Amendments to the Parliament Procedures Act - AMENDMENT RESULTS

Amendment A - PASSED (4-0)

Remove Section V of Amendment A

The vote has only been open for a few hours but the amendment already has a majority of support and I'm keen to move back to voting on the full bill, so I've closed the vote on this amendment now.

Amendments to the Parliament Procedures Act - VOTING

Amendments to L.R. 003 - the Parliament Procedures Act (H.B. 024)
Author: Developing World
Sponsor: Fishergate

Having Article V - Deputy Speakers, specify this:
"i) The Deputy Speaker position will be filled in all situations
ii) The Deputy Speaker will be appointed by the Speaker and can be any MP from any party, excluding the Speaker.
iii) Deputy Speakers can take over the Speaker's role if given direct permission from the Speaker. In the event this happens Deputy Speakers may exercise the rights set out for the Speaker in Article IV. These powers are removed from the Deputy Speaker upon the Speakers return.
iv) Shall the Speaker be inactive for longer then 2 days with the House not adjourned or in recess the Deputy Speaker shall take over his attributions until either the Speaker returns or a motion of no confidence is voted against that Speaker."

Having Article 6 - Shadow Speaker, specify this:
"i) The Shadow Speaker is a formal position held by the Opposition Leader in the House of Commons
ii) The Shadow Speaker can also be Deputy Speaker"

The unconstitutional section has been removed, so we can now begin voting on this bill again. There should be no problems with the bill now, so I vote 'aye'.
