It's no Oompa Loompa Trip Hop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBQxPpVyOqs), but it could do the job :-)

You?

Hi, Foxy!

Hurro, Foxy! How's it going? I'm inside being absurdly lazy...primarily because it is 107 outside (41.6 C), but also because I'm super tired. I was up half the night with my poor dog who is not feeling well ;( I hope your day is going well!

Thank you!! :) I hope so too. We had to take her to the vet this morning so now I'm $450 poorer, but I'd do anything for her. Just hope she feels better soon.

Volaworand wrote:OMG that's brutal! :-(

Yeah, it is. I live in the southern U.S., so this is actually quite normal between June-September. Every day has been over 100 since I can remember. Yay! ;( (really sad for me, because I'm a cold weather guy, my ideal temp is like 40-60 F. I really wish it was like that right now ;(

Volaworand wrote:Doing ok... just impatiently waiting for the bakery across the street to open so I can get a coffee and fresh cinnamon bun.
It's fairly quiet this morning in the RMB... and you could hear a pin drop in Discord. We should start a RealHousewifes of TSP just to fire up the drama llama's!

*Throws a drink in Agalaesia's face, and starts pulling off Commonwealth Of Astoria's cheap weave*

I would SO be a part of that!! RHWTSP!!!! Let’s make this a thing!!!

Also I hope you’ve got your coffee and Cinnabon :-)

Yeah I've never scrimped on vet visits. I hope she's on the mend.

I usually like the teens to mid 20's Celsius… no idea the conversion to Fahrenheit but anything as hot as what you have now would just destroy my desire to move... I'd just be melted puddle of sweat. I also burn really easily so if it's super hot/sunny out I end up having to wear long sleeves and pants which makes the heat worse.

I already got my own coffee... stop stalking me!

Yeah, that's about my range too...15-25 C is 60-77 F. It's comfortable enough inside, until the power grid is strained around 12pm-4pm and the AC doesn't work as well ;( (of course, right in the middle of the day when it's hottest). It's supposed to reach upwards of 46 C here this week, so we're definitely staying indoors. It definitely kills my will to live, I absolutely hate hot weather, but we moved here for my partner's new job, so we gotta do what we gotta do! Also, the humidity here (70%+ on most days) makes it literally impossible to sweat, so...it's much worse than you think. Your body has no way of cooling itself when it's hot but also extremely humid, unlike in more arid climates. Basically, I just bring a huge bottle of water anywhere I go and hope I don't faint ;) I'm also sensitive to the sun, I burn almost immediately ;( Eventually I'll get a tan, but only after I've passed through the critical cancer-inducing stage ;(

Coffee. Who drinks coffee anymore?

I though vodka was all the rage...

I didn't mind that kind of heat when I would holiday in Puerto Vallarta, but that's right on the ocean so it's still quite cool (the cheap booze helped) ... went to Los Vegas a few summers ago and it was that hot and just lost all will to be outside in the daylight hours. To live in tht heat every summer would take me a long time to get used to.

How long have you lived there?

Oh my goodness. 46 C?!?! That's ridiculous, I thought it was hot here in Texas recently. Thankfully "only" 39 these past few days...

Well, I sort of misspoke, the real temperature will be only be 35 C, but with the humidity and everything else, the "real feel" will be 46. I go by the "real feel", because that's obviously what it feels like outside ;( And hey!! I lived in Texas for 5 years, I know what it's like! Where in Texas do you live? I was in Austin until recently.

I've actually only lived here for three weeks, but it feels quite similar to Texas (basically I'm on the same latitude as I was before in Texas), so it feels the same but with MORE humidity ;(

Puerto Vallarta sounds really neat! I've never been to Mexico. And yeah, free booze would definitely help out, any time :P (except when you're actually parched). I don't know, but I have a feeling you're from the UK, based on your aforementioned desired clime!

I'm in Canada, smack dab in the middle of the western prairies... basicly montana/North Dakota weather here. Nice summers, calm, cold winters... which is why we used to go to mexico every January (though I've been paying off debt for the past 5 years and havn't gone anywhere fun lately) Went to PV 14 time … I was the pasty skinned naked guy at the clothing optional raves... I mean the quiet guy lounging by the pool reading a book.

Only 3 weeks! yeah it'll take a while to get used to for sure!

Oh, I didn't imagine Canada, how lovely! You're a lucky duck! (or should I say, loon!) :) I wish I was in Canada, that sounds so great, I've been pushing my mate to find a job there, but there aren't too many jobs in academia there in his field of study (linguistics). Maybe someday we'll get lucky though!

Also, I feel the debt sting-- I've been paying off my student loans for years, still have 5-6 more years of it to go, probably. Bleh. The same thing has prevented me from traveling abroad since 2016! What a coincidence.

Haha "pasty skinned naked guy at a rave"...sounds like me, but maybe more so when I was in college. Nowadays I AM the quiet dude lounging by a pool reading a book! Or more accurately, inside my house sitting motionless next to the AC vent trying not to think so I don't boil.

I hate hot weather.

The humidity, the heat, the sun beating down on the back.

I prefer winter!
