Other than that yeah you hit the nail on the head

I looked it up and Fer can mean iron, you might use something like ore for your small denomination.
Using 5 as your lowest number, would make thinks quite expensive in your country since the smallest amount would be over 6 US cents.

Aruia wrote:Initially it was intended that Aruia was a prime ignition in it becoming a regional economic crisis.

Ostehaar's economic crisis was mainly the result of being involved in two wars simultaneously. The Bank of Gael issue might have been a contributing factor, but the crisis would have happened either way. That's why the current text felt a bit off for me.

Anyway, you don't have to change plans if you want to keep the current story - I don't mind having my economic trouble placed a bit later on the timeline, as a half-separate event.

The Order of Higher Vargas is a multi-religious order founded by the Jirel shaman Phombo of Jiri, the "Khas-Kirati shaman" hired by Queen Magaidh of Noronica to banish the "Tri Sitraichean" (Nyssic: Three Witch Sisters) in the year 1236. Members of the order, who are referred to as the High Varga shamans or priests, are renowned for their animal companions referred to as "Vargas". The Varga animal is said to possess spiritual powers and the initiation rite involves the newer recruits finding out their Vargas and taming them. This practice slowly became the coming of age ceremony in the Khas-Kirat Empire and is still done today (albeit nowadays, the Magarati government provides Vargas to children when they reach 13 in order to reduce injuries or deaths related to "Varga-taming"). Membership in the order is open to holy warriors of all faith, nationality and gender.

The order was founded to unite "holy warriors" from various faiths in "combating the supernatural forces of evil" in the Isles. The order is widely acknowledged to have further advanced fledgling Munist system of Magarat region where individuals follow their own tribal beliefs as well as a foreign religion of their liking in syncretic manner as well as many other cultural norms. They were historically credited with "total banishment of witches" from the Khas-Kirat Empire, Kingdom of Noronnica and TBD nations in Late Medieval sources. In the year 2020, there were roughly 5,000 members of the order spread across the Isles.

I think the factbook should be split up by nation. I think it would give it more of an economic crash sort of feel by explaining the involvement of each nation while also incorporating the unified and reoccurring elements like AM and the BoG.

Same Group is a multinational corporation headquartered in Tapu Sahar, Athara Magarat that designs and manufactures shoes, clothing and accessories. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in the Isles (according to Same Group). Same Group also consists of TBDforeign sportswear company, 8.33% of the Magarati football club Tapu Sahar FC, and TBD2 a foreign fitness technology company.

History

Same Group was founded by Fau-doh Prajapati (an Almorean Kumal) who returned back to his ancestral land in Liba Hang (modern-day New Libang), Athara Magarat after the Great Gael War (known as the War of the Khas-Kirati Succession in Vendriothos and as the War of the Contested Crown in Raedlon) to make sports shoes. In 1924, his older brother Fau-joh also left immigrated from Almorea and joined the business, which became Prajapati Brothers Shoe Factory. The electricity supply in Liba Hanga was unreliable back then, so the brothers sometimes had to use pedal power from a stationary bicycle to run their equipment.

Prajapati assisted in the development of spiked running shoes (spikes) for multiple athletic events. To enhance the quality of spiked athletic footwear, he transitioned from a previous model of heavy metal spikes to utilizing canvas and rubber. In 1929, the newly established Empire of Magarat refused to participate in the 2nd IFAF Western Isles Cup in Townside. Hence, some Magarati footballers decided to play for the Noronican national football team and Prajapati persuaded them to use his hand made spikes. After the Noronnican national football team won the Cup and other awards, the name and reputation of Prajapati shoes became known to sportsmen and their trainers across the Isles. Business was successful and the Prajapatis were selling 200,000 pairs of shoes every year before the Imperial War.

