My apologies ladies and gentlemen of Texas but there will not be a daily post today. I am feeling terrible due to excruciating physical pain and additionally I am feeling very blue today. Therefore, I am taking sick leave and I have eaten my breakfast and taken my medications including painkillers and I plan to sleep for most of the day. Hopefully, I will feel better tommorow. :(

Have an absolutely fantastic day everyone!

Your buddy,
Verner Von Richthofen
The Eternal Emperor

Edit: My painkillers are not working and I am going to hospital because the pain is getting worse. Oh God!

Dudes and Dudettes,

My Dad is still in the hospital and he can't make a daily post today. He's on life support in the cardiac ICU cause he suffered a cardiac arrest in the hospital emergency room yesterday and had to be resuscitated. He didn't regain consciousness after he was resuscitated and was still unconscious when my Mom brought me and my brothers to visit him in the ICU yesterday evening.

Please pray for my Dad to get well. Thanks in advance for praying for him.

I don't totally hate baseball. It does put me in a nice sound sleep when I want to take a nap.

The Phillies are my team, so I wouldn't count myself a devotee of The Nationals. But that is the best option to choose.

Hi everyone!

I’m really sorry I have to post an update on Verner’s condition again. I was hoping last time was the last time and he’d be fine for the rest of his life. So I really hope he'll be fine in future and this is the last time I have to do this.

Update on Verner’s condition:

The good news is my lord has regained consciousness and he has been weaned from the ventilator. The bad news is he’s still in the ICU being supported by VA-ECMO, intravenous inotropic cardiac medications, painkillers and other medications and supplemental oxygen. He’s being supported by ECMO because he had to be resuscitated from cardiac arrest 4 times yesterday. He has been given the Therapeutic Hypothermia treatment so we hope he hasn't suffered any brain damage.

Verner was quite upset to find himself back on ECMO in the ICU again but we’re really happy to have him back. He said he expected this to happen because he had been feeling his biventricular ICD work really hard to pace his heart to beat steadily since he woke up on Monday morning. However, he did not inform me about this because he knew I would have taken him to the hospital immediately. He wanted to stay out of hospital until November 1st so he could host our family’s Annual Halloween Family Gathering on October 31st. I told him he was an idiot, his life and good health were more important to us and we’re very happy and lucky he pulled through again this time. Our sons and I hugged and kissed him and told him we’re glad he survived because we love him and we need him.

Please pray for Verner to get well without sustaining any brain damage again everyone. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Giddyup Texans! Saturday breakfast time for both you and your horsies! Today we are pleased to present Oatmeal-A-Rama! For our health-conscious, heart-healthy Texans, we present a breakfast dedicated to one of Nature's finest grains - the oat! We will start it off with classic Oatmeal kicked up a notch. Also known as porridge, our Oatmeal is made using de-husked, rolled, flattened and lightly toasted oats that are then boiled to tender perfection - not too mushy, not too chewy, not too cold, not too hot - just right. The magic starts there with the endless quantity of toppings you can add to your Oatmeal. We will be offering up a couple of pre-prepared favorites, but customization is also an option and the way many like to go. The Classic is, well, a classic with brown sugar cinnamon, butter, and cream. The Pumpkin-Pie-inator has cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla extract for a treat we bet you have never tasted before. The Apple Deluxe has diced, genuine Texas Granny Smith apples cooked in with the Oatmeal along with a splash of almond milk, a dash of maple syrup and topped off with chopped toasted pecans. Woo, that is good stuff! Our custom Oatmeal add-ons include, but are not limited to, sliced almonds, pear pieces, shredded coconut, dehydrated cranberries, dark chocolate mini-chips, chopped bacon, pepitas, dry-roasted hazelnuts, honey, ginger snaps, applesauce, pistachios, dried apricots, walnuts, raisins, banana slices, graham crackers, apple chunks, peanut butter, peach jam and maple butter. The combinations are staggering. Not into porridge? We have fresh, homemade Granola or Muesli if you want a different oat-delivery vehicle. We will also be dishing up our ever-popular Oatmeal pancakes with or without blueberries. Toasted Oatmeal bread is a meal in itself. Complimentary Oatmeal mini-muffins are on every table. Remember, Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy. Oh Boy! Oatmeal-A-Rama Shama-Lama-Ding-Dong!

Our friends over in The Dominion of United Vinceland have a new Special Breakfast Beverage of the Day for us again! Vincent has whipped up a delectable concoction guaranteed to delight one and all - the Nutella Hot Chocolate with Chocolate Chips and Marshmallows! Wahootie! Frothy. Warm. Cozy. Nutellery. Chocolatey. Creamy. That about sums it up. Heaven in a Cup! Thank you, Vincent!

