SENATE CHAMBER BUILDING
DINOIUM CITY
_____________________________________________________________

Preamble
NOTING how after the Lotion Union of Nations Civil War, Dinoium has barely been involved in global affairs and has been isolated.

ACKNOWLEDGING that joining the Organization of Strategically and Economically Allied Nations (hereafter OSEAN) would change that and would give Dinoium decision-making powers.

BE IT ENACTED that this august body ratifies the charter of OSEAN.

The Senate President, Peters Frankfurt, walks into the chamber with his gavel. He proceeds to bang his gavel

“This daily session shall be opened for a period of 24 hours. Today the President petitioned us to hold an emergency debate regarding joining OSEAN. I will formally open the discussions to debate. Senators, you may chime in at any time for personal opinions. As per the rules, a mandatory debate period of 2 hours shall proceed. The Honorable Senator from Spoonifo, you became begin.”

Thomas Marais Jr., the son and brother of former and incumbent MoFAs Thomas Sr. and Steven Marais, gets up from his seat. He served as the Chair on Guardian Chuck Charleston and President Frank Woolf’s Foreign Safety and Security Commission and is a former Head Ambassador for the nation. He was elected in the recent special election under the Prooklyn Alternative party against incumbent Senator Josef Nunpatric of the Workers Party.

Thomas has been known for being an interventionist. He believes war isn’t always the answer but he believes Dinoium could intervene in global affairs way more often than it has it the past 20 years.

“Thank you Mr. President. I come here today in support of the ratification of the OSEAN treaty within Dinoiumian borders. Joining OSEAN would be a very effective and beneficial thing to do. It’s been nearly a war since the fall of the Lotion Union of Nations. Our trade with other nations have fell below levels we haven’t seen in years, perhaps a decade. OSEAN is a very pro-trade like pact and could bring in new customs into our nation. I would love to expand trade with the Hong Kong Empire to enrich us with tea and vases.

“Dinoium needs to take the initiative and join OSEAN. Otherwise we’ll be stuck in a nation that acts like a young child whom is hiding in their closet with much potential. I yield the balance of my time.”

“The motion to yield balance of speaking time is acknowledged.”

Shadow Senate President and Workers Party Secretary General Charles Maximum grumbles to this.

“Mr. President, may I have a chance to rebuttal the Honorable Senator’s statement?”

“Your motion to rebuttal the Honorable Senator’s argument is acknowledged and recognized. You may proceed.”

”Let reminds you all something about the Honorable Senator from Spoonifo. Mr. President, wasn’t the Honorable Senator Chairman of the Foreign Safety and Security Commission?”

“Correct.”

“Great. Now, back to my point. When the Honorable Senator was the Commission’s Chairman, that was a major cable leak of a diplomatic discussion between the President and the Ambassador to the Hong Kong Empire where they criticized OSEAN heavily. The job of the Commission is to prevent such leaks and the Chairman must inform the Commission. And actually, his brother, the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, informed him to solve the crisis.

Instead of actually informing the Commission, he spent 5 days drafting his own solution to the leak and ended fainting in his apartment due to the lack of sleep and stress. Luckily, he survived. But he continued to postpone the informal until the President exercised his powers to inform the Commission and made the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs acting Chairman. Even though once he returned to the Commission and his drafted solution was implemented and was praised, he neglected his job to inform the Commission and hurt our chances at previously joined OSEAN.

Why is the President changing his mind now? Obviously he knows that being butthurt for so long about LUN’s dissolution has taken a toll and his party and coalition has almost always backed joining OSEAN after the fall of NPDA. The President is a hypocrite, a liar, and flip flop politician. The workers of Dinoium has been misrepresented for far too long. We wished to join the Warsaw Pact and now our dreams our gone.

I dissent the following treaty ratification and if invoke cloture is motioned, me and the opposition will walk out and you will not have the quorum to pass the treaty.”

The whole chamber is left into silence as Maximum’s voice begins to echo all over. Even the Senate President is quiet trying to take all of this in.