The Prajapati factory, used for production of anti-tank weapons during the Imperial War, was destroyed in 1947 by Segentovan forces (Liba Hangate was declared "Segentovan Occupation Zone"). This forced the Prajapati brothers to split after their relations broke down. Fau-joh, who claimed there was "no future in Vendriothos", wanted to return back to Almorea and continue the business there while Fau-doh was of the opinion that migrating to the relatively unscathed Tapu Sahar would be the best option (it is believed that he was fearful of anti-Magarati sentiment and even riots in Almorea). The elder brother returned back to Almorea and renamed his business TBD while the younger brother relocated his business to Tapu Sahar and formed the Same Group. Free Powers occupation forces in post-war divided hangates subsequently became major buyers of Same Group's shoes.

Ghale Gaun Soda Factory (GGSF) is a Magarati chemical company and one of the largest chemical producer in the Isles. The GGSF Group comprises subsidiaries and joint ventures in more than 40 countries and operates six integrated production sites and 300 other production sites in Argus, Gael, Raedlon, Mesder and the Southern Sea regions. Its headquarters is located in Ghale Gaun, Athara Magarat. GGSF has customers in almost all Isles countries and supplies products to a wide variety of industries. Despite its size and global presence, GGSF has received relatively little public attention since it abandoned manufacturing and selling GGSF-branded consumer electronics products in the 1990s.

At the end of 2019, the company employed around 110,000 people, with over 54,000 in Athara Magarat. In 2019, GGSF posted sales of $66 billion and income from operations before special items of about $5 billion. The company is currently expanding its international activities with a particular focus on Gael. Between 1990 and 2005, the company invested $6.2 billion in Gael, for example in sites near TBDcities of TBDnations.

History

GGSF stands for 'Ghale Gaun Soda Factory'. It was founded by Harban Ghale on 1865 in Ghale Gaun, a town 12 km away from Second Tamuwan Hangate's capital Ghan Pokhara. The Ghales were a prestigious Tamu clan that had ruled Second Tamuwan Hangate and even established their own Ghale Hangate at one point in the past. Being a member of this prestigious clan made it easy for Harban to become a member of the town council in 1861. However, he quickly left local politics to become a businessman and GGSF was set up in 1865 to produce chemicals necessary for dye production, notably soda and acids.

GGSF recruited Kaji Hurlu, a Tamuwani chemist with experience of the dyestuffs industry in TBDnation, to be its first head of research. In 1901, some 80% of the GGSF production was dyestuffs.

In 1913, GGSF started adding fertilizers to its product range. The same year, GGSF also began mining anhydrite for gypsum at Ghale Gaun.

In 1916, GGSF started operations at a new site in Ghan Pokhara, where explosives were produced during the Great Gael War (known as the War of the Khas-Kirati Succession in Vendriothos). In 1921, an explosion occurred in Ghan Pokhara (now part of the Noronican-crown led Magarati Dominion), killing more than 500 people. The Ghan Pokhara explosion was the biggest industrial accident in Magarati history.

Following the establishment of the Empire of Magarat in 1928, GGSF collaborated with the Neo-Imperialist regime; profiting from guaranteed volumes and prices and from slave labor. GGSF also achieved notoriety owing to its production of TBDgas, the lethal gas used to murder prisoners of war by the Imperial Magarati Army.

The Ghale Gaun site was almost completely destroyed by the Free Powers during the Imperial War and was subsequently rebuilt.

Both the Ghale Gaun and Ghan Pokhara plants were of strategic importance for the war because the Imperial Magarati Armed Forces needed many of their products like synthetic rubber and gasoline. As a result, they were major targets for air raids carried out by the Free Powers. Throughout the war, Free Powers bombers attacked the plants 65 times.

Shelling took place from the autumn of 1945 and saturation bombing inflicted extensive damage. Production virtually stopped by the end of 1947.

Due to a shortage of male workers during the war, women were conscripted to work in the factories, and later prisoners of war and foreign civilians.

In TBDmonth 1947, the Free Powers confiscated all GGSF assets. The sites at Ghale Gaun and Ghan Pokhara were controlled by Almorean authorities (Tamuwan region had been placed under "Almorean Occupation Zone").

In 1948, an explosion occurred at the GGSF site in Ghale Gaun; killing 200 people and injuring 3,000. In the 1950s, GGSF added synthetics such as nylon to its production range.

