New Trisone Advances to the Quarter Finals!
In a terrific show of sportsmanship, skill, and fortune the National Team has beaten out its competitors and took first in the division. On Friday* the game against Deerfenland/Creole Union will take place. Many are anxious as going against the nation who is hosting the World Cup is no small feat. Even if New Trisone is eliminated from the Cup the nation can go in pride as they made it to the Quarter Finals in their first appearance, a promising result for the small and proud nation.

Greetings.

As you may or may not know, Sony has pulled Spider-Man out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This move by Sony has outraged many MCU fans, including myself, who loved all the character development Marvel Studios has done to the character over the past three years. Teenage romance, Tony Stark, Mysterio... I loved it all. And now Sony has thrown all that away just because they want more money.

This is a call to all Spider-Man and MCU fans in NationStates. If this goes through, this could screw up the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline. And, this could screw up other characters. X-Men, Fantastic Four... this whole Spider-Man thing could leave a chain reaction in which the MCU loses several great and interesting characters.

But most importantly... we would be losing arguably one of the best characters in the MCU, and who I honestly thought would become a very important and powerful character in the MCU.

The now Confederall Republic of Greater Armatas has recentlly aquired additional territory to its north.
These territories will be Integreated into the Akharan Region, furthermore Long Range patrol Units from the Akharan Region have been dispatched to the new Border.
The Armatasian Goverment calls upon the Goverment of Artemiseau to contact them in a reasonable timeframe to open Political Channels, to prevent unecessary confrontation on their now shared Border.

Nyet it’s a stew.

Around a day after Makhinov passed away and Litvenenko became General Secretary, Litvenenko has made several changes to the Alexandrian lifestyle and has given the populace a significant amount of freedom. He was stated that corporal punishment, which was installed in the 1950s by the politburo serving under a General Secretary called Aleksandr Maksim, was abolished by Litvenenko. Not only that, Litvenenko has loosened the stance on religion, which had previously been banned, but now, religion has been legalised, but it is advised for the time being people do not express their belief too much until further notice.

Litvenenko has updated old laws, giving women more freedom and more rights which Litvenenko believes they deserve. Litvenenko has also updated laws regulating the maximum speed that should be driven by vehicles. Litvenenko has stated that the speed limits in Alexandria, especially on the Usonean cluster of islands, were ridiculous. The governor of the islands, Nicholas Yakobvich, has been removed from office by Litvenenko directly for his complete and utter incompetence to be a stable politician.

In recent days, protests have been taking place in the south of Alexandria over how much workers are being payed. The protests were fairly peaceful and violence was not reported. Only police officers attended and patrolled the area. Under Makhinov, the protestors would have been gathered up and arrested, or worse. Though Litvenenko wants to change that. He wants to let his people have the freedom they deserve.

Litvenenko though still wants to carry on what is being called The Second Insurgency in The Isles, in the Alexandrian islands in Usonea. Around an hour before Litvenenko came into power, the six-thousand soldiers were already on their way to the islands. Apparently the director of the operation and commander of the six-thousand men, Lieutenant General Gregorovich, asked Litvenenko if he wanted the troops to turn back. Litvenenko apparently replied; "Are you mad?" And left the conversation at that, as Gregorovich knew the answer he had been given.

OCorp Research Facility

July 22, 1964

Agent Powers and Duncan entered the facility. Duncan looked left and right with his beady eyes, through his thick glasses at the different level of tech on display. He was in awe of most of the equipment, but didn't say anything. Powers kept his pace quick, walking as though he was a researcher late for a meeting. His fake ID bobbed left and right as he advanced, his white lab coat impeccably washed and almost glowing. As they walked through the facility, It soon became clear what some of the tests that were preformed were. They passed under a sign that said "TOP SECRET- CLEARANCE CYAN"

Inside was a horror show of windowed cells, each containing a test subject. Some where already dead from the virus, crumpled masses on their bed or in a seat. The other rooms contained live subjects, waiting their turn to die. Powers was horrified at what he saw. He took out a small camera. It was a small silver rectangle, only a few centimeters in diameter and about three inches long. There was a small Lens poking out of part of it. Powers squeezed it together and took images of the dead, being discreet as he did in case any automated security was around. He then pocketed the camera and continued on. He looked at some of the inmates. Their eyes were sad, broken, the eyes of people who had seen sad, horrible things. The eyes of broken people.

