Hello Kat! :D

Lol

It's very true that we have lovely places to visit in our country.

We'll probably have a couple of weeks, if not three, in Yorkshire and travel up the east coast to the Bamburgh area.

How are you today?

Aerilia wrote:Well that isn't good. But hopefully you'll be able to go next year. It sounds far enough away that it shouldn't get canceled again.

You might have to go somewhere more local in the meantime. I hear Cardiff is nice this time of year...

But other than that, That's good!

Fingers crossed. Lol

I have been to a lot of cities in the UK and I must admit Cardiff is one of the best.

I'll probably head north for a couple of weeks. :D

Ethnon wrote:TUI are cancelling holidays and flights whereas Ryanair and Vueling are still flying to Spain.

Vueling won't cancel anything unless they have no choice. Must avoid the word "refund" at all costs. And Ryanair... Well, I only flew with them once, from Santiago to Palma, but the complains I keep hearing about that airline are almost nonstop. Can't really say I'm suprised they haven't canceled anything yet.

Oh I love York, Scarborough and Whitby! :D

I was in Scarborough a few weeks ago.

I don't think I've ever been to Flamborough Head.

I've been to Redcar and Filey.

I used to play a good game of 'badders'!

I wonder if my joints can take it now?

One way to find out I guess. Haha!

I almost flew with Vueling once, but they cancelled. Lol

Fortunately I have never flown with Ryanair.

I found Jet2 and Aer Lingus good though. :D

I always love jokes about Ryanair

Have you heard this one?

The airline pilot is first to approach the saint.

Peter: Name and profession please

Pilot: John Williams, Ryanair pilot.

Peter: *riffles through a massive book* John Williams...John Williams... umm... ah yes!

Peter: clicks his fingers and a beautiful silk robe and ornate golden staff appear out of thin air.

Peter: please take these, and you may enter the kingdom of heaven!

Pilot: alright! *takes robe and staff and runs through the gate.

Pastor approaches

Peter: Name and profession please

Pastor: Frederick Adams, pastor, preacher, religious leader.

Peter: Frederick... Adams... pastor... yes... here you are

Peter snaps his fingers and a simple cotton robe and plain wooden staff appear.

Peter: Please take these, and you may enter the kingdom of heaven!

The pastor pauses, and chooses his words carefully.

Pastor: St Peter, I really don’t mean any disrespect, and I trust and have faith in his ways... but why does John, an airline pilot, of all people, get a golden staff and silk robe, and I, a man who had dedicated his life to god, get a cotton robe and wooden staff?

Peter: Oh, well you see, here in heaven, we work on a merit system, and when you were preaching, people were sleeping.

But when John was flying, people were praying!

Lol

Cardiff Airport Aerial view[2014]

If you like aircraft, then this could interest you.

I had a career in aviation and have worked on, and even flew, many aircraft types.

Both rotary and fixed wing, fast military jet and wide bodied civilian airframes.

Cardiff International Airport [CWL] and St. Athan are my local aviation hubs.

I created the forum thread as I still have that interest in aviation.

I still miss the smell of 'avtur' and hydraulic oil. Lol