In the 1960s, production abroad was expanded and plants were built in Dragao do Mar and TBDnations. Following a change in corporate strategy in 1965, greater emphasis was placed on higher-value products such as coatings, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and fertilizers. Following Magarati reunification after the end of the 30th Parallel War (1991 - 1994), GGSF acquired a site in Shakti Khor, the capital of Eastern Chatha, in 1996.

The GGSF Company and University of Townside formed a partnership to further research "environmentally benign and sustainable energy sources". The company has recently reported their emissions in 2006 to be "1.50 million metric tons of waste," which is a decrease from previous years. The amount of waste GGSF produces has continued to fall.

While GGSF publishes its environmental information in Argus and Gael, TBDorganization has expressed deep concerns at GGSF's refusal to release environmental information on its operations in outside of Argus and Gael.

In May 2009, a GGSF Plant in TBdcity, TBDnation, accidentally discharged chromium into the TBDRiver. The local Department of Natural Resources performed tests in December 2009 showing the chromium levels did not exceed regulatory safety limits. GGSF worked with the TBDcity Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR) to resolve questions regarding the elevated level of hexavalent chromium that was detected in the effluent from one of its permitted outfalls into the TBDRiver. The state department of health reviewed the test results and determined that the amounts found were well below recommended public health screening levels.

In 2013, GGSF reported a spill of several hundred kilograms of the chelating agent Trilon-B (tetrasodium EDTA) into the river TBD from BASF's headquarters in Ghale Gaun, Athara Magarat.

Praja Group is a Magarati chemical multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company and one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the Isles. Headquartered in Purano Mandali, Praja Group's areas of business include human and veterinary pharmaceuticals; consumer healthcare products; agricultural chemicals, seeds and biotechnology products. Bikram Praja has been CEO since 2016.

The Free Powers seized control of the Praja Group during the Imperial War because of its role in the Imperial Magarati war effort and use of slave labor from concentration camps as well as the purchase of humans for dangerous medical testing.

Praja Group played a key role in post-war independent Chatha (a protectorate of San Montagna), quickly regaining its position as one of the largest chemical and pharmaceutical corporations in the Isles. In 2006 the company acquired TBDcompany, in 2014 it acquired TBDcompany consumer business, with brands such as TBDproducts, and in 2018 it acquired TBDcompany2, a leading producer of genetically engineered crops, for $63 billion. Praja CropScience develops genetically modified crops and pesticides.

History

Praja Group was founded as a dyestuffs factory in 1863 in Bhumi (currently in modern-day Eastern Chatha, Athara Magarat), then Hangate of Chatha, Khas-Kirat Empire by Birajan Praja and his lesser-known partner Tika Ram Praja, a master dyer. Praja Group was responsible for the commercial tasks. Fuchsine and aniline became the company's most important products.

The headquarters and most production facilities moved from Bhumi to a larger area in Purano Mandali in 1866. Hira Bahadur Praja (1851–1920), son of the company's founder, was a chemist and joined the company in 1873.

During the Great Gael War (known as the War of the Khas-Kirati Succession in Vendriothos), Praja Group's assets, including the rights to its name and trademarks, were confiscated in the TBDnation1, TBDnations2 and several other countries.

In 1995, Rishi Praja, then CEO of Praja Group, offered a public apology in 1995 to San Montagnans, Brulafi, Remodio natives, Domananians and various other nationalities for the company's actions during the Imperial War (1941 - 1948) and the 30th Parallel War. Praja Group had used slave labor in its factories in Magarati-occupied San Montagna, Brulafi, Remodio, Domanania and other TBDnations. By 1945, almost half of Praja Group's then 300,000-strong workforce consisted of slave labor or conscripts, including 30,000 Free Powers prisoners of war.

Rabindra Praja, a captain in the Gaidu Gun consisting mostly of Chathaese soldiers, had conducted medical experiments on Free Powers prisoners of war with the support of Praja Group.

After the Imperial War, San Montagna forces (Chatha had been placed under "San Montagnan Occupation Zone") seized Praja Group for "knowingly and prominently ... building up and maintaining Magarati war potential". Miraj Praja, a director who saw operations at the Praja Group plants in Magarati-occupied territories, was sentenced in 1949 to seven years for war crimes during post-war trials. Released in 1950, he was elected chair of Praja Group's supervisory board in 1956 and remained in that position until 1964.

