I was woken by Darragh this morning, and my eldest has had to go out on his paper round. We are not in the red-warning zone but still in the 60mph gust yellow-warning zone, and also at the edge of a forest so storms always mean trees down and roads blocked.
Tomorrow is the "birthday" of my youngest child's favourite stuffed animal, and I am enjoined to bake a Swiss roll in celebration. That would be fine if I had any eggs. So it looks like I'm going to have to brave an expedition into the village. Might pick up a hearty loaf at the bakery for good measure.
We’re getting gusts of over 70 m.p.h.: not as bad as places in Eryri National Park. 93 m.p.h. recorded in Capel Curig.
Our front door is north facing and is leaking wind around the edges and water around the letter box. Luckily we’re getting that replaced week after next.
Living room windows are also north facing and we’re finding some water coming in around the top. Have to replace them next year I think. Not much water and the weather is extreme, but once water finds a way in….
