Yes! Hope everything goes back to normal in Texas. Senator Ted Cruz cut short his vacation to help his State. Ted Cruz is a great Senator and Texas is lucky to have him.

Yeah global "warming", and everything is cold!!

Gazoo loves the cold/winter than the hot/summer

Yeah! It must suck! The Wind Turbines failed to generated electricity because it froze! So much for "Green energy" it failed when it was needed the most

Stay Warm Gazoo's Friend!! Texas would survive all this!!

Yes! Gazoo sents well and warm wishes to all Texans in this great Union!

Yes! Please stay safe all our Texans and Southern States

‘Hero’ senator Cruz- he abandoned millions of Texans (and his DOGGO) to go on holiday to Mexico!!! How is he a HERO for coming back and doing his job like he was SUPPOSED to right from the start? Coming back is something he shouldn’t even have to do. He should’ve been there from the start and instead he abandoned everyone there. Real ‘hero’. And it wasn’t the bloody wind turbines that that caused this, it’s climate change and the republican’s INABILITY to manage social systems correctly, INCLUDING electricity apparently! People have be STARVING!!! THEY HAVE HAD NO FOOD FOR DAYS. People are freezing in their houses with no way of asking for help because their devices are dead with no way to charge them, no food, no heating, contaminated water... how you could ever blame this on green energy, I don’t know. And how you can call that evil bastard Cruz a HERO- I’m horrified.

I think the odd and unusual conditions seen in the southern US are most peculiar. Global Warming or not, you can't sit there and deny that our climate is doing some funky stuff.

I also dont think we should be arguing when people are dying because of this catastrophe, whatever may have caused this should be fixed to prevent people dying in the future. Be that by creating a clean efficient energy supply to all citizens or just ensuring basic hot water to everyone. I know your opinions may differ but people are starving and dying. My thoughts go out to everyone who has been effected.

Very true we gain nothing from pointless arguing we need to see what is really going on here. The bourgeoisie are back at it again attempting to put down the working class and yet we sit here and argue over red and blue party lines. Now is the time for unity to help our fellow working class folks down in Texas and to fight the tyranny of the bourgeoisie.

I'll most likely be less active on NationStates for the time being and potentially the regional Discord Server too, but if anyone ever needs me, I'm always here.

I shall pass the Foreign Policy factbook to the manager of the Keeper of the UAS so future Ministers of Foreign Affairs or Regional Affairs shall be able to access the Foreign Policy, and the factbook for the Non-Aligned Movement shall be handed to Cappedore, and the future of the party shall be in his hands.

Thank you for the great times and the great experiences, my friends.

I want to thank you for being a smart person who was actually willing to actually stand for your own ideals and for being a good boss. Not only this but when I criticized the old Reformist Party I was listened to and was not shut down which I respect and am thankful for. And finally I want to say thanks for just being a good person and in my time in this region being a great part of it. We all owe you so much and if I could I would give you an award.

Eakiran federation wrote:Gotta love how the captain abandoned ship, then came back to it after a day, magically becoming a hero for cutting short his attempt at escape after getting the well deserved blizzard of criticism.

One favourite section of French history for me includes the part where the last guy who had to cut short his escape after getting found out was then rightfully branded as a traitor to the nation and sent to Madame Guillotine. (Not that Ted “Cruzing away from the peasants” deserves to literally die, but I’d like to see someone without the interest of state and people to get punished when his seat is up for grabs again.)

For the first part, there’s a reason why climate change is the more appropriate term, and that doesn’t change the fact that more erratic weather is to the detriment of all life not already suited to a wasteland.

Second part, yes, wind is entirely to blame for this, even though gas is still the main source of energy generation in Texas (wind contributing slightly less than half of gas at 24.8%), and other states do use green energy and yet those didn’t suffer from a severe outage (Iowa comes second to Texas in terms of wind power production, but no outages).

Finally, sorry to all Texans for arguing over your suffering, I hope you all stay safe and warm during the meantime. If only tropical climate can be shipped across the world. To hell with the heat and humidity.

