Gyuamno wrote:Really, a legislation about where polls are done? Give me a break. It's not an earth-shattering recommendation.
Isn't legislative debates role play? Seems more of an attempt to separate people who want to do legislation versus "role play". Sorry that you feel legislation interrupts your role play and needs to be done out of your eyesight.
I play this game as follows. One nation, one region. I don't enjoy having to bounce between multiple regions and have discord shoved down my throat. Everything can be accommodated within a single, the largest regions in nationstates aren't divided up between multiple regions.

Triwen wrote:Let me stop you right there. Firstly there was a poll going on here hence why the other region was used for a poll.

Second, if you would like to pass legislation on another topic of your choice then please do write one and not complain when someone writes one about a topic they choose. I also remember TMC having multiple reasons at one point, which I presume were used when required.

Third not once did I mention discord nor am I aware of any regional telegrams in the last month having anything to do with discord. In terms of the largest regions you will find that they often have discord or some other form of communication method besides nation-state.

Four I have not said that legislation needs to be done behind closed doors if that were the case it would be done on platforns where people like yourself choose not to use.

Five I'm not here for you to sound off at nor did I say anything for you to get upset about.

Finally I said about legislation as if you wrote one that effectively made the assembly region null and void then everything would be done here.

Chill please. Gyuamno I understand your frustration but seemingly having ago at Triwen isn't particularly fair when he was making a suggestion. You are quite right to say no but what's come across is your effectively attacking for it when he didn't do anything. Now I'm not saying that was your intent but its what it reads like.

Nodenpuff wrote:Why must we have a separate region for this kind of thing? These is something that could easily be handled here in the main region. Adding another "legislative" region just needlessly complicates things.

you were involved in the initial merger discussions and agreed to the proposal when it was discussed. I'm not saying it cant be changed mind but as I have written it into the constitution it would require changes to be made via legislation.

Gyuamno I understand the point your making but the current sistation isn't my fault nor anyones to be fair.

Parakka changed the government system and indeed wrote a constitution for us to have something to effect with legislation etc. Which Parakka said to myself would help to encourage TMC members to participate. Yet since then there hasn't been a massive influx of participation in fact the only participation has come from a handful of RPers, thus its understanble that's where the focus has gone.

We have another general election coming up on the 6th, why don't you run for government then that will give you or Nodenpuff the chance to effect change.

So far to my knowledge my own political party - Solar Liberal Party - will be running (I'm the only member so its a party of one). I understand New wilhelmsland will be running and I presume Civilisunio will also be running. Thus plenty of opportunities for you to run or indeed you guys could form your own party?

Come on Big D, meet us half way! I pinned the proposed legislation dispatch to the factbook. All you gotta do is read it and vote over in The Mystical Alliance Assembly. Come on have a smoothie with me. It's bananaaaaaa.... your favorite.

"Greetings, and thank you for filling us in. We have discovered how to close these portals using technology though I suspect killing the witch who opened them would probably be easier in one sense than using technology.

However, our nation does not posses any mages or magic of our own. As such we are unable to help you in your request. However, whilst the majority of our forces in the Caribbean are tied up in Hispaniola and the Cayman islands, we should be able to spare some forces to aid you as we have done with Timmer.

However, we suspect that Parakka or Vedan and Civilisunio might be your best bet for magic support. Though Vedan in terms of possible magic is still suspect.

Furthermore, Forestavia might be able to supply mages as I recall reading something somewhere about them having some form of magic."

Out of RP

Forest I remember you having magic in SA hence the mention and Vedan / Civ I thought this would be a good way for you to jump into the RP.

Empress Sharp was on the video conference call holding a feather quill in her hand. She was slightly brushing the feather back and forth on the bottom of her chin while pondering New wilhelmsland's proposal. Sitting next to her was the head of Forestavian Intelligence and her political advisor. Sharp answered, "Sure. We can send some of our most highly trained priests on this matter. Forestavia will also send two navy ships to assist. The Titan must be defeated. Demons are energy beings just like us. We can use our skillful knowledge to help bring this insanity that plagues our world to an end. As I understand it our healers - perhaps controversially - view these demons not as enemies but as angels sent to show us something important. We think they're the enemy because what they're showing us is so scary that the message is completely lost to fear. Just by starting with that viewpoint is enough to weaken the power and force of these demons in our world. With perspective and knowledge of energy Forestavia can help defeat this enemy."

I get what Gyuamno is saying and I think some debate should take place here. We are all capable of reading posts and if there is a specific RP post that impacts others then they should be tagged as a matter of courtesy.

That being said and in fairness the TMC guys haven't been overly active including myself so I don't blame the active people for focusing on stuff that interests them

Malazan Empire I support the lore reset.

