He is, the potential high risk contact tested negative.

Wednesday is free and actually would be the best day for me. Mist netting has been postponed until the weekend.

3pm (9am est), 4pm(10am est) or 5pm(11am est)? (or something else?)

I can only do the 5pm.

Then let's take 5pm, unless Exae objects later.

Both other times I have class.

That's great to hear, glad everything is okay

5pm/11am it is then!

I haven't heard from him yet. So I guess it's 11am? Unless I made a mistake 11am your time equals 5pm my time. But I don't think I did since a quick google search confirmed your time as 10am right now and it's 4pm here so...

Yeah I imagine he was just thinking the wrong time.

I'm an hour behind you, just listed what my local time would be.

Oh wow, all this time I thought you we were in the same time zone.

Exaequatio wrote:Oh wow, all this time I thought you we were in the same time zone.

Yeah, I did so too. I explained in the messenger chat what happened.

It was fun talking to you two, as always! Can't wait for next time!!

Exae, Nickel, nice talking to you as always! I hope I didn't dominate the conversation too much in the beginning when I was going on about the structure of the Belgian political system.

Also, sorry of I articulated some things badly but we touched upon the thing I was trying to say when we were going on about quota's and such so I suppose it's all good.

Don't worry, you didn't! I thought it was interesting!

I think we all have trouble articulating ourselves at times, don't worry!

The conversation about the Belgian political system gives new perspectives on how other countries are run.

Hope we can find a game we can try out next time we talk.

If we can get enough people we should play Among Us.

After watching the debate last night, my belief in Biden winning has shaken.

How so? I thought he did fine. Anything could happen in the last two weeks and Trump definitely has a chance to win, but I doubt the debate changed many minds. Not what Trump wants when he's down 10 points.

Just to clarify, you are Soviet Chernarus?

I don’t know, just the fact that Trump kept going with the “you’ve been a politician for 50 years, Vice President for 8 years, why didn’t you get your ideas put into action back then? Why now!” Just seems like a very valid point to me. Perhaps I’m just looking too deeply into that line of talking.

Yep! Sorry if I didn't make it clear earlier.

I agree that there is validity to those statements. However I think the voters concerns are more immediate especially with COVID and its effects on the economy. They are going to see how these issues are happening under the current incumbent and likely punish him electorally. Also I think Biden's campaigning on a "return to normalcy" will be appealing to a lot of voters. Trump's attacks about establishment politicians and the swamp seemed more effective when he wasn't actually president and could claim to be an outsider.

Had a feeling it was you, just wanted to confirm it.

That is true, most people's concerns are about the present and not the past, especially given the chaotic times.

At this point I think the only ways he can win is if there is a massive 1948-esque polling error, if the race narrows by like 3 points in the next two weeks and there's a modest 2-3 point polling error on election day, or of course attempting to do some election shenanigans via the Supreme Court or calling for Republican governors/legislatures to send a different slate of electors to Congress.

Even if he did end up wining the presidency, with the Democrat's expectedly increasing their house majority and capturing the senate, would neuter his ability to get his election promises implemented.

He would definitely struggle to get anything done in terms of legislation, especially when you consider that the incumbent party in control of the White House typically loses seats in midterms. If he loses though his ideas are here to stay, especially in the courts and in the Republican party. They will be nominating candidates that are very trumpist in policy but less so in character/demeanor.