“You- Your dissent to the following treaty is acknowledged and recognized. A show of hands will be made to see how many people dissent the following treaty ratification.”

He bangs his gavel so hard that a small crack is made within the gavel. The room is quiet. The whole opposition attending the daily session raises their hand.

“The treaty ratification has been dissented and will be featured tomorrow with the new joint healthcare plan proposed by the Honorable Opposition Leader.”

. . . . . .

The Senate Majority Leader is working night shift at his office trying to figure out how they can get the treaty ratified. They obviously need a 2/3rd majority and are a few members short.

His phone begins to ring. It’s Senator Marais. He brings up the phone with a big sigh.

“I’m assuming you’re calling me regarding the treaty?”

“Well y-“

He is interrupted by the Senate Majority Leader.

“If that is the case, then I am sorry. I currently don’t have a plan. They won’t attend the vote so we won’t get the quorum needed.”

“Well I am calling you to prove you wrong. So as the Senate President mentioned, the healthcare plan will be debated and possibly voted on tomorrow along with the treaty. My plan is to have the Majority Whip and possibly you to call 1/3rd of the Senate Opposition with the threat that if they don’t attend the vote on the treaty, the whole government coalition will refuse to attend the healthcare vote and they won’t get an quorum. We also say that if they do attend, we will personally commend them and flatter them in a way. We could make it look like they are better candidates for the job of Opposition Leadership.

I say 1/3rd because if we invite all of them, we will fail.”

The Senate Majority Leader is in shock and nods.

“That actually might work. But the Majority Whip is on a leave of absence. Perhaps you want to assist me with the calls?”

“It’d be a honor, sir.”

“Great, I will fax you a list of people you can call. I’ll call the other 1/3rd.”

In the end, the plan had succeeded. The treaty was ratified and went to the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ and President’s office for their signature. Charles Maximum was in fury and especially due to his healthcare plan, which was generally disliked, had failed. This was a start of a victory lap for the Government and President.

To the office of the Premier of the Organization of Strategically and Economically Allied Nations.

Greetings,

I am letting you know of the passage and ratification of your organization’s charter within our territory. We now request for membership within the Organization of Strategically and Economically Allied Nations.

Sincerely,
Franklin Edward Woolf
President of the Commonwealth of Dinoium.

To the President of the Commonwealth of Dinoium,

The Organization of Strategically and Economically Allied Nations welcomes the Commonwealth of Dinoium as its 27th member state. We have no doubt that Dinoium is ready for a new beginning as a full-fledged member of OSEAN, and likewise, OSEAN is ready to welcome your country into our international union. To a new dawn, for your nation and for OSEAN.

TSP Delegate voting continues unabated... dead Lazarene voters and all?

When an InfoWarez contributor shared a fake video of a TSP voting machine automatically casting ballots for a left-leaning candidate, it was just another day at the races in The South Pacific, a region known for it's Linkdelightful dramatic lurching from one consitutional crisis to the next over the past 16 years.

[TSP] “It was the main story all day Sunday and was somehow predictable. Many hoaxes with conspiracy theories circulated in the weeks prior to the voting day,” said Beepee the director of AlternaFactos, a TSP fact-checking organization, told VN in a message. “This was a hoax built on paranoia.”

The lead-up to TSP’s contentious delegate election, which had its first round of voting in the offsite forums, has been marred by misinformation on platforms like FaceRage and WhatShat. A deeply polarized society has provided fertile grounds for viral conspiracy theories about everything from the death of a politician to Lazarus voters rising from the dead to vote in TSP. Fact-checkers themselves have become targets of the chaos.

The fake voting machine video, which both Drystar and fellow fact-checker 073 039 109 032 080 111 112 112 121 quickly debunked, racked up thousands of retweets after being shared by Islands of unity — the son of right-wing candidate Roavin. InfoWarez’ AUPHELIA also amplified the hoax. That doesn’t even take into account Discord, the messaging platform where a good chunk of TSP misinformation comes from.

