Kingdoms Period
1600-1750
Before the existence of the nation Helveca, it was just a regional name for the land occupied by hundreds of small kingdoms warring with one another. This lasted for 150 years until the rise of Emperor Frederick of Hathe.
Frederick’s War for Unity
1750-1800
The Hatheian Empire was a rather large empire compared to the many smaller kingdoms around their land. Under Fredericks brilliant military strategies, he was able to storm unsuspecting kingdoms around him and adding to his empire. He was infamous for conquering his neighbors, and burning their lands to insure reliance on him. It took Frederick 50 years to unify the lands. He renamed his nation, to the Empire of Helveca.
The Hathean Empire
1800-1910
Not long after the unification of Helveca, Frederick met his death. His heir to the throne was his son, Brandis Hathe. The Hathean Empire would remain under the Hathe Royal Family’s control does 110 years. The Hathean Empire was rather isolationist with little interaction with the outside world. The Miserians were the only nation that was in a favorable relation with Hathea, with things such as favorable trade deals and military alliances. Life under their control however was harsh and unfair towards the Helvecans. They were heavily taxed, weren’t given any political freedom, and were sometimes put into indentured servitude. Life was somewhat bearable until a massive dust storm hit the agricultural heart of Helveca, sending the nation into a economic depression in 1890.
The Fascist Uprising
1911
A group of fascists led by a man named Varham Colters were envious of the Royal Family. They wanted complete control of the government. In order to do this, they started to make promises to the people of Helveca. Varham took advantage of the economic depression caused by the sweeping crop failures across the nation, by claiming that he could industrialize the nation. Using these promises, they gained massive amounts of support. He marched up to the Emperors Palace with 25,000 men and women. The Emperor stepped down to avoid bloodshed, and gave power to the new fascist leaders.
The Helvecan Fascist Oligarchy
1912-1970
Varham did to some degree keep his promise to industrialize the nation. He did make Helveca into a primarily manufacturing economy. But he never gave the people elections. Varham and his closest allies decided to set up an oligarchy to rule over the Helvecan people. For 58 years, Helveca was ruled by an oppressive regime, who would kill anyone who spoke against the government. Public speech was silenced and a secret police was integrated. Life in Helveca was worse than ever.
The Democratic Revolution
1971-1974
After hundreds of years of oppression, Helveca was finally tired of it. Protests erupted in the capital city of Aetria. So many people showed up that it too much for the fascist to handle. Eventually the citizens were able to acquire guns from raiding nearby armories. Miseria also started to fund and arm the rebels as well in order to overthrow their rival. The citizens armed themselves and fought for four years against the tyrannical government. Eventually, the citizens would overthrow the government and execute the oligarchs. The leaders of the uprising were called together to reorganize the government. They drafted a constitution and gave birth to a republic. For the first time in its history, democracy has arrived to Helveca with the first elections taking place that year. Franco Cabrera wins the election, becoming the first chancellor of Helveca.

Wasn’t your end to fascism very recent?
Oh no I had two fascist regimes, The gattos regime and the Oligarchy. The Oligarchy lasted for about 60 years before Helvecans overthrew the government. The Gattos regime lasted a couple of months. I didnt add Gattos regime to the factbook because of the Miserian-Helvecan War Factbook
