Work has now been completed on the USS Samoa and she will undergo sea trials in the North Atlantic before being deployed to the coastal waters of Central America Federation along with the other naval forces from Roosevelt Roads Naval Base in Puerto Rico. This will take at least three weeks to complete both the trials and reaching the deployment zone. Work on the USS Doris Miller (DDG-1041), USS Eugene E. Lindsey (DDG-1042), USS Frederick Douglass (DDG-1043), USS Detroit (CL-17), USS Springfield (CL-18), USS Birmingham (CL-19) and USS Austin (CL-20) has reached the halfway point and is on track to be finished by early next year. These vessels will be stationed at bases around the Union and not see deployment in the ongoing conflict in Central America as it is hoped that conflict is resolved by then. The movement of naval forces from Puerto Rico is underway and they should arrive near the Federation in the next few days or so and begin aid missions of both relief and support for Special Operations troops and Federal forces in fighting the cartel menace.