Over the past few weeks, TSP voters have expressed concern about the integrity of the election, which will end its second round of voting today — despite assurances from both regional and external election officials that voting machines are safe to use. And that distrust has manifested itself in an onslaught of voter fraud-related hoaxes on social media.

“There are tons of hoaxes related to fraud in the system,” said sitting Delegate Erinor. “Election Commissioner Farengeto informed us that only 0.33 percent of the system had any kind of bad functionality problems, so it’s very low. The Order of the Grey Wardens came to TSP to analyze the system, they probably already talked about it, and found that there is no fraud in the system, actually.”

“This is just bad, bad, bad information.”

With just 30 minutes left in the polls, Aumeltopia has taken a 6 vote lead in the week long election most media are saying is still too close to call.

They just admitted it in court, isn’t confession a reason to arrest them? They literally said they put a device on megalodon to makes it attack humans in unprovoked situations

Yukari awakes in a bed different than the one she has now… the mattress was more rugged, the sheets and bed itself smaller. It felt like a twin-sized bed. She somehow also fit on this bed, even though her feet would easily go over the frame.

In fact… why aren't her feet over the frame?

Then it hits her.

“I'm here…” Yukari said in a higher pitched, child-like voice. She uncovered herself from her sheets, and walked over to a standing mirror she had in her childhood and adolescence.

She wasn't her nineteen year old self anymore, no… She was her twelve year old self. Her hair was straighter, she wasn't developed, she was shorter, and her eyes carried an air of… defeat. She even saw her star and moon spotted pajamas sag visibly from defeat.

“How am I here? Why am I here?!” Yukari shook the mirror with her smaller hands, wobbling it. Eventually, she stopped, and began to look around.

Yukari gazed over at her bed, and immediately saw something of interest. A slightly worn teddy bear. It had a maroon bow-tie, and one button eye missing. But it was inseparable from her. It was like… a friend.

“Roosevelt…” Yukari rushed the bear and squeezed it into her arms. “I missed you, Roosevelt…” She held onto the bear for a bit longer, and eventually held onto it's stubby little arm.

Yukari finally scanned the rest of the room. A small desk, with numerous books and papers. A toy box was near the door, and was filled with random bits and bobs.

She didn't find much else of interest in her former bedroom, so she opened the door. The hallway was dark, but still navigable due to the moon shining through the window adjacent to the hallway.

Yukari tip-toed through the hallway to the stairs, and slowly went down. The light was on, and Yukari saw something she thought she'd never see again.

She saw her dad… her biological dad. The deadbeat, slightly overweight, and depressed dad of her childhood. His brown hair was unkempt, and his green eyes oozed sorrow.

He currently held a bottle of booze in his hand, while clutching his progressively growing beer belly. He silently cried to himself while muttering a name softly.

“Itsuka… Itsuka…” He said, the tears slowly dripping down his face onto his dirty t-shirt. Stains of booze and human tears dotted the slightly mangled shirt, the hard reminder that this man was broken.

Yukari gasped somewhat loudly just from the pure shock alone, which got his attention. And that attention slowly turned into anger and rage over time.

“...Brat! It's 3AM! You have school tomorrow, get your a** back to sleep!” He got up, swaying slightly while walking to the steps. Yukari panicked, and scrambled back upstairs into her room.

She heard the thumps of his footfalls go faster, as it sounded like a bull was ready to charge her.

Yukari dove into her room and shut the door behind her, and hid under the bed with Roosevelt.

Yukari heard the door bust wide open, and his heavy breathing. “BRRRRAAAAATTTT!” He screamed at the top of his lungs. Yukari heard several things being upended, and even saw her mirror get smashed onto the floor.

“Please… please end… stop…” Yukari cried to herself, trying to end the obvious nightmare she was experiencing.

“I HEARD YOU, BRAT!” She felt his hard, grimy hands grab onto her foot, and drag her out into the open from the bed. She was dragged over the remains of the mirror, which cut into her clothes, skin, and face.

One particularly large shard cut right across her cheek, leaving a shallow, but painful cut. She hissed in pain, but was promptly punched in the back, shutting her up.

