Yes, be careful with medication, but there are times when you need it.

I will. When I am older and able to go to church I will, and regularly.

Oh, that’s great, but do you think this will impact the political neutrality of our region? Should we have a committee or exercise greater efforts to associate with some pious friends on the more liberal side of politics?

I mean, assuming they exist haha.

Speaking from the left of the region, I have never seen any problems with political neutrality. I can't think of any embassies with left or liberal leaning regions right now, but I assume that we already have them.

No problem. I'm currently looking through our embassies, even. This is fun.

It turns out that we don't have an embassy with The Christian Communist Union. I thought we did, surprisingly. I appear to have been thinking about two of my other regions.

Our embassy list is so eclectic lmao, we have the Philippines, a vital organ [Heart], the continent of Africa, and what I can only assume is a Paradox Interactive game personified. [Victorian era rp 2]

You're forgetting the continent of Europe, and a German town (Worms, one of mine). It's a good list.

Well, I don't know if it's worth reaching out to a region with three people, eh?

Who knows? We have an embassy with a one-nation region (The House of Prayer). Although that region exists for embassy nations, really, so that they can pray together.

Asher wrote:I’d be interested to hear your perspective on topics such as Just War Theory and if Christians should use self defense? My personal convictions are sort of in the middle. I pray violence would never need to be used, but I also know sometimes the most loving thing I could do in a situation might require violence such as stopping a woman from being raped or murdered. I also think their is several instances where we see Jesus both support self defense, but also pacifism. I think the point is to constantly keep the believer thinking on whether or not his actions are right in a situation.

I just realised I never responded to this! Just War Theory, to me is an oxymoron and I think was developed as a middle ground to try and reconcile the often violent practices of the church with a pacifist gospel - a product of history less relevant to today. In saying that, I sympathise with the premise of Just War Theory from a statecraft perspective, I just don’t think it is the best interpretation of the gospel. The questions you raise about self-defence are really valid and important. I’ve always thought my natural instinct would be to fight back but hope that my faith would prevail. It’s sooo contextual but I think the 2 principles spelt out are zero harm and non-violence. The first is most important, violence, would only be permissible in the most extreme circumstances but everything should be done to work for peace and avoid the need to ever get there. I think that’s the point. The government and others may fight wars and make enemies but as Christians, we work to heal and bring peace and hope to the world in a loving, nonviolent way. I have so much respect for Quakers, Amish, Christadelphians and Mennonites for their pacifist stances. As someone who sees themselves in the neo-anabaptist camp, pacifism is a principle I advocate for, much like Greg Boyd and others. Amazing question - in my mind I just desperately hope it remains hypothetical for me.

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

Some how miraculously a vegetable grew out of nowhere from our yard.

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ was lifted high upon the Cross that he might draw the whole world to himself: Mercifully grant that we, who glory in the mystery of our redemption, may have grace to take up our cross and follow him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
