I’m kindly debating in a friendly way. It’s actually educational to both sides since both sides are forced to view things from different perspectives and are forced to think hard. It helps you learn in a fun and engaging way. I actually think it would be better if people would POLITELY AND CIVILY debate/argue. If people didn’t want to debate, they would just say they didn’t want to debate. But they aren't.

RMB moderator here, having seen the original suggestion. It’s a lot easier to keep track of the RMB than a discord channel. I speak from experience here- I have done Discord RP before. The character limit is also a pain, especially for those like myself who prefer to make walls of text. Discord can in theory be ok for banter stuff, but anything more and you’re asking for trouble compared to here for us. And we have plenty more than that.
On a side note, if the RMB only had official messages, that’s actually a discouraging thing to see for recruitment. A region’s RMB can be seen as a sign of its activity, especially to newcomers. It’s the first thing they see. If all they see is a few announcements, what do they assume? And indeed, they’re actually cut off from immediate communication through such a scheme.
As a result of these factors I don’t believe this idea achieves very much.
As a side note, we are on the Discord as it is.

Debating is engaging and forces you to think. That alone makes you more logical. What’s more, it gives you new prospectives on the world when you see an opponent make good points making you wiser and more logical. It also allows you to see the advantages and disadvantages is everything agian making you wiser and more logical. It forces you to sometimes look things up you otherwise wouldnt have. It brings up topics you sometimes didn’t know even existed. It allows you to see your weaknesses and strengths. It also makes you far more likely to remember these things rather than if you simply looked it up on your own or were taught it at school. There’s also more educational aspects to this. Trust me, debate is in some particular ways, more educational than school.