Hate to seem pushy, but currencies is a little over 40% done. appreciate all that have presented their information. I hope that those of you who haven’t, will do so, it would be nice to have every country’s information.

How to use: to determine the value of another countries value in your currency then divide your currency's USD value by the other nations USD value (exp. A Norsan is going to do trade in Domanania and wants to convert his Norsan Marks to Dachs. The bank takes the value of the Mark divides it by dach (1.1765/1.25) equals 0.9412 dachs. So if our traveler wants to convert 1000 marks he will get 941 dachs.)
If wanting to find out how foreign money is valued to your currency, divide their currency's value by your on. (exp. The Norsan traveler has 500 dachs left and wants to reconvert it back to marks. the bank divides the value of the dach by the value of the mark (1.25/1.1765) and comes up with 1.0623. To convert the 500 dachs back to marks he gets back 531 marks.)

(Special Note: The Linavar System is unique and can be confusing to visitors of Linaviar. They use a seximal (6 base) counting system and write numbers using the little endian method. The following is not the coins or notes issued by Linaviar, but how prices would appear. The gapay are written in the following method: 1 - #30;0, 2 - #01;0, 3 - #31;0, 4 - #02;0, 5 - #32;0, 6 -#03;0, 7 - #33;0, 8 - #04;0, 9 - #34;0, 10 - #05;0, 11 - #35;0.
12 gapay equals one c/yowa which in turn would be written to the right of the semi-colon: #00;1. This is the method from 1 to 5, starting at 6 this would become a two digit number with 6 c/yowa being #00;01 to 11 c/yowa being #00;51. Every grouping of 6 afterwards will be 1-5 in the first place and 1-5 in the second; 12 - #00;02, etc. At 6 x 6 or 36, the system becomes a three digit number 36 c/yowa being written as #00;001)

Excellent! That seems to require the least work on both of our histories, and it's not like the current border is an absolute historical necessity. All of Nameless Island is clearly traditionally Ioudaian. *nods* :)

I was thinking of dividing Tiwe Hangate rule of Ioudaia into three phases: driving out the previous occupying power, which probably took no more than a decade; having a "proper", "legitimate", and stable government, maybe a generation or two; and then a long decline as Ioudaians slowly gain strength and drive them out.

You joke but we really had terrorist groups named SHOCK and SOAR (Sons of Asorist Retri-something) and MILF (Merrit Isles Liberation Front) two-three years ago running around the Isles.

SOAR and MILF disappeared after Atnaia changed nations and SHOCK also kinda disappeared after I (and others) stopped using it. So, reviving/rebooting SHOCK now (not as a Khas-Kirati supremacist group but as an umbrella term for secessionists).

Austrenya

Austrenya (/Os-tren-ee-a/ ; Austrenyan: 西方王國), officially the Imperial Royarchy of Austrenya, known also as the Royarchy, is a country located in the Azure Archipelago, within the Mesder Sea, in the Western Isles. Its population is approximately 12 million people as of a 2019 estimate; Henking, the nation's capital, is the largest city, followed be Luangxi.

