The Kingdom of Babylon is a gargantuan, orderly nation, renowned for its ubiquitous missile silos, soft-spoken computers, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 15.061 billion Babylonians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, well-organized government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Industry, Education, and Law & Order are also considered important, while International Aid and Spirituality aren't funded at all. The average income tax rate is 41.1%.

The powerhouse Babylonian economy, worth a remarkable 1,372 trillion Golds a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Tourism. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 91,107 Golds, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.3 times as much as the poorest.

Only AIs know why the nation is rapidly increasing its semiconductor stockpile, children seem to be getting better at lying these days, foreign nationals are widely distrusted, and companies are turning to trained Lions for their most menial jobs. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Babylon's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Babylon is ranked 211,486th in the world and 8,122nd in Balder for Largest Gambling Industry, scoring -3.07 on the Kelly Criterion Productivity Index.
