Hallo!
I found this region by pure chance. I'm not new to NS but haven't been on in a long time. I'm looking to build a sort-of militaristic monarchy with an expansionist, war-torn past that has halted it's aggressive militarism but still maintains a decent sized military and has conscription. Territory wise, i'm looking for mostly cold, rainy, misty mountain pine forest. E.G, landscapes like these: https://ibb.co/hW6dZ1w culture wise, i'm going for an Anglo-German or just west germanic feel with a nature-worshiping pagan religion thrown in.

its like totally hot here...

Had my first f*ck up yesterday. Instead of yelling and telling me how much I cost him, my boss was just like "eh sh*t happens".

Behold! First guided missile warship. Finished in time to shoot down two planes in the last year of the Imperial war.

Not enough guns on it. Surprised you went with a destroyer and not a cruiser. Most destroyers of that time period were less then 2500 tons. It would have been a conversion from an existing destroyer, plus it it new technology, so wouldn't be trusted yet. Also unless it is huge like the Talos, (32 feet long; range of 92 km.) would be very short ranged. Looks great, wish I had your skills.

Converted while under construction, has as many guns as the dynamic stability calculations would allow. And they are very nice guns.

BTW, you are the region's founder. What do you think of large animals in mainland Argus? So far, the largest animals I had were leopards and antelopes. But I have come to notice that a lot of nations here have bears. If we can have bears, I guess rhinos and elephants are also okay?

Also, since Central Canal Authority is right above me, can we have that that area and mine share many fauna? Maybe they even roam here and there?

Doesn't Menna Shuli have large animals in his nation reminiscent of African megafauna? I don't see any reason you can't. Unless I see a comment from Vancouvia on the next few pages that say otherwise.

Edit: Confirmations on both accounts I saw while reading the rest of the RMB.

i love it when you talk dirty like that

does anyone wish to challenge Yorrkon for secretary of information? he has not been active / doing his duties lately. or if anyone wants the presidency

four days later and I'm still setting stuff up in the new apartment

well that's a direct way to do it

Hey, welcome to TWI! If you haven't done so I highly recommend to do some light reading, in particular this dispatch: page=dispatch/id=520612.

Might be interesting to talk to Roendavar about your nation considering its somewhat similar to what he's got going. Also, if you've got any questions or concerns feel free to write in the RMB or TG me.

The Gaelfighter Project, also known as the Gaelfighter Tempest, is a 5th generation multi-role stealth fighter designed in the mid 2000s, designed by a multi-national team of nations to create a next generation fighter to suit the need of all Gaeltic nations.

The Gaelfighter Tempest was designed as a stealth fighter with improved avionics, high-speed interception and supercruise capabilities, basic stealth technology, multirole capabilities, greater combat radius, and improved airframe wingspan to surpass older aircraft to fulfill the role of becoming Gael's premier multi-role aircraft. This was jointlly designed and engineered by a multi-national team and various companies throughout Gael, headed by the Orsandian Aerospace Industries, Fortitude-Prospect, and White-Liang Technologies.

DEVELOPMENT
The Gaelfighter project was drafted under Ministry of Defense Ordnance 2274 authorized by Prime Minister Liang in 1997 as a part of the long-term Orsandian Warfighter Project intended to modernize much of the Orsandian armed forces by 2025 in a large ambitious effort with strong bi-partisan support. Research and feasibility studies began on Ordnance 2274 in July 2002 funded by the annual National Defense Authorization Act. The need for a new region-wide next gen stealth fighter prompted Prime Minister Liang to open up Gaelfighter research and development to other Gaeltic nations and allied nations, with the Alteran republics, Dormill and Stiura, and Ainslie among the first of many nations to join the project in December 2004. Official design collaborations were made and submitted to a multinational panel, who awarded the development contract to Orsandian Aerospace Industries, Fortitude-Prospect, White-Liang Technologies, and Alteran Aerospace to collaborate and develop a fighter that fit the needs published in Ordnance 2274, and additional wishes made by other governments. Prototype designs were developed and tested from 2005-2008, where many adjustments were made, and slight hindrances to research due to funding complications from the Orsandian Government, who at the time under new Prime Minister Jackie Guo, proposed major cuts to defense spending, and with it, significant funding to the Gaelfighter project.

The initial operational requirements for the Gaelfighter /TP-X program as stated by Orsandia's Agency for Defence Development were to develop a single-seat, twin-engine jet with stealth capabilities that could be on par with the top fighters of the Isles, but not surpassing ships such as the HDS F-123 Falcon from Noronica.

According to the Armament Systems Concept Development and Application Research Center of the University of Orsandia, the Gaelfighter Tempest was intended to be vastly superior to many of the aircraft in service in Gaeltic air forces, more importantly replacing Orsandia's aging F-86C aircraft from Miklania, with production numbers estimated to be over 250 aircraft. Compared to other prominent aircraft, the Gaelfighter will have a 50% greater combat radius, 34% longer airframe lifespan, better avionics including a White-Liang produced AESA radar, and better electronic warfare, IRST, and datalink capabilities. Operational requirements also specify approximately 50,000 pounds (23,000 kg) pounds of thrust provided by one, or preferably two engines, high-speed interception and supercruise capabilities, basic stealth technology, and multirole capabilities.

