Getting to the top of any category is rough. I only answer issues that will obviously have a positive impact on my ecofriendly stat.

Getting from 100 to where I sit now, at 61 worldwide and 3rd in Forest, has taken an eternity. I could see myself pushing into the top 30-40ish worldwide at some point, but beyond that, you're just hoping for a nation to either CTE or screw up answering an issue.

Longevity is really the only way to hit those big time spots. Sometimes I wish I still had my nation(s) I made back in 2003, but having that spot just wouldn't feel right under anything other than Her Majesty's Autumnal Kingdom of Reannia.

On a real life note, I got a new job at local brewery. Before I even poured my first beer I set up a deal to send all of their spent grain to local farms.

I dunno, I feel like I am on the right track despite having only two years in this game. Both this nation and The Ascendant Hive are gunning for the opposite in stats, and already have a lot of things in the yellow, with D&D getting extremely close to top spot. Sure, there are some nations that will take forever to beat (my highest stat is the one I pay least attention to when answering issues, yet the top nation has a 30k advantage over me) but I'm fairly confident that one day, maybe another year of consistent issue answering, I'll be sitting in those top ranks on both these nations.

I don't know, it was pretty easy to get up to top-100 overall and first in Forest for nudity. I just had to ban clothing and consistently resist any proposals to bring it back.

Niceeeee. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I suppose some of the more niche categories are a little easier to shoot for. Although the top 100 worldwide is still a grind. Typically, that's where you get into the mix with people also gunning for that stat. Get back to me when you hit the top 25, and then again the top 10, and then when you hit 1st. Godspeed!

Whoa....

Mount Seymour, I just checked out your factbook and saw your currency.

If yours weren't older than mine, I might declare war. O_O

Greetings, I am Coggins crossing and I am new to Forest. I’ve been playing NationStates for several years now and am looking for a more relaxed experience. I’ve heard great things about Forest.

Welcome! I'm a newbie so I'm new here too. You have more gameplay experience than me :)

Why would you declare war over currency?

Reannia and Mount Seymour:
How did you guys come up with your currencies?

Edit: Dang! I double posted. Sorry! :(

Generally speaking you would declare war over currency if a previously subservient nation attempts to break from your hegemonic economic control.

I was just making a but of a joke about our currencies looking similar.

As for how I decided on a design, it was just a lot of placing and moving random things around in photoshop until I was content. They kind of look like my bank checks, actually. I think mine may be a little cluttered, but then again money tends to have all sorts of watermarks and junk on it.

Brellach, I am gunning for that 1st spot!

Good luck with that...? I guess...?

I might make a play for most primitive in region myself. Only 372 places to go!

Forest seems to attract a lot of primitives. This is particularly unusual in the case of Shalotte, where there aren't even many trees.

Wow! His banknotes are absolutely beautiful, practically pieces of art. I understand the feelings there Reannia.

I know! Two great sets of banknotes from both nations. I really should ask someone to design some banknotes for Caracasus....

Oh, right. Okay, never mind.

It's been awhile since I've whittled something, but I can give it a shot. :p

Thanks for answering my question Reannia.

Your currencies are impressive but I'm also impressed with your "Reannia's 120 Biggest Cities" Flags & Facts. How did you come up with the names, flags and short history for each city?! Impressive!

Well given Caracasus has long abandoned money as a way of marking exchanges the Tiny Elephant Figurine is now the name for electronic labour vouchers.

In its heyday, before colonization and before the revolution, the Tiny Elephant Figurine's value was determined by the quality of craftsmanship that went into the piece, which being entirely subjective led to some very long queues at market stalls and so on. It was also rather hard to design a wallet or purse that could carry them without causing some discomfort.

Largely by being a sociopath that lives inside of a fantasy world, I suppose.

But also by being a vexillophile nerd, even as a little kid. My office walls have 14 national flags on them. The shelves and whatnot have mini flags for the other 200 or so countries in the world.

Designing a national flag for a country based on my wife was what made me even want to make a new NationStates account. Then it was kind of like "Now what...". So I made flags for the dozen or so cities I had. And then came the maps, and the currency, and more cities and more flags.

The notebook I have at home detailing the 26 year history for the 6 league Reannian football ladder is basically some serial killer level stuff...

We've got BIGGER problems than you. You see, mages are always running out of mana. Therefore my nation's currency are Portable Mana Wells. BIGGER than your Tiny Elephant Figurines :\

I need to come up with a smaller form of currency before I can start designing them.

Edit again: Eureka! Mana Dollars. You can either consume it to recharge your mana levels or spend it as currency. :)

The last part of my post got cut off.

The city names are all based on my wife, myself and our relationship. The heavy autumn theme comes from both of our birthdays and our wedding being in autumn. It's also just the best time of year.

Other cities are named after our favorite musicans, animals, our pets, our families, schools we went to, the beers we brew, even down to small memories like the hoodie I let her borrow when we first met...and that she never gave back >_> (Greenhood).

Really, my nation doxxes me pretty hard, lol.

But at least no one can accuse me of not loving my wife.
