I’d obviously want everyone to be happy with a decision, rather than just a majority, so I’d probably try to help both sides discuss it in a more organized way to see if they could come to one decision. But if that fails, I think I’d ask one person from each side of the bill if they could make a decision between the two of them, and I’d go with that.
I don’t want to choose based on the majority, I want to choose based on everyone. So if everyone is being stubborn, I’d ask just two people to figure it out between them, representing the opinion they share with others. This would hopefully represent the conclusion that would come from more time for everyone to talk about it.
Edit: Since we’re also choosing the delegate via consensus, I’ll probably see how things turn out with this and form some ideas from it.
In the event that the community is evenly divided I would use discretion and either abstain from voting (purposefully) or I would choose based on my own knowledge of the proposal. In the minimum delegate responsibilities listed by wintermoot, voting on WA resolutions is a requirement, but a purposeful abstinence from voting due to community division would likely be the best option, and I doubt many would object to that
Thank you for the question that was a very good one :)
I was thinking about abstaining too, so I have a question for you that I asked myself.
Which comes first, your requirements, or the happiness of Wintreath?
In the vast majority of cases abstaining would be my first choice, it would require some sort of unusual circumstance for me to feel the need to not abstain
Two things:
Do you think this is a valid fulfillment of your role?
And another situation. If there was a clear majority and minority on a resolution, would you go with the majority, try to have everyone come to a consensus, or something else?
Yes, I do believe that a purposeful abstinence from voting due to a division is fine, plenty of large delegates do this too, and the situations that call for it aren’t all that common.
I would vote with the majority. If I disagreed with the majority opinion, I would still vote accordingly with them, but I would put out a recommendation to vote contrary to the majority, and if I felt really strongly about it I would campaign people through TGs to change their vote.
Coming to a consensus isn’t really something that I think would be entirely feasible, as some people voting wouldn’t be active enough to see it and/or change their vote, and others wouldn’t care to acknowledge or engage. There are a lot of people in wintreath, a lot of them new players.
uhhhh
Hello!
Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. :)
We started off the discussion that will eventually lead to a new delegate, which you can read above here on the RMB. It's been pretty lively between The Age of Dystopia and Aportistopireistan, and hopefully the other candidate will be able to join in soon. :D
We've also had some new nations join over the weekend! Welcome to Harvested Rice (Rice for all!), Bonve Maxtrorinja, The Civilian Republic of America, Sitamgarh! Thanks for joining up with us! We're glad to have you. If you feel comfortable and haven't already, please introduce yourself and let us know what made you choose Wintreath. We'd love to hear from you. :D
Quotes
I'm disappointed that haunting my enemies wasn't an option, but I choose something regardless. :P
But would TCB appreciate the badge? It is an impressive region, at least as far as I know of it, and they seem to do a lot. "The Communist Bloc" is a pretty great obvious name for new players too...I mean, if you're into communism or want to roleplay as a communist nation, it's an obvious choice to check out just by the name alone.
I know this is a joke dispatch, but hey, you're almost always going to get serious from me. I have a minimal sense of humour lol.
I've never even played Roblox lol.
It doesn't necessarily have to be up to me to run everything though. Alcubierre (otherwise known as taulover) runs our Minecraft server, and he does an awesome job of it. I enjoy being a simple player on there. :)
I guess that just means we get to welcome you back again! :D
New Poll: Star Trek or Star Wars?
Since last week was May the 4th...vote in our poll here on the region page!

I'm a star wars guy, but mostly because my parents introduced me to star wars first and I never really got into star trek until relatively recently. I feel that I might have liked trek better if I started with that so idk though.
Star Trek and Star Wars are both great. I think Star Trek takes it because it’s more original in my opinion. I’ve seen star wars sooo many times it’s become quite bland. I blame my Star Wars fanatic of a brother for that. Plus, I really love space and exploring the unknown, asking questions that others don’t have answers to. So I think that’s why Star Trek is my fave. And, Spock’s pretty cute too.
Same here. I don't see it as an either/or proposition. I like them both, two sides of a coin. Star Trek was a game changer. Star Wars relies heavily upon Arthurian tropes crossbred with Western movies.
I joined because this place isn't like some "monarchy of vestupusa" crap. It's simple and efficient. Although, besides the rant. I dislike chaos, but I also am willing to say what needs to be said, though my humor will be disturbing. Remember, if you jail your political enemies, you have free labor for the country. (Still force them to take out loans to pay taxes)
I hope that we all have a good time here. We go offroad to find the best views; we are Wintreath. If you need anything, just ask.
Star Trek put me to sleep.
Question for The Age of Dystopia:
What is your opinion on using the SC to liberate raided regions?
Star Trek, because it's based in science and philosphy . Star Wars is fun to watch (ignore episode 8), but other than that it hasn't much to offer imo.
I haven't watched much of either recently, because the book series im reading right know makes both Star Trek and Star Wars look like a children's story.
Wintermoot, Uniopolis, and Evedenvale
The SC is a vital tool for defenders and the idea that defenders shouldn’t use it to aid occupied regions is absurd one.
Other uses of the SC relevant to r/d but that aren’t to help free a region occupied by raiders differ on the circumstances and nuance, so I can’t really say.
Another, more specific one:
Do you have an opinion on the old injuction of TCB?
So you definitely don't like me, I get it.
I'm fine with you, I mean who doesn't like ritual sacrifice?
If TCB were a frontier it would increase the strength of raiders, and it certainly wouldn't be good for those who are the targets of raiders. Unlike those who are occupied by raiders, an injunction isn't going to destroy their community. It is a bit of a breach of sovereignty, but TCB is not an innocent party and is not undeserving of it.
Uniopolis and Evedenvale
Question, How do I get a "revere sea animal" or something like that banner? Or when I revere a land/sea one It's only one and permanent?
You get the banner Red Dawn when you Revere a land based animal and you can likewise get the banner Very Fishy when you Revere a marine animal
Guess who's back!