Orsandia funded 67% of the program's development, leaving the other 33% percent of funding to come from other nations across the Isles. Orsandia at the time, possesed about 61% of the technology on its own to create the plane, leading to it reaching out to form a multinational coalition of governments and major businesses to assist in its development. Among the most prominent investments came from the United Republics of Dormill and Stiura, who contributed billions of dollars to aid the research and development. About 195 models were built to order initially from 2011-2015, with Phase II orders seeing up to 115 more Gaelfighters being constructed.

R&D EXPIDENTURES
Codenamed the Gaelfighter project, the idea of developing a new fighter had been discussed for over 20 years, beginning in 1997. In addition to the Orsandian investment, Ainslie, Dormill and Stiura, Aruia, and the Alteran republics through Alteran Aerospace made up the remaining 33% of development costs, with funding coming from both governmental and private sector sources. Orsandia contracted Orsandian Aerospace Industries (OAI) in 2001 to develop the Gaelfighter from 2001-2013 , with deliveries beginning in in mid-2014.

PROJECT PARTNERS
In 2004, Fortitude-Prospect Aviation joined the project to assist in developing the Gaelfighter's powerplant, building its then new F414-KI afterburning turbofans for the aircraft. Alteran Aerospace joined the project in August 2005, assisting the Orsandian government in choosing braking systems and environmental control systems. Shortly after, White-Liang joined to develop the Gaelfighter's avionic technology and install the aircraft's new radar system. White-Liang/Fortitude Prospect was also selected in an earlier stages to supply missile ejection launchers, a range of communication, navigation and identification systems, conformal antennas and external fuel tanks and pylons for the aircraft. The Aruia Defense Ministry and Roendavar Royal Government sent experts to help develop the aircraft's oxygen system in 2006.

DEVELOPMENT TIMELINE AND FUNDING BY NATION

Full Scale Development 2011-present (Orsandia : 5.1 billion OSN / $3.1 billion , Gaelfighter Coalition : 3.4 billion OSN / $ 1.5 billion)

Read factbook

gonna resume sales/distribution of these again, big thanks to Alteran republics once more for that absolutely stunning design.

is there a way to add Aruia as developing instruction manual and procedure protocal videos for those?

Orsandia, Alteran republics, and Kyrazakhstan

also, we took the second step in progressing the idea of a market crash in the 80s starting to justifying the main causes for the crash

i would like to see others getting affected by it and not only Gael, to make it something more critical. If i see more involves i would make a seperate thread in order to have a specific reference to this.

You had war elephants as Atnaia (they went extinct) right? Do you have war elephants in Mennan history and present?

Athara magarat

So...this is Panko; the very last island in the Isles untouched by other civilizations.

nation=athara_magarat/detail=factbook/id=1221134

(Ignore Magaratis having a navy down there or Magaratis doing anything - that was just placeholder info)

So...how about a RP where various religious groups try to fight over converting these natives to their religion and bringing "civilization in the dark island". If you guys think this idea is cool, then I will prepare the thread and further info.

Greater Cesnica is now offering to sell nations within The Western Isles a satellite-based surveillance and weapons system called MAXVIS. Officially known as the Maximum-Visibility Surveillance and Combat System, it relies on satellites orbiting at an altitude of approximately 450 kilometers. Each individual satellite is fitted with two rectangular solar panels with lengths of 80 meters and widths of 32 meters respectively. Should these solar panels malfunction for any reason a backup plutonium-powered reactor is on standby at all times to take over the power dependency for the satellite. Each satellite is built in a cylinder-like shape, with a length of 120 meters and a diameter of 40 meters.

These satellites utilize radio frequency bands ranging from 100 kHz to 500 GHz to communicate with ground-based communications, control, guidance, and synchronization arrays. Each satellite is fitted with ten 100-megapixel cameras that synchronize live to create a one-gigapixel bitmap image. These cameras are also fitted with video capture lenses that can generate either a live 500-megapixel resolution recording or a pre-rendered 1-gigapixel recording. The total optimal-resolution stationary field of view for the surveillance systems on the satellite is 50 km for photos, 25 km for live videos, and 50 km for pre-rendered videos. MAXVIS satellites are also armed with depleted uranium guided kinetic rods, up to 20 at once. These rods are fitted with guidance systems to ensure strike accuracy within 200 meters of a target. In addition, MAXVIS satellites are armed with intermediate strength guided ballistic and cruise missile systems that have a maximum range of 40,000 kilometers (assuming a gradual orbital descent is taken). The capacity for the ballistic missiles is 10, and for the cruise missiles it is 30.

Currently there are 16 MAXVIS satellites operated by Greater Cesnica currently in orbit. The cost to produce one fully-loaded MAXVIS satellite is 4.6 Billion Shullings currently (6.9 Billion USD). The cost to the buyer for one satellite is 11.4 Billion Shullings currently (17.1 Billion USD).