The Gem of Civilisunio:
Softly the wind blew through Navalterra's luxurious buildings. Navalterra was the crown Jewel of Civilisunio, being home to 3 Military bases, boasting a whopping 12 million people which is 3x as more as Civilisunio's second biggest city, Carson City. The city sits upon a Mountainous backdrop to the west and Coastal plains to the east. The Multa River flows slowly in to the Civilisunioan Sea at the base of the city where riverside and seaside ports line and Skyscrapers tower. Navalterra is an important city for Civilisunio in every way possible. The Civilisunioan Canal extends the Multa River, connecting the Civilisunioan Sea to the Pacific ocean all of which are salt water. The Cold blue pacific meets the cool green River which meets the sky blue warm sea. Ships move tirelessly through the city, and traffic although not too annoying, is abundant. Port Davis lies along the end of the river and is a major launch point for Navy vessels in to the Civilisunioan Sea and into the Multa River. Along the suburbs of Navalterra is Ft. Blue, an Army base which ia frequently used for training and development of soldiers. Last but not least is Ducavem AFB (Air Force Base) which is a technological base where the newest Civilisunioan Technology in Aviation and Weaponry is made. It is also an important launch site for UAV's and Drones. It is also on the outskirts of Navalterra along the Multa Valley, which is a high mountinous area with the highest mountain, Mt. Cuchillo coming in at 17,213ft (5,248m) from Sea Level. The base is only 1,000ft (300m) above sea level making it very looming on the City of Navalterra.

With the Lore reset passing the Demon arc hasn't take place. Though i am a firm believer in letting people having freedom to choose. As such i will be continuing it, though on a massively smaller scale than we have done. This will enable to continue my RP that i have been doing. No one is under any obligation to join in with it.

The world is abuzz as news of the return of the SCS Nordstrom comes in from Reykjavik. The Nordstrom had long been thought lost since she went missing attempting cross drake's passage in 1819, over 200 years ago. Amazingly the surviving crew of 150 humans and 8 elves are alive and well, having seemingly not aged at all the past two centuries. The crewman all appear to be suffering from insanity to various degrees, and all speak of a strange and fantastical realm located at the south pole called Nodenpuff. According to the crew the laws of both time and space work differently in Nodenpuff, and the tales of the Nordstrom crews time there are quite simply put, absurd yet extraordinary. When questioned on just how they survived for 200 years most of the crewman began to panic with one poor fellows reaction going viral on various social media platforms.

"200 Years?!?! But...but I was only gone 1 year at most!!! How could this be?! My wife...my children..everyone I've ever know...there all dead now arnt they? Gods no...NOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Journalists and adventurers from across the world have began journeying to Rekjavic in Hope's of meeting one of the famed Bicenenarians, some of whom have claimed to be preparing a return to Nodenpuff in the near future, and many from the present have expressed interest in joining them in sutch a expedition.

Elias Travers (m) set to Travel to Nodenpuff

It has been reviled that the Napen Elias Travers plans to undertake a scientific expedition to Nodenpuff. This is part of an initiative that has been formed by a number of Parakkan Universities who are all interested in the rumours of time discrepancies in the nation and trying to understand why time seemingly is different there than here. Elias said "This is a great opportunity to discover something different. A lot within our world has been discovered with very few secrets left to be learnt." We asked him how the expedition was being funded and if he had gotten the correct permissions he responded "Yes its been funded by the Universities Alliance who have either donated equipment or funds to pay for the crew or equipment needed. We have tried to reach out and gain permissions but have had little success, we are hoping that we will be given a warm welcome upon our arrival."

ELECTION RESULTS SHOW NEW WILHELMSLAND NATIONAL PARTY VICTORIOUS; JOHNATHAN EVANDER EXPECTED TO BE ELECTED PRESIDENT BY NEW HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

While many predicted that the Nationals would triumph over the Liberals and Torries, there was little expectation for such a wide sweep of the entire government. With over 2/3rds majority in both legislative houses, it would appear that Johnathan Evander has achieved the popular mandate that he has been praying for. As one may expect, Evander is overjoyed by the sweeping victory;

"I am grateful for the overwhelming amount of support shown tonight by my fellow countrymen! Thank you, to each and every one of you! I am excited for all that we will accomplish! Together, we will make New Wilhelmsland greater than ever before! New Wilhelmsland shall be a land rebuilt for all of its people!"

OOC

Hello friends! It is your wonderful Internal Affairs Minister here again! I am here to discuss the Regional Satisfaction Survey that I sent out a few weeks ago. The purpose of this survey was to allow our government a chance to better understand the wants and needs of our population. We had seven total members reply to this survey, with one non-roleplaying member and six roleplaying members. While our region is, obviously, very roleplay heavy, I do feel that simply basing the way our government should be functioning on a 6:1 ratio is a bit dishonest. As such, I will be re-running this survey in the coming days. So please keep an eye on your telegram boxes for that one. Thank you all for your time today, and I hope you have a blessed rest of your day. Please let me know if you have any issues with filling out the survey.