The Juice Bar will be open with Apple Juice and Orange Juice. Today's funky one is Pineapple-Mango Madness - sweet, tart and tangy! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas Coffee doesn't get much better. Come on down and start your day right Texas. You know you want to!®

***** Texas Shout Outs *****

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours.

The Texas Chat Site is here: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php

Please register with your nation name. This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 762 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 15 years! Check it out! Good stuff!

Attn fellow Texans please pray for me and the Aggies as we now have to contend with a #1 ranked LSU so if things stay that way this season A&M would play #1 Clemson, #1 Alabama, and #1 LSU

Thank God my heart is beating steadily again. They performed an ECMO weaning test on me on Saturday and I was weaned from ECMO yesterday morning. This morning I was weaned from all intravenous medications and was discharged from the ICU into the Cardiac Ward. I am extremely glad to get out of the ICU. May God help me so that I will never wind up in the ICU again.

There’s a news release posted: page=news/2019/10/27/index.html

What You Need to Know

The zombie apocalypse will begin 10/30/2019, 3:00:00 PM CDT (Texas Time)

It will run for 33 hours, ending 11/1/2019, 12:00:00 AM CDT

Zombies move between nations in the same region. This makes it important to be aware of what your neighbors are doing, as will be difficult for an individual nation to hold out in a heavily infected region.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The current standing policy of Texas on Z-Day is the following:

1) NewTexas first secures our borders. Next ALL nations select the Research option as soon as the event starts.
Any nations not researching(using military force) or found to be embracing the Zombie hoards will be expelled for the duration of the event.

2) Once Cure Missiles are available we begin what is typically a very coordinated campaign to cure our fellow citizens. Efforts are usually coordinated by NewTexas, Trecdom2, and/or myself on our off-site forum and on the RMB. We typically start by "curing" the nations with the largest populations first as they usually have the most Zombies. When needed we will send the occasional telegram in the event a fast and direct message or a change in strategy needs sent so watch your inbox as well.

In the beginning we usually cure the hoard to a manageable number then move on to the next nation since it takes quite a lot to cure one nation to zero. Once we get it under control we start mopping up nations with any remaining zombies.

3) I have a puppet nation here in Texas that I will use in conjunction with my main nation by using a different browser so I can launch two cure attacks simultaneously. All nations can do the same if you so choose. On occasion we have sent nations to assist our allies, but that decision is solely at the discretion of NewTexas and will be communicated by him ONLY.

Please note there may be some changes courtesy of Max this year. If you see something say something please.

Thanks,

Hiram Fox
Lt. Governor of Texas

Good grief, I take a few days for a cross country drive and you land in the hospital. Can't take my eyes off you for a second...

Glad to hear you are doing better.

Zombies. I hate freakin' Zombies. They're all dead and stinking and and junk. And what's with the "brainz..." thing?

Nuke til they glow then shoot them in the dark.

Jumpin' deity on a stick, Leia, this really sucks. With the all the chest thumpin' Verner's gone through over the last few months I have to wonder if there is permanent damage to the catriledge anchoring the sternum to his ribcage. I assume with everything that is going on, that is kind of low on the priority scale, but it could be a mobility and breathing issue as he recovers.

Oh God Buddy!

Please do not tell me I am going to have more health problems. That will SERIOUSLY suck. :(

Buddy, that sounds like what my Guardian Angel must have said frequently. :)

I would STRONGLY prefer NOT to have another year that's as horrible as this year again for the rest of my life.

I hate zombies too but shooting them is a bad idea. Knives don't need bullets or reloads. Use a sharp butcher's cleaver or kitchen knife on them. They're dead meat anyways :)

Let's hope enough of us begin researching a cure as early on as we can. Hate to see the Zombie Lovers win. Still, cannot cure dead.

***** Texas T-ZERO Announcement *****

The Region is now on lockdown! Nobody, we repeat, nobody in, anybody out stays out until Z-Day is over. The end.

Be aware, the entire Texas Government is empowered to put the boots to anyone who is caught Exporting Zombies. If this puts you in the Rejected Realms, then you can stay there until Z-Day is over (they are an ally after all) or you can go somewhere else until Z-Day is over, but you are not returning to Texas. Texas Cabinet members, be vigilant!

We are sorry this may seem harsh, but T-ZERO (Texas Zombie Emergency Response Operations) knows what it is doing. It is for your own good.

Good Luck!