Yukari was flipped over, and was face-to-face with the man of her nightmares.

“You f***ing brat, you think you can walk around MY house like you own the damn place?” Some of his saliva landed onto her cheek wound, and this slightly alcoholic nature of the saliva burned her wound even more.

Yukari held in the urge to yelp, as she saw the balled up fist of his right hand. She shakily shook her head sideways, signifying a no.

“SPEAK WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!” Yukari cried and turned her head away from the booming voice of her father. “N-no… fa-father…”

“...Give me the teddy bear.” Yukari's face drained. Her father's face scrunched up as he tightened his fist even further, turning his knuckles white.

“I SAID GIVE ME THE F***ING TEDDY BEAR!” Yukari cried loudly, while her father finally had enough, and backhanded her. She stopped crying almost immediately, while looking at nothing. Her eyes glazed over, as she let go of the teddy bear.

“Now get back in the bed, brat.” Yukari wordlessly crawled back into bed, and pulled the sheets over herself. “And don't you DARE get out of bed! One squeak, and I'm tossing you outside on a leash!”

As the door slammed, she woke up from her nightmare, panting heavily with tears rolling down her face. Yukari was back into her nineteen year old body, and… almost nude.

Her pajamas were gone, and only her bra and panties covered her goodies from the world. She couldn't care though, she had to go somewhere.

So, she dug around in her dresser, sniffling the entire time. She slapped on a simple t-shirt with jeans and socks, and walked outside her door, downstairs.

Yukari exited her estate, and walked out into the open field. She heard the occasional cricket, smelled the grass… and stared at the full, luminous moon.

She sat down on the grass while never breaking eye contact with the celestial body. Just staring.

Finally, she sighed and let one tear fall onto the grass below.

“I'm sorry I couldn't save you… dad…”

Blonde, Sagiri looks around at a pitch-black room. She sees a blonde girl, her back facing Sagiri. "Yuka-" Sagiri attempts to reach out to Yukari. However, The Room distorts...longer, she is out of reach. Sagiri wants to run...run as fast as she could..she can't, she only manages a slow pace...her heartbeats pump adrenaline... her knees ae heavy as an iron, but with her pure... determination she managed to reach Yukari who is still facing away from Sagiri. She taps her shoulder, "Yukari, why are we-" The Blond looks to Sagiri and its face shows someone else, "Tany-"

Sagiri opens her eyes...still leaning towards the bad. She immediately wakes up looking like a grizzled mom, shaking her head, looking around. Her head is still dizzy, "Must be from the hungover", she concludes. Holding her head, she looks around and realize, Yukari is not here. Sagiri skips a beat, "Please don't tell me she has been kidnapped, Don't worry, Me [s]Mario[/s] Sagiri will save my Imouto!" At first, she wants to alert the guards...but remembering how she enters, the first thing they do is to arrest Sagiri. She looks around for a while...No sign of Forceful Entry, no scratches. "In fact, if she is kidnapped, she must be cooperative." Pondering, she decided to check her desk, windows, dresser...In the dresser one set of clothes is missing, "Either she just left or the Kidnapper is REALLY kind." But then she realized...if the kidnapper kidnaps her for say...money, wouldn't Sagiri more important as well, as she is a ruler of a country. "Nyaaan, she probably just left on her own then....hahahahaha"... silence..."WHERE DID SHE GO?" screams Sagiri.

She can't just go to the front door, seeing that the only choice to is through that one small window, "F*ck, This is my first time climbing after 5 years," Wearing her jacket back, it is cold of course outside, she hops to the window panel, looking down, two storeys tall, all the way to the concrete. "I'd rather not breaking my foot now," she looks up, the wall is made by stone like an old castle, it has a mossy-filled gap between the stones, "Here it goes". She bends her leg before leaps...and her hand barely grips the stone..."So slippery..." Using all of her core strength, one by one she grabs and release the stone. She has to do it quickly before she runs out of stamina and found out of stamina.

