Funny that you mentioned that, but I recently saw an episode of the old Ellery Queen telly show that was based on that verse. The shoes and ships and sealing-wax, of cabbages and kings were all in there.

Know ye all men by these presents that this document establishes a TREATY of FRIENDSHIP between the regions of Aukumnian Imperium and South Pacific.
This Treaty makes explicit the understanding between these two regions and signals to all other NationStates regions the solidarity, respect and friendly relations that exist between Aukumnian Imperium and South Pacific.
This Treaty implies and requires no military involvement or obligation in defending or collaborating on military ventures between the two named regions.
The parties to this Treaty pledge each other fraternity and respect.
This Treaty makes explicit the understanding that neither signatory to this Treaty shall engage in any acts of belligerence or aggression toward the other, or toward any of each regions Provinces, Territories, Colonies or Allies.
Acts of Implementation
Upon ratification of this Treaty by the Government and Ruler of each region, each region must formally accept the treaty by sending an Accredited Diplomat with his/her Diplomatic Nation to the other region.
Such Diplomatic Representative shall present Credentials by posting a statement on the Civil Headquarters/Regional Message Board stating its diplomatic nature, the name of the region it represents, and the fact a Treaty of Friendship exists between the Aukumnian Imperium and South Pacific.
Both parties to this Treaty shall provide a Consulate or an Embassy for their counterpart on their Regional Forum. The Diplomatic Representative shall present his/her Credentials by posting in whichever Forum is dictated by that region’s Government, Culture or Traditions.
The only other material act necessary to activate and keep this Treaty in force shall be that each region shall list the other region by name in it’s World Factbook Entry, or in a World Factbook Entry link that indicates, in whatever language each region shall choose, the ties between the two regions.
The Diplomatic Nations sent to the regions of the signatories to this Treaty may remain in the region and post messages as it deems appropriate, and will be granted all privileges and rights of the Citizens of the regions of the signatories to this Treaty, except that such Diplomatic Nations may not seek to become a member of government, vote in elections, or propose laws in their host Regions.
Once these steps have been taken and are completed, this Friendship Treaty will be in effect.
Additional Benefits of Diplomacy
It is contemplated that entering the Friendship Treaty shall be the first diplomatic step leading to closer relations between our regions.
Each region may establish an Embassy, Diplomatic Office, or Consular Office in the regional forum of the other region.
The WA Delegates of each respective region are encouraged to communicate with each other in an effort to work together on WA matters.
As friendly regions, the parties to this treaty should feel free to seek cooperation on other matters.

Some may think this question to be unnecessary, some may think it downright cruel - seeing as those who gain few or no "votes" may be disappointed. Therefore, I stress that there is absolutely no obligation to vote in this. However, I would strongly encourage doing so: I feel we ought to know which members the region would most like to see in the delegacy, to give them some time to ponder whether or not they wish to run.
One of the banes of past delegate elections has been the lack of candidates (as I'm sure you all remember, this led last year to someone nobody in the region knew getting elected); one of my aims in this is to persuade people in the region to think seriously about whether or not they wish to become delegate.
I would ask that nobody take offense if they get few votes; there will almost always be the case of the majority supporting the few. I would also ask that everyone be as harsh as need be; I'm looking to gain an accurate impression of what the future is likely to hold, and that would be made difficult were pity votes and the like be doled out. It's still a long time to December, and everything could change in the course of three months. Furthermore, not everyone listed in this poll will necessarily be on the ballot come election day; indeed, some of those below have already told me that they have no intention of running. But, this being an opinion poll more than anything else, I see fit to include them.
Additionally, there are many people in the region who are not an option in this poll. After all, it is physically impossible to have 94 options on a poll. If there is someone who you would see as delegate, but is not listed, then please state their identity on the RMB.

I don't think this poll is appropriate. It undermines the electoral process. A nation should be able run for delegate free of any opinion poll result that may taint their candidacy.

I dont think thats the intention. I think the intention is to give some people who might not run some encouragement that theres support out there. One of our biggest problems lately has been finding people who arent just capable, but willing to run. Maybe seeing theres support out there will nudge some people. Others may see who people like and try to run against them
