Space doesn't exist, and I can prove it. Follow these steps.

1. Go outside at midnight.

2. Look up.

Nothing but pitch black sky. No stars, moon or any other celestial object. This also works during the day, but that's the day.

Cermiersians say the same thing, though instead of the night sky they always see Moramia’s stiletto engraving itself on their foreheads.

Though, it isn't midnight either.
Though also, I've been out at midnight. I remember one night in particular, it was glorious; all those stars.

Clouds? We just have one cloud.

The joke is there's a massive cloud blocking the sky

Yep. It checks out.

The Ministry of Diplomatic Affairs responds simply by indicating that they had been sending G.S.S security with both Snowrose & Augusta in response to the simple reality that both are under the protection of the Federal Government; if they don't like it, perhaps they would do well to fix the I.S.S? Or would they rather continue to ignore the issues that wrought the situation they're complaining about?
It's up to them to figure that out. Not the Municipalities.

As such, Augusta would take the time to try and send a formal apology for the whole affair to her.

Apology or not, the reality is, she will have to take time to regain Cetiri's trust. She can't simply mess about like that anymore; she has better things she should be doing, no?

Due to their complete lack of discretion and tact, this individual finds themselves discretely marked for suspicious activity almost as soon as he arrives deeper in Hii, as the only way he was ever going to start looking for information on the G.S.S would be to head into the city and towards one of the district government offices.
Given that he was already slightly suspicious given his demeanour and body language, he now finds himself under watch by MISA, this is likely to result in eventual action on his apparent dead-set intent to look into the G.S.S & its members.

Luckily for the G.S.S, information security is taken at least somewhat seriously; trying to find information on each individual member isn't as simple as asking, or opening a dossier, the only individual to not be afforded this level of security is the Director, Eosiko Ollens. As he is the face of the G.S.S.
Finding his location, however, is not easy either... in fact, that is one of the things that A.M.S.I.O keeps very close to their chest, not that this man would realize.

So basically, I have 3 missing math assignments, a buncha missing assignments from gym class, and I need to study for a final test tonight.

Oopsie-daisy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It would perhaps help if they weren't corrupt?

Effective accordingly, it is now official policy that Augusta and Snowrose will have to provide explicit detailed plans and reasons for any future visits back to Pathonia, to prevent further fallout from these sorts of... incidents.
Well that and Augusta has burned out her trust, so she'll have some restrictions put on her because of that.

She sounds like a benevolent dictator with no context, but given the fact that Augusta typically slips away from her own bodyguards in Pathonia, those restrictions seem pretty reasonable.

Taxes on bribes are 54% of royal household income. Of that, 73% come from the Scrys of Alvaainca. Kinda hard to hide foreign bribes in a country where no one has anything, so the intelligence agency just sends to Moramia pockets the money.

If anything, a government institution making four times the income put in is a net benefit to Cermiersia.

Better things?
Yeah, probably. Such as distracting herself from losing Cetiri's trust. Maybe by continuing to express herself via 'podcast' or indulging in reading some of those Arthro-Books.

Quite frustrated at this *incredible* presence of security, as well as the wretched dry cold (he'd prefer the swampy jungle bits of Kegirtogten, and he normally has a less than great opinion on thost places-), the man looks to go to the only other place where he might find answers to his query; the living quarters of Augusta, for the individual he seeks was with her not more than a day ago. On his way to that place though, he'd take a long break within some sort of restaurant to warm up.

His expression, initially from *panic* on trying to find the individual with haste, now had turned to immense disappointment with the prospect that he might just never find them.

Nevertheless, he'd persist, and would make sure to compile a list of questions to find the individual in particular or this peculiar "Ollens" character.

She wouldn't find any poisons or sleeping drugs, but she would find a tiny airborne bee-sized camera robot observing her the moment she touched the container.
It may be that Drumtile wishes to acquire footage of an individual from bug-land eating crab.

Who said anything about external bribery anyway?
Nonetheless, that perception that bribery and corruption is just sort of- normal, is part of the problem-

If Cermiersia only had public ways of compensating its elites, they would prefer riches in autocracy to placating the population. Corruption, even as a public secret, is the very thing that allows Cermiersia to even transition to democratic rule.

Corruption is integral to a modern Cermiersia.

Depending on how far it is from her, she'll probably try to snip at it. If she doesn't catch it, she'll likely shrug it off, but will put it on her list of suspicious things going on.

Also, I'm guessing that Drumtile doesn't know about cannibalism in Arthropyria being legal (though technically crab and scorpion are two very different species).

TLDR: No one cares about arthropods eating other arthropods lol

That is to their benefit, at the very least they realize that they can't win here. They can win another time, perhaps... but not here, not right now. Throwing stones in glass homes has never worked.

The man is not interrupted exactly during his stop-over in the restaurant, a member of staff briefly approaches him, though after acertaining that he wasn't here to order anything or find a table, they left him alone, and moved on to handle matters that were more relevant to them, such as handling tables presently occupied, plenty of them at this late hour.