Almost reaching the stop, she grabbed an old-looking stone, and it crumbles, Sagiri falls for a good metre before she managed to grab a stone, but her body catapulted towards the wall full force...aww.... Later she reaches the roof. She attempts to scan for Yukari, "Blonde Girl Blonde Blond Girl..." still looking..." Blond Girl- There she is!" Sagiri sees Yukari, finally. She sits out in the open greenfield that surrounds the mansion. Sagiri prays for Jingo...and she started running, running ever faster than the one in dreams and jumps...the whole way across the guard... using her Neko ability, she managed to land in all fours, not breaking a body. "Still hurts though."

Sagiri looks at Yukari at more detail...she looks up to the sky, specifically, the moon. Yukari seems...sensitive and sad right now, like delicate dandelions that surround her. Sagiri almost wanting to surprise Yukari from the back, "Yuka-" but against her instinct, she just stands beside Yukari...and sat down.

"How are you...Yukari?" Sagiri attempts to ask, no response is heard, Yukari still looks at the celestial full moon. Sagiri decided to sit closer to her, "Do you know? Yesterday there was a partial moon eclipse in Necerierra, I see it myself, astonishing stuff." Sagiri realizes that...Edwelantin has damn good Skyview, considering they are at farmlands. "Yukari do you see the star...below the moon?" Sagiri points a dim star below that..."That is called Fomalhaut, from Piscis Australis, Yeah you barely can see the fish now..." Sagiri than taps Yukari to see to her west, "You see that bright orange star? Yeah, that is not a star, that is Saturn you can differentiate those because they aren't twinkling but I am sure you know that," Sagiri giggles.

"Now Lookup...can you see these three bright stars above?" There are lots of star above the horizon, but Sagiri refers to one of the brightest three, "This is..." Sagiri points toward the lower star, "Altair, forming the head of a bird Aquila, and this is-" She points toward a higher dimmer star, "Deneb, which means tail, this star forms the tail of a Swan Cygnus. And the last one..." She points toward a much brighter star, giving its bluish colour, "Vega, one of the brightest star. You see them in close proximity and forming a Triangle? That is called Summer Triangle Yukari-chan, knowing the latitude", it must be summer here." said Sagiri as she looks at Yukari seemingly interested in them.

Sagiri smiles and looks to the opposite side away from the moon, "Look Yukari, that is..." She points toward a Bright Yellow Star, "Capella from Auriga Constellation, Capella is like...A head of a goat, so you can see a man holding a goat....How the hell ancient people can imagine this thing!" Sagiri flustered at herself...*sigh* "Somewhere around here...." Sagiri points to a VERY DIM region of a star, "I think it is over...there", Sagiri points to an area of the sky...far above Capella. "If you can see these dim stars... there is an object...Andromeda Galaxy, it is truly big, much bigger in fact than this galaxy."

"But I want to show you THIS one Yukari-chan," Sagiri excited at herself. "You can see these stars that form like a shield?" Sagiri points about the east of Capella, "That is Taurus, The Head of a Bull and one of its body..." Sagiri points to above the head..."That is Pleiades Yukari-chan, meaning seven sisters." said Sagiri as she pints toward a star...that if we look closely constituted of multiple ones. "Since ancient times these stars are always together, these sevens, always travelling together, always being happy and together y'know..." contemplating Sagiri.

"Yukari...whatever experience or something that happens...right now or in the past. It has happened, a part of your everlasting memory." said Sagiri..." I may never exist in your life before now but...Yukari-chan...I want to be like Pleiades and become your always loving and loyal sister...we might argue...we might have fights...but Yukari-chan, always know this...I will always be there for you and..." Sagiri embraces Yukari and Sagiri whispers, "If you are ready, you can tell me about your problems, I will be always hearing you alright. And...There is a whole world to explore y'know, I want us to feel the world and having...fulfiling experience just like these Pleiades...having their eternal experience."

They embrace for a long while...before Sagiri let it go, "Fuihh...I am such a crybaby huh? Let's go back Yukari, I don't want you to catch a cold...Or...." Sagiri gives a mischievous look, "You want to travel somewhere?"
