start of peaceful and prosperous relation. May yer ancestor watch ove' you captain Tyth"
(note this is carved in stone : dwarven espression meaning what is done is done)
Kira was already being herself. Sprinting around and haphazardly firing plasma bolts into the crowd of robots. She's slightly worse for wear, a bit of her fur being singed and a bit of the leg armor blown off, but she's running around just fine.
"Hit the shoulder joints! They're the weak points!"
"Of course. Safe travels, Bofur of Asgard. May the Empress's holy light see no shadows upon you>"
(Timeskip?)
and so the dwarves and the sakoorans went part ways. For now.
(sure. Honestly i tought that would be the end of that perticular rp. We made first contact. But if you have anything to add go ahead. And if you want to start a new one i'mok with it)
(Well, we can finish this one up with a sign of good faith)
A few days afterword, a beeping would be heard form one of the dwarven devices. It seems that the Sovereign was seeking to come in contact with the government.
(hello I am new)
-
Primarch Horus Lupercal:"You need not worry about Imperial hostility to xenos. The Emperor is more than willing to work with xenos that are non-hostile to humanity and the interests of the Imperium. We would be willing to require that Imperial decrees and actions focused on the Dwarven Confederacy or her neighbors go through a dwarven council of sorts for approval. The deal we offer is very similar to that of the Cult Mechanicum, where they are beholden to the will of the Emperor, but still self governing."
(I don't have disord)
(OK how do I get on a map?)
"Cynthia, one of the Sovereign who opened our eyes to Empty Travelers."
the dwarves take a moment to discuss between themselves for a while. Then they turned toward the primarchs. "doose terms vould be very agreeable indeed. We'll still need ta wait for tha council tha give der approval, but it counsiderably improved yer chances"
"open tha channel"
as the operator obeyed Bofur smiled at the camera
"Greeting sakoorians. Happy ta hear 'bout ye"
-
Primarch Horus Lupercal:"Good. Is there anything else that needs discussing, or shall we escort you back to your vessel?"
The camera showed a tall Sakooran female Cardinal, with horns and golden eyes. She smiles warmly.
"Greetings, xenos. I am Cardinal Kilika, Overseer of Science in the Church. As a show of gratitude, I have knowledge of something that may interest you."
"Oh, Lt. Commander Cynthia of the Empress's Will? I met her once back when I was transferring to the Ring. She was in EVA Armor, so I didn't get to see her. You don't find many of her kind in the Sovereign Military. The Lapsians are generally a peaceful people. Citizens like Cynthia are exceptions."
"oh ? Well let's hear it !"
