The oldest form of the nation dates back to the rise of The linavian empire in the 1350s C.E. and gained its current republican form during the early 1900s, with the Declaration of Imperial Disestablishment in 1923 and the Establishment of the Republic with the Signing of the Constitution in 1938.

Is your population mostly homogeneous, or are there multiple cultural or racial groups? If the latter, describe the makeup and differences.
While to the outside world the nation presents a "Linavian" people, and this is true to a certain extent due to intermingling brought upon by the formation of The Empire, Linaviar is composed of a number of native ethnicities, which can themselves be divided into subcultures. There is also a sizeable English, Alantanaian, and Xrevaran presence (the last seen by some neo-imperialists as part of the Linavian cultural sphere), as well as minor populations from nations around The Western Isles.

The current economic structure of the government would be unsustainable under significant pressure, and would fall apart should trust in the government ever falter.