However... trying to reach the Hii Central Institute for Wellness and Safety, the man is finally stopped short of reaching it. Given the temperature outside and the distances involved, the man had no choice but to take public transit after his break at the restaurant. As a result... it perhaps becomes apparent that his situation isn't exactly ideal, when the bus stops at one of its assigned stations prior to the Institute, and is boarded by four individuals, clad in the official police attire of the City of Hii, maroon, much like the G.S.S' uniforms, though theirs are far more simplistic.
It doesn't matter, however, as they speak briefly to the bus driver, before approaching the man himself.

Welcome to the Pacific, the oldest region on NationStates and home of the New Pacific Order for the past 20 years. NationStates can be overwhelming when you first begin (or if you're just coming back!), with a lot of potential ways to play the game and have fun. However, we are more than happy to help you with any queries you might have regarding NationStates and the Pacific. To get started, make sure to read the below list.

  • First things first, join the World Assembly! It's like the United Nations but in NationStates. If you're confused on how to join the World Assembly, this guide should be able to help you out.

  • Once you've joined the World Assembly, you can endorse any nation that is also in the World Assembly. It is extremely important for the security of the region that you make sure to endorse our World Assembly Delegate East Durthang.

  • Now that you've endorsed our World Assembly Delegate, you can join our forums and then apply for citizenship in the New Pacific Order. At most, the process will take a few days, and then after that - you're officially a citizen of the New Pacific Order.

  • The last thing that you need to do to get started is to join our Discord server. It allows you to communicate with all the members of the New Pacific Order, stretching across 3 main branches and other games as well. Since you're a citizen, you'll also get access to the special citizens-only channel too.

Once you've checked everything off the list, you're free to enjoy your time in NationStates as a part of the wider New Pacific Order community. If you want to help out with what we do around here, you can consider Getting Involved - but it is not necessary for having a great time here in the Pacific. If you're not new to NationStates but new to the Pacific, do make sure to still follow the instructions; it helps out a ton!

Regards,
The New Pacific Order

Think Same, Open for 4 and a half more days

Welcome to Think Same: Music Edition! To start 2024's Think Games off, this January game will focus on something that we all enjoy - Music. Some Music is more Music than other Music, which is why this game follows the Think Same rules. And here are the rules:

So, how does one play Think Same?

At the bottom of this post will be a link to a Google form, which you will fill out according to an hono(u)r system. The goal is to answer the same way as your comrades, and particularly those in your team. You will receive a number of points equal to the number of people who answered the same as you for each question- provided the answer is correct. The most popular answer is called the SHEEP.

Now, suppose you give an incorrect answer. You then receive negative points equivalent to the number of people who answered that wrong answer. So, let's say six people are asked to name something that normally lives in the ocean. Three people say "Shark"; that is the SHEEP answer and they receive 3 points each. One person each respond with "kelp" and "squid" and receive one point each. One person responds with "Werewolf" and receives -1 points for giving a wrong answer. Each question works the same way.

In this edition, there will be teams with simple, but handy perks, from which you may choose one. In their simplicity, they can still be very helpful.

Renaissance: The rediscovery of arts and crafts coming from all the way back of ancient times, which included music. Effect: Get SHEEP points on one question.

Baroque: When it comes to classical music, most musical pieces come from this era. Ironic to the name of the succeeding era. Effect: On 2 questions, get your points doubled.

Classical: Standing on the groundworks of the Baroque era, many more musicians followed up and put their own spin on what we now consider classical music. Effect: Pick a question. If you answered with a Singleton answer, get the average amount of points added to your total score.

Romantic: Rounding up the era in which orchestral and composed music was the most popular music, the Romantic offered a strong focus on love and the sweeter things in life, just until shortly before the World Wars caused a few cultural revolutions. Effect: If you made no more than 5 wrong answers in the whole game, get 8 points added to your final score.

Bonus: There is a reference hidden in this entire game. Anyone who can find it will get 10 points added to their final score.

The Honour Pledge!

By playing Think Same, you agree to not disclose your answers to any player save the organizer ( @Wubdich ) between the posting of this form and the closing of responses. You agree to bring any issues to the attention of the organizer as soon as you find them and not to challenge the outcome if you do not do so. You agree to only submit one set of answers, even if you are drunk. If you wish to dispute the ruling of an answer as correct/incorrect, you agree to bring it up with the organizer via forum PM, NS telegram, or Discord DM. If you want clarification on any question or to modify an existing answer, you agree to bring it to the attention of the organizer via forum PM, NS telegram, or Discord DM.

The game will begin in 7 days (unless organizer is notified over lack of time - maximum of days prolonged upon notification: 3). The game can be found here:

LinkClick Me!

Good luck and have fun!

There will be a prize to the winner. Past winners are still eligible for prizes even if they have not redeemed theirs. Feel free to request next month's theme.

It's remarkably funny how the Cermiersian mind works.
I wonder if it would break their understanding of things if they realized the MoA has no legal pathway for such taxes to be handed off to the "Empress"?

They would no doubt keep on bribing people down the chain until after handing off 300 Credits to the newborn twin infants of impoverished college students living on noodles they would realize that Antarctica is fundamentally several times better than Cermiersia and immigrate there.
