The Bigtopia do you have any new plans for the ministry of foreign affairs if you are confirmed again

Id also like to ask whether there will be set goals for the FAM under The Bigtopia not only to bring ambition to the ministry but to see if the Minister is performing at a good level.

Hello, The Bigtopia.

First, thank you for arriving at Parliament to answer our questions for your nomination as FAM.

As I've seen by looking at the diplomatic corps page, there has been a lack of ambassadors coming into Thaecia and actually give us news of their region. How do you plan on solving this issue? What are your plans in order to find suitable ambassadors for Thaecia, that will actually be active in their region and give regional news on a constant basis? How will you ensure this happens and what can you do to deter inactivity within the ambassadors representing Thaecia? As to add to my colleague's question about your plans. What changes will we see for the FAM if you are positioned as the Minister?

Nope, I didn't complete all my plans last time around ( I was only FAM for about two weeks :P ) so it seems early to come forward with new plans.

Pap Sculgief wrote:Id also like to ask whether there will be set goals for the FAM under The Bigtopia not only to bring ambition to the ministry but to see if the Minister is performing at a good level.

'Set goals' really don't apply too much to today's FAM. All of our embassy regions now have ambassadors from us, so no goals needed there
A goal for embassies is no longer very applicable for us - we already have embassies with most regions around our size that meet our embassy requirements and there's no point in building embassies for the sake of building embassies. We'll continue seeking new regions. but it's not like we need a goal for embassies. As for ambition for the ministry, as outlined when I first came here, I'd like to plan more inter-regional events, continue building relationships with other regions, build more embassies, and start a short newsletter to give to embassy regions.
If someone doesn't think I'm doing my job, they can tell me and I can talk to them or the Senate could hold a hearing

Soooo
Thaecia has had a history of being pretty isolationist. Our citizenry is pretty apathetic to Foreign Affairs after the plethora of bad experiences we've had. I don't make sending an ambassador to us a huge deal to embassy regions because it doesn't matter too much for us. We send ambassadors to ensure that they have an easy point of contact to our region and as a starting point for a relationship between the regions.
See, we tend not to care too much about other regions
Other regions care more about us than we do about them
Therefore, we send them ambassadors and they might not
And that's fine
The diplomatic corps list is not entirely accurate
Most all of our embassies have an ambassador residing in our discord, but not all of them have their nation name as their alias in the discord so I couldn't find all of their nation names when I was making that list
Plus, I'm in the discord of most of our embassies so if we have a question for them we can go straight to them.
Do we really need to know all the happenings in our region?
It's nice to hear it, but it isn't necessary and it wouldn't be wise for us to start closing embassies because they weren't sending a newsletter to us.
I don't establish strict guidelines or supervise our ambassadors because it would be too much work and I trust my ambassadors to do their jobs - their primary job is to be a point of contact for that region, and that's not an especially hard job
We hate it when people try to stick their nose in to our business
Seeing as I was FAM before the new administration was ushered in, there won't be big changes to it if I'm the Minister a second time

I'm pretty tired right now, sorry if these answers aren't well-written or anything

Mr Speaker,
My questions have been answered and I feel confident in The Bigtopia becoming FAM. I have no current concerns and wish to announce my approval of The Bigtopia becoming FAM

In response to your comment about "I don't establish strict guidelines or supervisor our ambassadors. I trust my ambassadors to do their jobs" Hmm.. If you're not establishing strict guidelines for the Ministry or not supervising our ambassadors. I don't see how this Ministry can fit you. If you're not supervising our ambassadors, how will the ambassadors be held to account if something goes wrong with the embassy region? Also, do you plan on establishing strict guidelines for the Ministry? I understand, Thaecia is an "isolation" region. Yet. Referring to your comment "I don't make sending an ambassador to us a huge deal with embassy regions because it doesn't matter much to us" My concern is if we're not receiving newsletters from other regions, were not receiving new ideas, new thoughts that no one could think of. Also, we learn more cultural things from other regions. So my question is; How can you expect Thaecia to grow without other regions' input? How will the Foreign Ministry grow under your leadership without having any improvement plans?

Mr Speaker, to make my point clear, I am not satisfied with the gentleman's response.

Look
I wouldn't hire an ambassador unless I trusted them to do their jobs.
I'm not going to follow them around everywhere
The thing I require of them are the reports
This is a game and I want to have fun doing it and I want them to have fun doing them, having a lot of bureaucracy is pointless and wastes my time and theirs
Most ambassadors have bigger jobs in Thaecia anyways, and it's a relatively minor position
If an ambassador is acting inappropriately it is up to that region to let me know and they know how to find me
If something goes wrong with an embassy region, either I notice it and shut it down or the ambassador lets us know.

You don't understand just how much we are an isolationist region. We don't need newsletters from other regions to get new ideas
New ideas can come from new residents or old residents, they do all the time
We aren't seeing any kind of lack of creativity within the region anyway : /
Look at us
Over the past year we've grown so much
We have totally disregarded other regions' input, such as the Osiris folk, the RA, the AoR, and Altino and other GPers
Today we are thriving with one of the most active regional politics in NS with a great and open community.
Plus, Ambassadors can see those good ideas
I can see those good ideas; since I'm in most of our embassy region's discords I get pinged for events they're having and check them out
Last week Force was holding some pretty awesome events and I forwarded their ideas to Antenion
We don't like being told what to do, why should we tell them that they have to do beyond typical expectations?
News updates are nice but not required
They usually don't have that kind of thing in them anyways, they typically are about regional politics in that region
That's the way it's always been and I'm satisfied with it.
Given my high approval ratings for my last tenure it seems that the region is satisfied with it as well.

Thank you for the response, the answer I was looking for is in there. I have no more questions for the gentlemen.

Speaker rayekka and The Bigtopia

The Bigtopia Do you intend to make some major changes in the way the Ministry of Foreign Affairs operates? If so, which ones?