He wished there was something he could do for them, all those trapped in the cells. But it would go against protocol to attempt a rescue. The operation needs to be covert, with no trace back to Tanabon.

"So, your just going to leave them?"

Powers turned around and found Duncan, staring into one of the cells. He was speaking English.

"Yes, we are. We can't compromise this op. It sucks to leave them, but we can't take them. If we released them the security would come and kill us all. We also can't cause a fuss, they aren't supposed to know that we took something. It would reveal us to them."

Duncan let out a sigh. He knew Powers was right, but it didn't.. seem right.

"We can't just let these people suffer like this, you know that more than anyone. We're Tanabonains, we're supposed-"

Powers cut him off with a roar. He rushed over and grabbed Duncan's lab coat, holding him.

"Duncan! Don't say that word! If they catch wind of this and listen to a recording, they'll knew what nation was responsible! Shut up and let's move, and no more English."

Duncan's eyes widened, as realization sunk over him. He looked into the cell. The person was staring back, a look of hate and distrust still on their face. It stabbed Duncan like kitchen knifes, but he knew why. They both continued on through the facility, until they came before the incubation chamber. A guard stood watch, but didn't react until a nervous Duncan gave away what was going on. The guard read the expression and acted by drawing his pistol. Powers grabbed the guard and shoved him down into the knee he threw up, knocking the guard out with a thwop.

"Get your nerves Duncan, I still need you, plus, then maybe you wouldn't give us away so easy."

Duncan nodded, and tried to find a place to hide the body.

Powers slipped into a hazmat suit, and slipped a captured keycard through the door slide. It lit green before the door opened. He got decontaminated and walked into the room, where he took out the swab. Inside, he found many different devices used for biotech, including micropipettes, boxes of disposable tips, other swabs, incubation chambers, Petri dishes, electrophoresis boxes, and sample centrifuges. He worked his way to the Petri dish labeled "MANTACORE" and took a swab, which he then deposited into a saline solution in a small vial. He capped it, and made his way to be decontaminated.

After he was, he exited the suit and began his way out. Him and Duncan walked out as the security personnel was dispatched to the sample room. One of them bumped into Duncan and Powers, causing the camera to fall out of Powers pocket. The guard looked at it and instantly knew what it was. He yelled back for backup before Powers disarmed him, knocking his sidearm across the hall, Powers then kicked the Camera to Duncan, who picked it up. Powers continued to grapple with the guard, dodging attempted punches. Powers landed one square on the guards jaw, knocking him back. The guard then responded by landing a blow into the left eye of Powers, who fell back from the hit. He then swept the legs of the guard and clamored on top of him. The two struggled on the ground, both trying to get the upper hand. Powers lost it, and the guard began striking him repeatedly before choking him. Powers struggled and punched the guards stomach, making him wheeze in pain. He fell off Powers, and not Powers, but Duncan finished him with a strike to the head with his handgun. The guard taken care of, but not dead.

Powered nodded to Duncan, and the two made their way to the security room. Inside was a single guard, which they took out in a similar way. Duncan then erased the tape of them being in the building, and after that made their way to the evacuation route. They went out with other scientists during the evacuation and made their way to the car. Once inside, they drove as hard as they could to the extraction point, out in the remote woods. The stealth Huey flew in, and picked them up. Another mission under Powers belt, and they could only hope that it was going to be a success.

On the flight back, Powers slapped Duncan's shoulder.

"All things considered, you handled yourself well. When we get back, I'll buy you a drink. A few more missions, a bit of training, and maybe you'll be more than just a tech."

Powers added a smile at the end. Duncan nodded, but simply continued to stare out the window at the passing landscape. He was still thinking of the prisoners left behind, and how little they seemed to do anything. It just didn't sit right. And the relatively low level of security... it was strange. Something might be up.

This was so damn good. I love that little sort of cliffhanger at the end. Though, the only kink is that you spelled Manticore wrong, but it’s fine.
