About my ongoing discussion with Dresca, I actually gave in and bought Let's Go Eevee (because seriously, Eevee is way cuter than Pikachu), and it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Granted, the way to gain experience mainly by catching Pokemon instead of just battling them is pretty annoying, since the difference between a nice/great/excellent capture can be rather large, and even excluding that, I'm sometimes mystified over a capture getting more experience than it should have, but with so many variables going on, I guess that's not too surprising, but still frustrating. And by extension, how that means that most of the money I'll be spending will be on balls is pretty messed up, since I usually use my money for much better things. That said, I've found out how to make a lot of money early on, and it's obvious why they put in that mechanic for this reason. Still, no breeding (despite gender still being included), no abilities (despite it being coded into the game according to Bulbapedia), and no held items is pretty hard to get by, seeing as how those have been par for the course since gens 2 and 3, and have been largely the reason why the games have been such a success ever since.

So I'm still looking forward to playing Shield in the fall, but in the meantime, the Switch has a fairly large library, and I've already bought another game, Ys VIII, for it, and I still have to buy Zelda BoTW of course.

I haven't played too many Pokemon games. X and Omega Ruby. Have been interested in Let's Go Eevee. I do have many of the other major Nintendo games for the Switch, such as Smash Ultimate, BotW, and Super Mario Odyssey.
