A Message From the Ministry of Culture:
Hello again everyone! Co-Minister of Culture Void here. I've learned two things so far this term. One, I'm very bad at being able to tell when two days has passed, and two, the fact that people are voting for cheese being a loaf of bread means that our region is dead and never recovering... okay maybe not that bad but you're all still wrong. Okay, I'm going to do my job now.

Today's question is:

"What is something you think should be added to NS?

This QotD idea came from our lovely Co-Minister Kitty. If you have an idea for a QoTD or poll, telegram Kingdom of Voidstania or alternatively join the Ministry of Culture on Discord to submit your ideas! We're currently doing some major reforms, especially to the QoTD system, so we could REALLY use the help. We'd really appreciate it if you would join us. Like please. I'm begging. Please.

Wagnaria wrote:My point was we shouldn't be felt compelled to endorse anyone. I've been banned from 3 regions in 3 days for not endorsing their "chosen leader" I'll endorsed who my ethics dictate I should endorse

The issue isn't your opinion about endorsing those you agree with, it's that the game just doesn't work like that. Likely, you have to endorse the delegate to prevent the region from being griefed (because the position of WA delegate comes with in game power), otherwise they'll think you're a griefer and ban-ject you.

I know this sounds silly, but allowing something akin to embassies for individual nations. Think of it as an "Allies List" where you can connect on your nations' main page showing who your allies are, even for RP purposes only. I think it could be fun.

And you can also do an enemies list too.

opt-in in-context controls, so that those who want to rp can have more detailed, ic-only stats such as population and policies, so that they can build a lore-accurate nation and not need to worry about it being affected by unexpected issue outcomes, along with having an ooc nation that is affected by issue outcomes. it’s a ridiculous idea but the ‘ns stats not canon’ part in half the signatures on the forum itches my brain wrong

No, because what do we call bread. A loaf of bread. We do not call it its prior form (ie, a loaf of wheat). Therefore, by this logic, cheese arranged in the shape of a loaf would be a loaf of cheese. Furthermore, this would align with the dictionary definition from Oxford Languages (aka the Google definiton) which states that a loaf is an item of food formed into an oblong shape and sliced into portions. Not the predecessor to said food, but the food itself. Sliced cheese is a loaf of cheese. Simple.

This is correct. Shrimps is bugs though, that part's true.

Im sure we can reach a compromise

I am here to mediate a very detailed and important compromise for you, The United Socialist States of Kenyry and The Second Stanian Empire of Kingdom of Voidstania

Let me eat all your cheese.

No it’s our cheese comrade, you have been found guilty of counter revolutionary behavior, 20 years gulag/j

Kenyry wrote:Im sure we can reach a compromise

The compromise is that shrimp are, in fact, bugs. Due to crustaceans being in Phylum Anthrapoda. That's just true. I will not bend on my opinion about cheese not being a milk loaf

Ah inter-left infighting a story as old as time itself

Maybe more ways to interact with your own nation. Currently, only issues can affect it, but I wish there were other stuff (e.g.: a crisis)!

Knowing the liberal developers however nations like ours (socialist) would have an unjust amount of crisis’s we’d have to solve because well… “no food” or “communism is when famine”

I actually thought of something like it! Something that doesn't look anywhere possible in the near future because of the devs but a decrease in the liberalism. Sure, a food crisis in a socialist nation CAN happen, but making it so that socialists or communists frequently go through it isn't really fun. A balancing would have to happen if it were to be implemented

Honestly? I’d be interested in having a military arms section, like what is and isn’t adopted, or maybe a history section where you can further flesh out the history of your nation over the years and government styles

I respectfully have to disagree, as the above statement is factually incorrect; the majority of cheese is not generally formed into oblong portions. The exception is those cheeses deliberately produced as bitesize bars, for inclusion in variety packs and Christmas hampers.

Traditionally it is instead formed into round portions, known as wheels - which are then stored to cure naturally over time.

During industrial scale mass-market production, the curds are instead pressure formed into a large cubic mass known as a block, inside a large specialised vat, and force-cured in a short period of time.

In both instances, the formed mass is then sliced into smaller forms, such as mini wheels, smaller blocks, and wedges, which themselves are then sliced.

As such, cheese cannot be a loaf, as the original formed mass is not oblong.
Note that this doesn't apply to American style processed cheese slices; these are extruded into slices from a chemically treated lactose rich sludge, without a formation stage.

The dictionary definition quoted is also factually incorrect; a sugar loaf (a formed bulk mass of refined sugar that is then sliced into smaller portions, using sugar nips) is cone shaped.

Fair enough I just don’t trust them to do it right, like I mean there’s the Nazi sympathizer rally issue where if you vote to not let the inhuman scum (Nazis) have the rally your political freedom drops and in my opinion that’s bullshit tbh

I respectfully disagree. While yes, most cheese is traditionally formed into a round shape known commonly as a wheel, and highlights the generalization being made in the statement "Is cheese a milk loaf" which incorrectly makes a generalization about all cheeses being in loaf shape, a loaf does not require the formation of the item in said shape, rather requires the item to be oblong and sliced as per the prior definition, which sliced cheeses often are. Furthermore, sugarloaf is a singular word, and is defined as such by the Oxford Languages dictionary, therefore classifying it as a separate definition and therefore irrelevant to the definition of the word loaf.

Cheese Fight in the Bloc...more likely thank you think.

I’ve been reading this Lesbian manga, and now I’m full of sapphic energy, it’s nearing fatal levels, I don’t have long to live

Not as bad as the pineapple on pizza debate. I just wanted to rant about NS stats.

As an half Italian if I catch anyone with pineapple pizza, I will kill them, granted I knew someone who put spaghetti on pizza (this sin is unforgivable)
