Cerdenia's right. This isn't something we need to debate repetitively on the RMB. Unity's policy isn't to stir trouble, it's to instigate a proper and thorough investigation Developing World.

I agree Mr Speaker, Cerdenia. It should be brought to the courts or left alone. Simply moaning will do nothing.

Developing World wrote:If you hate to claim it so much, why are you claiming it? XD Besides, I am not partisan, if I was partisan I could have attacked every single TPU member present at that investigation who allowed things to happen the way they did, yet I am not exactly for the reason of not being partisan. The fact that this thing still is discussed now and not accepted is a proof that the thing was just hidden and made a taboo subject. We at Unity want to fully turn the page, and the only way of doing it is by understanding what happened and ensure it will never happen again by an investigation with all parties involved happening in the judicial system. And now, the investigation. I am going to be as diplomatic as I can, but yet I can't abstain: do you think we are this dumb? It was literally done on the fcking TPU party server, with participation only from Xernon and TPU members (if you exclude the justices which were ignored by you). No PPT officials, not to mention TRP officials. Saying this was not a TPU investigation is a bruh moment for me. Honestly I didn't think you would say such an absurd thing, as you always had arguments to back things you were saying, even if I disagreed with them.

You are being partisan. You know why? You're calling it a TPU investigation despite the fact that it was not an investigation by the TPU. The only people participating in the investigation were Andusre, Xernon, and I. 2 members of a party and an independent does not make an investigation a party investigation. The manner in which the Prime Minister acted was not as the chairman of the TPU, but rather as the Prime Minister. Similarly, the President acted in the position of the President, not a party entity (which he could not act in anyways because he is an independent). Just because it was done on the TPU server doesn't mean it was TPU business.

I'm not sure where you're getting the claim that the result of the banjection isn't accepted. As far as I'm aware, you're the one making the biggest stink, and even Fishergate is much more mild on the situation. This whole situation was pretty much quiet after the first week, and we've had a relatively peaceful month and a half on the RMB. Perhaps it's more of a hopeless acceptance, wherein people believe they can't do anything about the situation, but I highly doubt that; I would be willing to believe there's more than a fair share of residents who are happy the Party That Shall Not Be Named are gone.

EDIT: Yes, I'm aware I look like an ass when I've posted this message after there have already been calls to drop it for now. Sorry, I was typing this up as those messages went through.

Some AI-driven auto-translators wouldn't be detrimental too. Scientists, get on it so us globalists can rise up.

I hate to be the Johnny Raincloud to all you globalists but what language will the Constitution be written in (the original document)? What currency would be used and how will we get every country to use it without crippling the economy? Who will have the money (resource) to build these 'interconnected transportation systems'? How will the government work? What if there is a rebellion? With lands that broad, how on Earth will it be put down while dealing with literally the rest of the world? Even with scientific innovations, a global society is not possible for an extended amount of time.

Thank you, finally, someone on Unity's side pointing out what I think is the absurd nature of these political hit-jobs and attempts to turn Xernon and I into regional boogeymen.

agh you know what i mean cuckservative!

Someone who aligned with Unity, or its three component parties, in the past.

The marconian state wrote:What TPU investigation? If you're referring to the older investigation done by Andusre and Xernon (and I was there...), that was not a TPU investigation, that was an investigation by the PM and President. Again, just because the powers of the President with regards to banjection were resolved at the constitutional convention doesn't mean he didn't play a major part in the whole situation. I hate to bring up claims of partisanship, but uh, I think you're being partisan.

Again, let sleeping dogs lie.

Who says the constitution has to be written in a single language? Why not write multiple in all the world languages at one time? As for currency, a united one isn't necessary, but something like the euro would probably do fine. As for transportation systems, of course the corporations. They did it with trains and airplanes, who's to say they can't do more? As for the government, I'm not well versed enough to speak on that. Rebellions can be dealt with as they are right now. I don't see why you couldn't deal with rebellions in a global society the same way one does in a smaller.

A very convenient and manipulative excuse. You’re not a child. You’re capable of recognizing the proper channels for things. The investigation took place in a TPU-founded setting. If it wasn’t their business, why did it start, proceed, and conclude there? Why did you have to shuttle in the Justices after the fact, begging us to confirm that you’d found some incriminating evidence? It wasn’t an official government investigation, at least it didn’t start that way.

That would lead to some problems when interpreting the constitution in court.

From my somewhat faded memory, it started as opposition research using information which was in the NS Public Domain, and once we discovered their darker history on NS, it kinda morphed into an issue of protection of the community rather than playing the political game.

It's also noteworthy that setting to me seems largely irrelevant at least for discord. For example, you telling me to "F**k off then" after I apologised for misinterpreting you wasn't a particularly nice thing to do, regardless of whether it happened in DMs or on the Regional Discord Server.

What is important but all too often glossed over here is that NS is a game which is supposed to bring us fun and joy. Having panic attacks at midnight over a lack of real legal authority to deal with a group of friends whose self-obsession caused everyone so much anguish here, that's not what we're about. It's not what Xernon wanted to go through, it's not what I wanted to go through, nor was it what Korsinia or Brototh wanted to go through, and yet, it happened anyway because we forgot the purpose of this game.
Don't get me wrong, Thaecia's democracy is incredibly important to all of us. Incredibly important. But we have to draw the line between real life democracies and a cyber simulator. We can't apply every single nook and cranny of a democratic system to NS because it's just not practical. We will apply everything we practically can apply, like the 3-branched governmental strucuture, codified constitution, etc., because this helps make this hobby fun. When the region's democracy starts churning out toxicity and polluting the minds of its members with pessimism and hatred, that is where our democracy is no longer acting in our best interest and is actively holding us back.

For comparison, a key part of the healthcare industries across the world is confidentiality. Confidentiality is mandatory in almost every single circumstance, with just one exception. When, if left undisclosed, the patient(s) is/are at risk of causing harm to themselves or others, or if their lives are in danger. In a similar sense, democracy is mandatory in every single circumstance, with just one exception, when the region as a whole is suffering communal damage on an unprecedented scale. This exception rarely comes into play.

TLDR Out Of Character (OOC) and In Character (IC) activities both need to be taken into account when we discuss the Party Which Shan't Be Named

besides, they were all major [richard] heads, who actually wants them back? It'll be awkward af
