Scene I, Act II
The Unknown Man's Adventure and the Chase Arc
The sound of the man’s voice kept echoing in his head, but he was unable to hear the words. It’s strange to think about it, so he carries on advancing through the snowstorm. He had become disorientated, but he was undeterred by the cold. "I’m famished," he said without thinking. His voice was deeper than before; it startled him. "My own voice could have knocked me down with a feather." His voice wasn’t as deep as earlier, basically the same when he first spoke, his usual tone. A snowshoe hare ran in front of him and stopped its movement as the man also stopped.
He doesn’t have a weapon on him, so his only option is to chase the hare and kill it with his own hands. It was easier said than done. He chased the hare, but it ran away from his pursuit out of pure instinct. "Of course it runs," he mumbles, making a fool of himself. He grabs some snow and shapes it into a sphere. He threw it at the hare and perfectly hit it. Talent or luck, he was unsure himself. He senses the panic, and promptly snatches the hare just as it tries to get out of the snow. His hand grabs onto the hare tightly. The hare makes continual attempts to flee, hoping to make a break for it.
Its leg kicks the snow and hits the man’s face. "You damn rabbit." He boxes the hare's ears, to which it reacts by stopping moving. He prepares to land another strike, but realizes the hare is unconscious. Not just unconscious, dead. "Are dead animals still editable?" He proceeded to look for dead branches. He saw a tree from a distance. "Got myself some firewood," he said while smiling. After breaking the branches from the tree, he took more than necessary. He looked for a place to hide. He ran hell for leather searching for a place, the speed of a mile a minute. He feels like he could run faster, but doesn't know how. Everything around him seems slow. Despite all his efforts, he couldn’t find anything, so he decided to make a fire in the snow. He cooks the rabbit and takes a bite. The second it reaches his mouth, he vomits it out in pain. His version becomes a bit blurry.
He throws the hare away and destroys the fire. The man went on his path, for the next several hours, until finally the snow storm stopped. He looks at something.