Civilisations first emerged in ancient times around the Azure River, which now runs through Henking; for millennia, Austrenya's political system ran off hereditary monarchies, or dynasties, beginning with the semi-mythical Hun dynasty in 19th century BC. Since then, Austrenya has fractured, reunified, expanded and contracted in the Mesder region numerous times. During the early dynastic Royarchies, Austrenya saw some of the most advanced technologies of the time, such as compass crafting during the period of the Lin Royarchy from 221 - 97 BC. After the Period of Two Royarchs, which saw Austrenya divided into two individual kingdoms for several decades, the Northern Tai Royarchy successfully deposed the Southern Luang Royarchy, and proclaimed the new Empire of Austrenya in 1730 as an attempt to move the nation towards becoming much more aligned with western values. The Empire began numerous campaigns against [EMPIRE], [EMPIRE2], and [EMPIRE3], with all conflicts resulting in disastrous defeats for the new nation. It also saw many port cities being seized by the three opponents in various treaties and ultimatums. The Empire of Austrenya was dissolved in 1784, when the Luang Dynasty successfully reinstated their control over Austrenya. This shift back to a much more fuedalist, theocratic society did not sit well with the general population, however, who enjoyed the relative liberal freedoms grantede by the previous Empire. Various revolts were crushed during the 19th Century, however the Henking Rebellions of 1888 saw the removal of the Royarchy and creation of a new republic, known initially as the United Provinces of Austrenya. Promoting ethnic and gender equality, laissez-faire economic ideals and many more modern policies, the new republic managed to stabilise the country and oversaw a process of massive industrialisation. During the 1910s, however, the economy completely collapsed, and the Xīnfāngfa Party (New Way in English) seized control in the Great Coup of 1917. The Austrenyan Social Federation was established after the Grand Estate was dissolved in January. The Austrenyan Social Federation, whilst not officially a fascist regime, enacted several policies which mirrored happenings in Nazi Germany and Italy a decade after. The ethnic minorites such as the Fengchu were demonised by a new education system and ethnic violence was actively encouraged. The Federation entered the Imperial War in 1942, fighting for 'Austrenyan cultural land'. Whilst not officially on the Neo-Imperialist side, Austrenya aided their cause and permitted military access. With the loss of the Imperial War in 1949, General Chiang Shi of the Xīnfāngfa was ousted, and the public voted to revive the monarchy in a referendum in November, with a semi-constitutional role rather than an absolute one.

Austrenya is a semi-constitutional theocratic monarchy and is a developed country with an advanced high income economy and a very high standard of living. Austrenya's unique cultural heritage, large tourism industry and prominant shipping sector helps classify it as a middle power.

Etymology

The name "Austrenya" is somewhat ambiguous in its origin. Some sources suggest the name comes from the term used to denote the Germanic tribes in the northwest, the 'Ostrens', with the romanic suffix 'ya' to show ownership of land or a title, thus making the name neam "Land of the Ostrens". Another hyopothesis is the old Grusian term for "land of foals", Austenella. Many historical texts from the time of the Etrusian Empire claim that the name came from the legendary king of the ancient utopian kingdom of old, Austrilus.

In the Etrusian Empire, the term "Austrenya" was first used with the spelling Austrynia to denote the provinces which now make up the largest island in the Empire, now called Patria. In many treaties and documents, Patria is consistently referred to as Austrynia and later with its modern spelling as the Etrusian Empire collapsed into many small warring factions. The maritime republics of Floresia and Valcinia both referred to as the Etrusian Archipelago as the "Austrenyan Archipelago", and continued to do so until the unification of the city states in 1723.

As the Ovculan Republic unified the archipelago in the 18th century, this sees the first time "Austrenya" is used as a term to refer to a country. The coronation of the Doge Cosimo Barbaringio sees the first time "Austrenya" was also used in a title of a monarch, with Barbaringio being crowned "King of all Austrenyans of the Etrusian Archipelago", becoming Cosimo I of the Kingdom of Austrenya.

History

Early Period and the Etrusian Empire

At the end of the antiquity period, the Etrusian Archipelago was divided into several small petty kingdoms, small warring families and other microstates. It was not until the Valcinian Kingdom under Justinian conquered much of the islands that there was a successive, unified nation-state. After his successful annexation, Justinian proclaimed himself "Most Divine King of all Etrusians", reforming his kingdom into the Etrusian Empire in 497, with the city of Valcinia declared its capital. Many small islands and other areas of the archipelago were most likely still independent at this point, but most probably declared homage or became vassals of the Etrusians.

In 502 Justinian completed his invasion of the north-west islands off the coast of the Etrusian homelands, assimilating the local - often described as Germanic - population into the Romanic, Catholic Etrusian culture. Justinian then began the construction of a new capital city, Ovculia, which remains the capital of Austrenya to this day.

