Holiday Poem Contest Entry

When it comes around, every year,
The time that everyone's filled with cheer,
And friends and family gather 'round,
The season that snow covers the ground;

Smiles and gifts are exchanged, and laughter fills the air,
Blue, green, and red lights can be seen everywhere,
But, the night before, the kids can't sleep,
So eager to hear the pitter-patter of magic reindeer feet;

The sun has set, and midnight is near,
We all can't wait for Christmas to be here,
This year's been tough, we all know that's true,
But here's to a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays--from me, to you!
