Director Yuso Declares Government Decision on "Knife Control"
"Hello, And welcome back to Usari News Network, Your stop for up to date National News." Yusef belted off his standard welcome to the viewers. "Today, we have a statement from Director Yuso about the recent calls for knife bans, And I am certain a number of you will not like what he said."
The scene quickly changes to a recording from a press conference held by Director Yuso, dozens of reporters waiting to ask questions. He takes a deep breath as he considers what e is about to say carefully. "People of Usari... You had chosen me in the hopes that I would bring the change our nation deserved. And I have indeed brought change, much of it good. But even I can admit when I have done something wrong, And that is what I will do today. Some time ago I introduced a general weapon ban because I believed that it would reduce reduce violent crimes in our nation."
He reached under the podium he was speaking at and pulled out a large folder filled with documents, looking more like a paper-back book then a folder. "The documents provided by our men and women in blue have proven me wrong, Heinously wrong in fact. What I thought would take away weapons from criminals only enabled them to prey on those I took the weapons from. Today, I will let this continue no longer. As of today, I have chosen to use an executive order and repeal my ban on weapons. Of course, previous weapon laws from before the initial ban will be reinstated, as not doing so would be reckless on my part, so in one month Gun dealers and other such suppliers of self defense tools may reapply for a license to sell such things again." He paused waiting for questions from the reporters, but the scene changed back to Yusef before they could.