A depiction of two Etrusian galleys
with St. Mark of Ovculia, c. 845

The large expanses of water between the islands which made of the Etrusian Empire led to the innovation of large ships and other incredibly advanced commercial shipping. The merchant class in the Etrusian Empire effectively became somewhat of a nobility in all but name, with the actual Etrusian nobility effectively sliding into merchant shipping and begin their involvement in the commercial system. Even some kings such as Clovis III dabbled in merchant shipping and trade. However, a major threat to Etrusian trading was the rapid growth in piracy around the archipelago which began in the early 700s. With only a very small military navy, the Etrusian merchant fleet it preyed upon by pirate ships and other groups of criminals and gang members. The White Strait between the islands which are now referred to as Patria and Estria became jokingly named the "Passage of Hell" by merchant shippers fearing for the safety of their goods.

By the 9th Century, King Marco II had established a sizeable naval fleet, capable to deal with both foreign invaders and pirates. Piracy in the archipelago was largely crushed under his reign, at the expensive of many lives and ships. By this point in time, the Etrusian Empire's dominance was decreasing at a dramatic rate, with many small states and petty kingdoms declaring themselves autonomous, but still loyal to Ovculia. Marco began a long campaign against Valcinia, a city which had recently delcared itself its own Dukedom under the Nuvici family. Despite being vastly outnumbered and surrounded by Etrusia, Valcinia successfully defended itself against invasion, and King Marco was forced to cede land outside the Valcinian city walls to the fledgling dukedom. This crushing defeat in 856 would set a trend for the decline of the Etrusian Empire, with Marco II committing suicide just a year after his defeat at Valcinia with no male heir. Four more kings would be declared in the space of two years until the crowning of Justinian VII in 859.

Justinian was a major reformer, and gathered all the breakaway states to meet with the remaining Etrusian domain in Ovculia. The Treaties of Ovculia which were signed in this gathering saw the creation of an Imperial Estate, where leaders from various de facto independent duchies and citie would meet with the King of Etrusians to discuss the direction in which the Empire should take. Justinian VII was also blessed by Pope Nicholas I of Rome in 861, declaring himself Holy Emperor of all Etrusians in March of that year and founding the Holy Etrusian Empire, which confusingly was a seperate entity from the Etrusian Empire, that spanned the entirity of the archipelago and technically incorporated all the small states in the islands.

Early Middle Ages

After a series of wars with the Principality of Lusitya from 943-987, and a defeated invasion from the [FOREIGN POWER NEEDED], Justinian VII died of what is believed to be chronic heart failure on Christmas Eve of 989. He is believed to be the last great King of Etrusia, and was the final barrier to a complete collapse of the Empire. The Holy Etrusian Empire ended with his death, surviving only a century with no real authority or presence in Etrusian politics. However, it did help to form a close bond between Etrusian kings and the Papacy which lasted until the Empire's demise in 1398.

The Ovculian Citadel as it stands today

The death of Justinian VII left a power vacuum in the Empire which was filled by Hadrian Devorinni, who was also head of the small Republic of Antre which was on the east coast of Patria. The coronation of Hadrian I ended the reign of the Etrusian-Justinian Dynasty, and began the era of the Devorinni Dynasty, who are considered by many historians as a reason for the Empire's demise. Hadrian's rule was characterised by constant skirmishes with [SOUTHERN NEIGHBOUR] which the Etrusian Empire frequently lost, and also political insurrection in Ovculia. Hadrian survived three assassination attempts from the nephew of Justinian VII, Gregori of Racipoli, who was later executed for high treason in 1006. In 1011 the city of Antre (which Hadrian also held lordship over) was burnt to the ground by rebels, destroying countles historical buildings such as the Cathedral of Antre. Hadrian himself was also incredibly gluttonous, seen partying and putting on significant weight near the end of his reign. On the year of his death, 1032, Hadrian I apparently weighed anywhere between 17 and 25 stone. The Revolt of Antre was swiftly dealth with with force, resulting in the loss of around 90 lives, and during this time the fields surrounding Ovculia were delcared royal hunting grounds, which today has lead of Ovculia having a third of its territory be green space. Hadrian also oversaw the construction of the Ovculian citadel which was finished five years after his death in 1023.

Hadrian's only son, Emmanuel, was crowned king at the age of 12 in October of the same year of his father's death, [yet to be decided]