Regarding green energy failing, I’d like to point out that again, Texas mostly relies on gas and those plants failed too, it’s almost as if Texas never had to deal with cold weather and thus never prepared accordingly rather than the specific failure of green energy that only provides a portion of energy for Texas.

On his daughters, I have reason to believe that it’s the other way round, and I’m glad Ted Cruz has discovered that his daughters are the worst kind of human shields he can put in front of his PR. I’m not going to discount the fact that there is a possibility that they genuinely wanted this, but Ted Cruz is a Congressman representing Texas, he should know better than to abandon his own constituents for a little trip to Mexico.

Truly, “they aren’t sending their best”.

Oh I wish we could come to a consensus, unfortunately false claims of what was to blame for the outage (the lack of preparation for erratic climate), and the actions of Cancun Cruz (I actually like this nickname, but I digress, Cruz fled to Mexico during this crisis, leaving his poodle behind and then when he was forced to return after his PR took a hit, he practically tried to use his daughters to explain his flight from the troubles of his constituents) are being spread by the local trumpet.

Okay so the Reformists transformed into the LDs, which later all but died, and part of the membership broke off into the Non Aligned Movement. I'm currently the only LD Senator, with Ensbridge as the other remaining LD member. Basically the political situation is a mess.

Nimbys wrote:A PROCLAMATION TO THE SENATE

Due to the departure of Leria from the region, our regional community sadly shrunk by one WA Member. That WA Member happened to be Senate Consul Cappedore's "backer" in the UAS Non-Aligned Movement. As such, due to lack of a supporting member Cappedore automatically resigned both the Consulship and his wider Senate seat upon Leria's departure. I had noted this had yet to be spotted, so I must proceed with the "procedural w*nkery" that must duly follow.

As a result of Cappedore losing his Senate seat he, de facto, immediately resigned the Consulship. Therefore all current Senatorial activity must be suspended and, under the Standing Orders imposed in S.B.1 a vote to elect a new Consul is to be placed to the floor immediately. Should Cappedore regain his seat in time for the election, he is entitled to stand, however as stated he must first regain a Senate seat. Due to the Consulship being vacant since Leria's departure, all actions made by former Consul Cappedore since approximately 00:00 GMT, 19th February 2021 must be deemed null and void. This does not include the vote on CAVII however, as the vote began before the deposition of the former Consul.

However, sadly SB36 cannot be put to a vote until this Senate elects a new Consul to manage procedural affairs. This was not my intention, as I co-authored it with Cappedore and had every intention of co-sponsoring it with him, however is a sad reality of Leria's departure in its immediate result.

I do solemnly believe everything stated above is factual and accurate to the best of my knowledge at the time of writing. Due to the vacancy in the office of Consul of the Senate, I shall copy in Madam Prime Minister United regions of israel and Chief Justice Zetox to ensure the following transition to the next Consul, whomever this honourable Senate opts to elect, is conducted peacefully and to the letter of the law.

With Respect,
Sen. Nimbys

Nations of the Region,

A flight to Cancun is stupid to do when your constituents are freezing to death. Zetox, how would you feel if your Senators left your state to go to a vacation, while you suffered. It is not right. Also, what troubles me more is that he blamed his children for his ACTIONS!!!! What kind of man or should I say father would do such a thing to his children. To blame them is utterly disgusting. He can stay there, no one in Texas likes that Canadian so-called American asshole. If he doesn't want to help, fine he can leave the state. We don't need his help; Beto O'Rourke and including AOC, who is not even representing Texas, have helped us Texans who are struggling right now.

The term "global warming" is misleading. Climate change is the right term to use in this case. This is the worstest cold snap ever recorded in Texas history.

Actually, wind turbines barely even make up the electricity produced in Texas. Natural gas and ERCOT are to blame in this case. Because of high demand and poor winter infrastructure, Texas' lone power grid failed Texans.

Well if "green energy" didn't failed probably Texas would have had sufficient energy and would not have caused the price of natural gas sky rocked to the whole United States!
