It's sort of weird, the first time I made this nation I was in year 10 high school. Now I'm fourth year uni haha so not sure where to start
What's the story with the map? Can I join, and do we just replace a modern day country?
Anywhere and anything is fine. Whatever you feel like sharing. We're just nosey in case we're missing out on something better than NS (how is that possible?). *grin*
The map and anthems page have a 70 day residency requirement. Since we're such a small region (and I don't foresee much growth) if you are not claiming countries with large land areas such as Brazil, the USoA, Canada, Russia, the PRC, etc. you can pick more than one country on the map as long as they are contiguous. A warning to those who want the USoA -- parts have already been claimed.

Health experts are saying it's likely to become a pandemic. I've heard conspiracy theories about it being a leak from a biological weapons lab. What do you think?
Thanks mate 🙂 fires are mostly in scarcely inhabited areas, and so while a lot of properties have been destroyed, the death toll thankfully remains relatively low. Over a billion animals are thought to have perished however which is very sad. You can thank the NSW state government for cutting funding to park management and refusing to do anything until very recently.
Glad to hear you were relatively unaffected. The way the amerikan news reported it it sounded like the entire continent was on fire.
Like the USoA government, the NSW state government is elected. In fact isn't there some kind of law that requires citizens to vote? So ultimately, the cits are responsible for government policies because they elect people to office who implement those policies. So while NSW's motto appears to be "burn, baby, burn," I'm afraid to articulate what kind of motto the USoA is shouting when its citizens elect people like Trump and McConnell.
It's highly likely since American health experts who are now onsite say a lot of misinformation was put out by the Chinese government, epidemiological data was not collected properly nor was there any follow-through of lines of infection and in fact, people were "hospitalized" when they were infected by the flu rather than the corona virus. IOW it's a mess and likely to get worse rather than better. Gird up your loins, guys, since the shelves are already emptying of a lot of dry goods. It's kind of frightening to realize how much of our food comes from the PRC and/or Asia. Those container ships are either not sailing or people are already beginning to hoard, I'm not sure which.
Maybe both?
Hopefully the quarantine measures work but there seems to be conflicting information on how long people infected are asymptomatic before they start to show symptoms. This is important because experts now seem to believe that even when they aren't showing symptoms infected people can be infecting others.

Hey does anyone know how I would go about founding a nation that used to exist or how to get in contact with mods who could help me? The nation in question CTE 18 years ago and only had 700 million people. I'd just like to use the same name.
If someone else hasn't reused the name, you should be able to revive the nation simply by entering its name and password just like you revived your main nation. You'll get a message something like, "The nation, @@Name@@, has ceased to exist. Would you like to restore it?" Enter the password in the labelled box and click the Restore button to the right. If you can't remember the password hopefully you registered an email address when you created it because the game will then send a temporary password to that email address.