Sincerely,
New wilhelmsland

The old region's under attack...

Looks like Lily and The Black Hawks are having a little competition. Sounds like a band - Lily and the Black Hawks.

The only issue I have with our new party is the spoiler tag. I don't think an RP region should have to spoiler its own posts. That's not really fair to the RPers. That's probably the only thing I would change. Everything else looks good, though.

Exotic Lemon,
Can we add emergency preparedness procedures to our party's platform?

Forestavia wrote:Exotic Lemon,

Of course. I am waiting for the political party to officially choose our leader, I can easily edit in the official laws.

That was not my suggestion, but it was in the group tg so I added it. Again it can be easily changed, just would like to sort out the leadership position.

So how is this whole recruitment drive going with trying to get new people to join the region? I think the number has decreased since the election. Sad.

I would like to know what action has been taken - to date - to recruit new nations to this region. Laharao Civilisunio

Honestly not much as of now. We need to get a recuritment TG campaign going but thats going to take a minute as we need to get a reliable bot, and find someone who wants to use their Stamps. I've attempted to reach out to many regions, especially roleplay who were interested in our culture but really getting in New players is what is holding as back. Some regions go as far as to refuse even an embassy request because of our size which I find to be a little peculiar. Nationstates has gotten a lot more picky since the last time I send an embassy request. As of now if any of you feel uncomfortable with our size and activity level I'd say just try as hard as you can to get your peers or nation friends to come in through word of mouth for now until we can get the details ironed out of how we are going to do this. Stay tuned, more things coming.

Prime Ministers Meet in Madrid

It has been a long ambition of the Union Government to bring Spain into the fold of the Union in some manner. However, as most will know relations between the Union and Spain have always been rocky. This is in part due to the occupation of Gibraltar as the Spanish see it, whilst The Union see it as part of The Union. Furthermore, relations hit an all time low in 1974 when Spain invaded Gibraltar and war broke out for 6 months before an uneasy peace was agreed which returned the territory back to The Union and Spain was also forced to pay war reparations.

The situation was between our two nations where further hindered when Portugal joined The Union in 1982 under the Lisbon Treaty which gave them equal representation in Central Government. However, things improved in 1996 when a treaty of mutual understanding and cooperation was signed that signalled the joint exploration of the Antarctic 2 years later with the eventual aim of forming a joint space program.

Fast forward to the present day and the Spanish Government have decided to accept a request to meet with our Prime Minister to discuss the prospects of Spain joining The Union in the same manner as Portugal. Should this succeed then this would end the despite over Gibraltar not least help to repair the damage done previously by the war.

Yes! It is the Bananna Smoothie party, named in honor of Gyuamno's cat. We were waiting to officially announce it, but I just forgot. The party is open to anyone who wants to join, and our policies and goals are generally legislation-heavy.

The Banana Smoothie party is a The Mystical Alliance political party officially formed on 6/23/20. The group was formed by Vedan, Exotic Lemon, Gyuamno, and inspired by Forestavia/Oakplumington.

Party Membership
Any citizen can join/leave the party at any time, and membership is voluntary. All party members are equally ranked, with the exception of the party leader. Members also are not required or expected to have discord or other outside websites. The party members must also follow general internet etiquette and cannot use this as a platform for hate/discrimination.

Vedan is the party's first official leader.

Party History

Party was created on 6/23/20. It was initially named the Banana Smoothie Party in honor of Gyuamno's cat, but was expected to be renamed.

The Parakkan expidition was fortunate enough to attract some of the nordstroms crew to join them on there expedition to Nodenpuff. "I cant stand this new world." One of them told the parakkans mournfully "I found out that my homeland was destroyed 107 years ago during something called "The Elven Crusade" and my family was likely long dead before that. I desperately want to return to the time period I understand, I want to be with my wife and kids agin. And gods forbid i can never return well...i would rather be trapped in Nodenpuff than this accursed future." Several more men exhorted his words, tho it seems that most of the Nordstroms crew has no desire to return to the strange realm encompassing the south poll, 28 men in total volunteer to accompany the Parakkan expedition.with one of them telling Elias "Just because we managed to come back does not mean that you are guaranteed too, and even if you do theres a very real possibility you will wind up in the wrong time period like we did. If you choose to go know that you may never be able to return to the world you now know. That said there are worse things than a life in Nodenpuff, that's why I'm willing to accompany you. I have no desire to return to the 19th century, but I do want to return to the sea of tea."
