This is just to give our new members a little run down of how GIA works. You have the freedom to run your country as you see fit and no will tell you otherwise. The only thing that is really controlled is the use of nuclear weapons. All country are automatically signature and accept the Treaty of Peace: Proliferation of Nuclear Armaments (see http://iiwiki.com/wiki/Treaty_of_Peace:_Proliferation_of_Nuclear_Armaments, to learn more) if you do not wish to sign the treaty you have to telegram me. There is still a lot of land up for grabs, and with no strings attached. We don't have an offsite forum and we have no plans on adding one. You can form a new military alliance or join one of the three that are established already. There is something in GIA for everyone. Please be respectful of others and most importantly please play a realistic game.

The Emperor instructed parliament to rectify his proposed bill; “Criminalization of actions of Hate Speech”. The Bill will be applied retroactively and would ensure that hate speech and speech inciting violence against people based on their race, sexuality, gender and religion will be punishable by the State Prosecuting Authority.

This follows a wave of swift crackdowns on fundamentalist organizations preaching against the gay community. Pastor Richard Evans was arrested in Dec of 2018 for such hate speech. He’ll be trialed under this bill and is expected to serve 120 days in prison with a suspended sentence of 10 years. Should he engage in activities like this again he will serve 10 years.

Several organizations against women’s rights, religious and sexual rights have been shut down and all involved in their running will also stand trial and will pay fines, do community service and public apologize for their actions.

The Equality & Representation in Education Act was also rectified by Parliament today. The ERE Act requires that all state and private education institutions prioritize safety, inclusivity and protection for LGBTQ Students. Prescribed textbooks on sexuality and sexual health will be issued by the Department of Education and is to be introduced in June of 2019 to all students from Grade 1-12. Any schools or educators found not be be teaching from this textbook will see their licenses revoked and might even land themselves in legal trouble with the Swanish Prosecutors Authority.

Palace insiders tell that Crown Prince Charl is the hardliner on these issues, pushing for reform in the social sphere of Swanish Society. Many political analysts see this as the crown prince consolidating more power & influence for himself. Many believe the reason the emperor is going along with it is because the prince and his reforms are immensely popular amongst the youth majority of the nation.

All Ambassadors and diplomatic envoys are required to present their credentials to the Emperor on the 15th of March at the Palace of Versailles. As is tradition, diplomats are presented, the Emperor accepts their credentials and diplomats present the royal family with a small gift from their country.

After the presentation, the diplomats and the Royal Family enjoy a banquet dinner followed by a performance by opera singer, Marie Callais.
