WHY

bwcause bastille day is over in my country

Auphelia wrote:Indeed! The distinct diction and syntax with which I type is quite distinct, and rare is the nation that dare to type similarly. Mere allusions to formality form illusions of grandeur in the mind of lesser beings, but I have only seen three nations in all my time here with a style that is similar to mine, and not a one frequents our most illustrious RMB. Poppy writes long, but I write dense.

I'm not sure calling yourself dense is the way to go to show your unique writing style :p
I'd say as for myself that I have a different writing style comparing my short posts to my long ones, and also occasionally change writing styles simply based off my mood, not really on purpose, just when I'm in different moods I can have very different speech patterns...
If you want to do a funny caricature of me though just don't include any periods, put commas where they shouldn't be, and end everything with :p :p
It'll be close enough :p

Horrifying, love.

An utter wasteland where good ideas come to die and chaos reigns supreme, spewing forth the noxious fumes of fallacy-ridden arguments and poorly reasoned attempts at social interaction. There is nothing but pain and misery that awaits, should you choose to stay.

Oh, but we have doughnuts on Wednesdays, so that’s what keeps Drystar and the like coming back for more.

You are entirely correct, darling. I have no set manner of writing, but rather I tend to take on the style of the media I consume, most notably books and the like. I tend to read much 19th century literature and 20th century feminist writings, and as such my writing reflects the characteristics of the time.

As another example, after watching Hamilton, I quite literally found myself incapable of expressing my thoughts without utilising rhymes, a complex metred system, and alliteration. I tried so many times to type my thoughts typically, but could not stop until I expressed them lyrically.

SACREBLEU!

Take note of the fact that Sacre Bleu means "Damn it" in French. So by making it a compound word, you're saying "Damnit", which is the same thing.

In my country there never was a bastille day as you can see in the flag

Auphelia. That’s where the one word rule gets ridiculous. This is not spam. This is not harming anyone. This is a clear and cohesive question that only needed one word.

It’s a ridiculous abuse of power to make rules so pointless that not even the RMB that elected you sees their value.

The LC just likes suppressing things because it makes them feel powerful and important and this rule is an excuse to justify that.

You may see yourselves as the thankless defenders of the RMB but let me tell you, there’s a reason you go thankless.

Welp, Instead of WMDs, Napalm bombs are used. I mean they are technically not WMDs but they do leave the 3rd-degree burns.

There's not a lot of ways to fix it. You either remove the rule, which would be anarchic and not recommended, or you change the rule to be "One-word posts are banned unless:
1- It is something used in everyday conversations such as "Hello", "yes" and "no". (which is allowed anyway)
2- (If it's a post that quotes a post) It summarizes what the person that quoted the post meant /what the person whomst post is quoted meant in one word, which would be the best one.

But you can't underestimate the LC. There are a lot of times where the LC was corrupt, I have to agree. But to downright insult the LC isn't what you should do. These people got elected probably because they were good. They didn't get elected through sortition. No. These were fair elections, and the people voted for them.

Removing the rule would not be the end of the world. We got on just fine without it for a very long time.

Neither of the LCs mention anywhere in their campaigns even a hint that they would implement this rule. Come to think of it, Proctethia even mentions ”I am against double posting becoming illegal again.” in their campaign and we all know that didn’t happen.

And the LC election is a popularity contest, no one ends up voting for good candidates. They vote for their friends. How do you think I got elected last term?

I believe they are doing a very bad job at what they were elected to do and I think they know it too. Instead of backing off they’re buckling down.

“What do you mean accidentally?“

“How do you accidentally nuke 3 tribes?“

“Accidentally? How would that work?”

Itch wrote:True. I mean, You're not a bot Auphelia. You can recognize that some one word posts are okay.

Yes, they are. But people hate uneven enforcement even more than universal enforcement. Whatever sort of crusader Zess fancies herself, these rather rude retorts are nothing compared to what happened when we tried to give lenience to one word posts that could make sense. When you expect us to be arbiters of quality, there will be disputes on what qualifies. These rules helped our RMB when we needed them, but it may be time to put them away and test to see if the spam won’t come flooding back like it once did.
